Out of the current characters, probably:
1) Pit - KI:U is one of favorite games of all time. And Pit seems to be getting some nice changes like the upperdash arm. I hope his final smash it the great sacred treasure. Will use Dark Pit Palette.
2) Mega Man: I love how faithful he is to his games. Much superior to his MVC counterpart.

I tend to main the characters I like, so out of unconfirmed veterans:
Ike, Pokemon Trainer

And out of possible newcomers:
Lucina, Shulk, or Isaac. I'll consider any other new FE rep depending on how he or she plays.

Confirmed: I've always liked Pikachu, and the new Bowser looks like a lot of fun.

Veteran: In the day I was almost cruelly good with Wolf, but it is unlikely he will return. Dedede is definitely a top pick as well.

Feasible Newcomers: I feel like Waluigi and Palutena would be just my style.

Among the characters confirmed thus far, the one I am leaning toward the most is Pit. Pit is actually mine secondary main in Brawl. With his new special moves, Pit seems even more interesting in Smash 4 than he did in Brawl. Hopefully he will have some more kill moves this time around.

If Zelda returns, I will probably try to main her again, assuming her moves will be as powerful as they were in Brawl. I really liked her play style in Brawl.

If Isaac gets in, which I really hope, I will definitely try to main him as well. A sword-wielding, ranged magick user definitely sounds like my kind of character.

If Lyndis and Young Cricket made it in, which is probably unlikely, I would try them out as well. I could really see both of them being very light, fast, and unpredictable fighters.

I think it's too early for me to decide; I really need to play characters hands-on before I decide on my mains. I've mained Jiggs in 64, but dropped her in Melee and Brawl because of how differently she "feels" (due to the changing game physics, etc). Likewise, one of my secondaries in Melee is Bowser, yet I dropped him in Brawl due to the same reason. It's not that I can't adapt, it's just that I don't like forcing myself to main a character who's playstyle I can't stand. I don't find it fun, y'know? So, in a sense, I guess I'm not the loyal type who tries to stick with their mains in each installment.

Roy would be the only exception if he gets in though. Whether I like how he plays or not, I'd main him so hard lol.

Kirby - been my main since 64, even through those dark times in melee where he was awful.

Possible Newcomers:
Little Mac - This would be the first time a character is from a game I PERSONALLY feel connected 2 enough to main him no matter what. Punch-out!! was my favorite NES game and unlike say the zelda series I actually feel like little mac is MY character since I was the kid that loved Puch-Out!! much more then any of my friends.

Geno - unlikely but would have that same personal feel as Mac. Mario RPG was my favorite SNES rpg... for example a friend of mine loves earthbound and has been maining Ness since the 64 version, while I havent had a really personal connection with a smash character yet.

Lip - Tetris attack is one of my all time favorite games ever in any of it's incarnations, pokemon puzzle league etc... I never played the japanese version with Lip but just knowing she reps that series would make her a likely main for me.

Duck Hunt Dog - I just think he's cool, I was never REALLY into duck hunt or anything but I did play the game and I just love the idea of him... he'd be the retro Rep I actually feel nostalgic for unlike R.O.B. and game and watch.

Isaac - Golden sun was a great RPG and few people I know played it so he'd feel personal to a lesser extent but I could see maining him if none of the others got in.

From the characters that were announced, I'd have to say... Mario. I dunno but the other characters don't really appeal to me as they look like they'll be like in Brawl. If Samus was buffed, then I'll main her like I do in Melee.

from smash ive always loved marths and falcos movesets, but from my favorite games i would go for link/sonic (shame they both suck)

from watching the trailers... megaman looks like top tier material (pure speculation, looks like the strongest confirmed character atm though) and bowser is looking pretty good aswel

Out of the confirmed characters I'm most likely going to be maining Mega Man and the Villager, but I have to see how they play. Obvious Captain Falcon is obvious, he's always one of my mains, and I'll also be testing out the other newcomers as well. Obviously it's too early to say who I will end up maining, but Mega Man seems like an all around great character, and the Villager seems like a lot of fun. Who knows, maybe Wii Fit Trainer will end up being a great character.
