What Melee Could Have Been

Uh-oh! Someone broke the **** out of Melee and every character saw a set of improvements. From the new, hacked roster, you are allowed one main and three secondaries. Choose wisely.

Falco's dair is now auto-cancelled, OR he is capable of DJC.
Fox's recovery gains 1.5x itself in distance, his up b charges and finishes 3x faster, and his forward b is lagless.
Peach's turnips cannot be caught by anyone but her, and stitch and items is/are now a one-in-fifteen probability.
Luigi has become a fastfaller (think: Falco), and misfires are a one-in-four chance. He also regains his SSB64 up b, and can up b directly after the PPP.
Ganon gets to use his sword. His neutral b becomes the command for him to go into sword mode. The sword greatly extends his arm-related attacks, and turns his uair into a Fox-like uair. (uairs normally, but sword smacks opponent up before they can fly away. SDIable.
Bowser has auto-cancelled everything and is twice as heavy.
Shiek's up b is now lagless and has continuous momentum once Shiek reappears. Platform cancels galore.
Yoshi has a refreshable flutterjump, and he can now throw his eggs as one-use only items. His flutterjump still greatly reduces knockback.
Captain Falcon can now float like Peach for three seconds. He can float at the speed at which he can run. His double jump is the same.
Samus has Pre-Charged Shots.
Nana, when out of Popo's radius, acts as a lvl9, and automatically respawns when she dies.
Link gets his SSB64 bombs, boomie, fair, dair and dsmash back. This also implies that his fairs and dairs are now auto-cancelled. Shield pressure anyone?
DK has a pre-charged Giant Punch
Mario ate a fire-flower, looks possessed, runs twice as fast, and fireballs move and come out twice as fast.
Doc's pills do twice as much damage, have auto-cancel, and Doc's falling speed can be changed during pill deployment.
Jigglypuff has a gun. It is similar to Falco's, except Puff's is not auto-cancelled.
Marth dual-wields. His arms can be de-synched like the ICs. He grabs via impalement.
Young link has three more midair jumps as well as an auto flame meteor.
Pikachu has evolved into Raichu. He's twice as heavy, 1.5x as big, does a slight bit more damage, and has larger hitboxes. His speed and moveset is the same.
Kirby has become Meta Knight.
Mr. Game and Watch's forward b only produces sixes, his up b can be charged (for <3 seconds) and shot in any direction, and his pancakes gain significant forward trajectory.
Mewtwo has traded confusion for rest, and has electrified bairs (think: Ness).
Zelda runs as fast as Captain Falcon, and has her up b extended and divided into three sub-divisions (think: Shiek with three up b stages instead of two).
Roy floats as much as Jugglypuff, and his neutral b charges twice as fast. He can also store a charge for ten seconds. OMG SUSPENSE
Ness is a grown man with an auto up b (no waiting for the beam to come full circle.) He spent decades in the wilderness honing his PSI, and his T-rex arms are less of an issue.
Pichu is in lightning mode and heals himself rather than hurts himself. He is healed by a 1:1 ratio of the damage he gives via his electric attacks.

I think that this is one of the BEST things you could do for Peach. It would make her shield pressure worlds better (well maybe not worlds), because people wouldn't be able to shield > grab turnips. Not being able to grab them also makes them stronger for edge guarding and approaches. It's something that doesn't seem that great from the surface, but...wow...that would be really nice.

Zelda runs as fast as Captain Falcon, and has her up b extended and divided into three sub-divisions (think: Shiek with three up b stages instead of two).
This is just good. Just good.

So I'm taking Peach as my main, and Zelda as a secondary. I really don't want or need anyone else.

Roy's dtilt is JC-able like falco's shine, and his DED can turn around on every hit. Also his flare blade holds a charge.

- I'm pretty sure DJC aerial shines could just break shields every time you hit them. Auto-cancel doesn't have **** on that. It would also help for pillars because you could just DJC dair and not worry about them getting to the ground before you. DJC lasers would be much faster as well. People complain about spamming lasers now; just wait until they are coming at twice the speed and you can't shield because it'd lead to a shield break every time. XD

Secondary: MARTH
- I just keep imagining Marth alternating fairs in an endless wall that is completely impenetrable... I would like to see the Ken combos with this ****. You could fair -> immediate dair (DIing out is no longer an option) -> A SECOND dair out of the first one...

