Alright, well if you believe Wes is good then try to learn something from him. I only asked that question because I was surprised people at a pro tournament were talking that way.

I think the devs "invented" most of the tech skill, lol.
Well let's see here...Wes does plenty of things like WDing and Lcanceling that you can learn from ANY other half-way player; he missile cancels and uses the extended grapple, both of which, as well as similar techniques, can either be learned from a different Samus or discovered on one's own, and he uses pivoting, shield dashing, and other random techniques that loads of players use. As for what he's "invented", I wouldn't know because I didn't follow his play while I was learning. But THAT's exactly my point. I didn't watch Wes at all, and even though I had no idea what he was up to, I still managed to figure out a wide array of stuff. So he really DIDN'T "invent" the character.

HugS was the only competitive Samus player I've seen use pivoting so effectively. I still don't see many Samus players use this technique at all, let alone effectively. If anything, I'd say he "invented" pivoting for Samus, a technique crucial to her ground game.

I remember hearing that SWD was discovered by a Japanese player who told Wes about it.
In tech skill, I'd even say he's better than HugS, but get him in a tournament against other highly skilled players, and he really only does a decent job.

I'm sure wes didn't discover it, but as watty was stating, he invented the use for many of the techniques that you guys use. Wes has at some point used every technique probably known.

He was the first person I ever saw actually use the duck-cancel jab trick that I see HugS use a lot now. Not sure if anyone really used it before him...

I can accept hugs is the best samus but you people need to hop the **** off of wes' back just because he's not as good as he used to be.
He's not ****ty, and doesn't sandbag in tournament I don't know where you people get your info from but you don't know what you are talking about he is still pretty **** good and IMO is probably still up there with the top Sami(?) but i don't think you can deny he has definitely slipped, and although I am not in touch with the samus community much i wouldn't be surprised and in fact I would be a bit disappointed if noone has taken the title of second best samus from Wes.

No, he hasn't been using it. People on the EC tell him he should start using it after seeing me do it. He's probably done it, but he doesn't use it as an effective technique. There's a difference.
EX: I know there are people who have used the up B before me...but i'm still credited with the technique.
And FYI wes has the title of 2nd best samus without question.

I remember when you got the idea from me, and Rohins and I remember laughing at how bad you were at using it. You VISIBLY crouched between jabs, and were terribly ineffective. I paved the way for JC, especially with Samus.
The fact that you'd claim you did it before me and that I followed others on it is the opposite; I've always been the poster child for jab cancelling and edge cancelling, telling everyone about it. Lots of EC people now use it, and I know you followed suit. Tool.
No one could possibly refute this huge piece of evidence.

Let me start off by saying...CALM THE **** DOWN!
Firstly, i sincerely remember applying this technique to my samus after Forward of AZ informed me of it. I always knew of the technique, but I didn't apply it until he let me know that he uses it. As with many techniques, people don't start using them until they see people winning with them. Perhaps that's why your incredible feats did not catch on with the higher areas of the tournament community. I guess some people want proof that it works before singing your praises for using a technique.
Show me where I said specifically that "I invented the use for it".

Did I believe I was the first to start using it with samus? yes. But did I make such a bold claim as "I invented it before anyone and am the ONLY one that used it". Fuuuuck No. But you sure acted like it. I know I can be wrong, so I try not to make such strong claims unless I'm sure.

That statement was in reference to the instance where PC chris went back home and told Wes that he should start using the technique. PC came back to a tournament here in california to tell me the story. Sorry, but I don't have a video where i can pinpoint 2 seconds of footage in a friendly conversation proving that he said this. My apologies.
I'm sorry to offend you, but when players like m2k, PC, cactuar, etc show legitimate surprise to a Samus jab cancelling, it's hard to believe that you really did pave the way for the use of it on the East coast. If you did I'm sorry, but the bigger people never got to it until they saw my samus doing it. Maybe they didn't catch your friendlies online.
