Mega Bidoof
Smash Hero
The Plump Mouse Pokemon
Bidoof, God of All Potential Newcomers. Period.
"With nerves of steel, nothing can perturb it. It is more agile and active than it appears."
Besides the fact that Bidoof is my favorite Pokémon ever, he actually plays a large role in the Pokémon series.
He is a rodent.
Let me explain further.
In every Pokémon region, there is a different type of "rodent" and bird that usually serve as your first caught Pokémon (this is not counting your starter since h is not caught). Though he would be out-prioritized by a classic rodent like Ratata if Sakurai chooses to add one, a man can still dream.
Introduced in Diamond and Pearl, the 4th generation, Bidoof quickly rose in infamy as "one of the most useless and horribly designed Pokemon" - although this was before we had ice cream Pokemon. However, behind Bidoof's simple demeanor lied a dark secret; Bidoof could learn almost any HM. After it was discovered, a massive demand for them came to be. Thus the Pokemon slave trade was formed.
Speaking of beavers, check out this article that @PsychoIncarnate found

"It sounds like the punchline to a prehistoric joke: an eight-foot-long, 200-pound beaver with six-inch-long incisors, a narrow tail, and long, shaggy hair. But Castoroides, also known as the Giant Beaver, really existed, and it fit right in with the other plus-sizedmegafauna of its late Pliocene and Pleistocene ecosystem. Like modern beavers, the Giant Beaver probably led a partially aquatic lifestyle--especially since it was too big and bulky to move about sleekly on land, where it would have made a tasty meal for a hungry Smilodon. (By the way, other than both being mammals, the Giant Beaver was completely unrelated to the beaver-like Castorocauda, which lived during the late Jurassic period.)
The question everyone asks is: did the Giant Beaver build equally giant dams? Sadly, if it did, no evidence of these gigantic construction projects has been preserved into modern times, though some enthusiasts point to a four-foot-high dam in Ohio (which may well have been made by another animal, or be a natural formation). Like the other mammalian megafauna of the last Ice Age, the extinction of the Giant Beaver was hastened by the early human settlers of North America, who may have valued this shaggy beast for its fur as well as its meat."
This was probably the basis for Bidoof's ugly evolution: Bibarel.