Secondary: NESS
- At first I didn't think an instant up-B would be particularly useful, but now that I have thought it over a bit, it would be pretty crazy because it kills so early, and you could easily combo everything into it. Just simple stuff like uair -> up-B would kill at really low percents, and it'd be impossible to DI out of because up-B goes so far so quickly. It combines the power of rest with the range 2x Marth's sword. LOL!

Secondary: CAPTAIN FALCON
- Float moves as fast as his run?! Float cancelling aerials on its own would make him insane, but now he can dash dance IN THE AIR. If you thought it was impossible to out-space his nairs before, you're just completely ****ed now. I can also see the ridiculous edgeguards now... LOL Oh wow, he just dropped to the bottom of the stage, floated, glided over to me at Falcon's run speed, kneed me in the jaw, floated back, double jumped, and up-B'd back to the stage.


Luigi actually got worse though. lol I guess the misfires would help if you just wanted to gamble on getting kills, but him falling fast won't do anything except get his *** combo'd all day, which is currently one of his biggest strengths.

yea i noticed that luigi got worse as well lol.

he also would have more trouble recovering now that he falls quickly. even if he misfires every other time, you'll never be able to get back to the stage if you've been his off too far.

i think it'd be better if you could do areal down B as many times as you want. also have nair cancel all momentum.

Luigi with the sweetspot on up-B being the whole hitbox would be better.

I'd probably go some combo of Marth, Pichu, Kirby (LOLMK), Ness, or maybe Falco or Samus... mostly Marth though. Double shield breaker/Dolphin Slash could be OP in the right hands, not to mention everything Bones mentioned.

Ness can not shave. He is an old wizard; banished from society.
Weegee gets lagless misfires, lazer-esque fireballs (that travel twice as fast as before and don't disappear), and he gets his SSB64 PPP and up b. His chance for a misfire is now reduced to 1/4 (CUZ YA CANT HAVE EVERYTHANG).
Pichu CAN STILL TAKE DAMAGE, but recovers some as he shocks his opponents. Keep in mind that, although he's now harder to hit and kill, he's harder to control as well.
Roy's counter has less decay and a longer trigger phase (1 sec).
Jigglypuff has a .45 which does not have auto-cancel, but is similar in damage, htstun, and bullet speed with Falco's lazer.

Also, with Falco, please keep in mind that if you take the DJC option, you'll still have to cancel the mad fast arials.

Since Marth's up b causes him to move, I think the Dolphin Slash should stay the same. Now, though, he can jab twice as fast, and fsmash on either side of him, so his up b should be the last of anyone's worries.

If Samus's charge shots were pre-charged, wouldn't they just be shots?
And I guess Popo was too destructive to be buffed.

Anyways, this would definitely be cool for a project: -M or something.

I think Fox's upb would be less punishable, but it would be mad hard to control imo, especially when the optimal recovery angle is 22.5°.

This being said, Falcon seems mad cool. Marth and Falco seem pretty broken. Ness and Pichu seem interesting. IC dittos seem unfinishable. Kirby seems banned.

Also, how about a transformation for Zelda/Sheik that would last 3 frames or so?

what if falco decided not to use his gun and now fires lasers with his mouth.

or better yet, he holds his gun inside his mouth and pulls the trigger with his tongue.

birds dun't has fingers anyways.

My choices: Falcon as my main. Watching him soar across the map, deploying and re-deploying the knee at the greatest of speeds; stomping the air, and leaving the stage completely to destroy Puff. Plus, I'd really like to see him chase down peach. I'd laugh my *** off.

Secondary: Mewtwo. Teleport rest. 'Nuff said.
Secondary: Falco. I ****ing loved Ness in SSB64, and I think Falco with DJC would be a much more well rounded version of that.
Secondary: Link. That SSB dair was the best ever move for shield pressure in any Smash game. Just hover over their shield with the sword out, cancel it when it hits the ground, pull it out again, and there's no leaving that shield unless you want to go flying.

Hey, how about giving Pichu an actual shield, which would thanks to his impressive electric power damage the opponents pressuring him (no knockback though)?
