very good against spacies, you can cover side-b and up-b depending on positioningIt seems like an awkward move. I saw it used in cloudburst's set against Forte to get up from offstage, but what are some other uses?
How do you gimp with dair? The hitbox at the end sends them up. sj dair seems like an interesting mixup, however.IMO it's not an outstanding move, but it's not bad either. You're right that it's kind of awkward, but it does have uses like Jamwa said.
Most important thing to keep in mind about Dair is that Squirtle's entire tail is a disjoint during the move and has no hurtbox. If you space properly, you can gimp a lot of recoveries that lack hitboxes above the character-Fox and Falco are good examples of where Dair is useful.
You can also sling jump off the stage and Dair using your body as an impassable wall. Although this won't work against horizontal disjoints, you can sometimes knock a recovering opponent out of reach before they can even get started this way.
You drag them down with a fast fall and pop them into the stage for a stage spike if they aren't good with teching or don't expect it. Or you fastfall so the last hit doesn't connect. How do you gimp with dair? The hitbox at the end sends them up. sj dair seems like an interesting mixup, however.
