Upstate New York Tournament Thread

I'm thinking for more defensive purposes. Like luring someone into attempting a dash attack or grab then dashing away and pivot nairing instead of side B-ing or pivot grabing.

Getting that grab as Marth is better most of the time, but if you need to land a Nair, you don't have to pivot it. Actually, if you jump in the pivot animation, you'll have no momentum, and might whiff the attack. Just dash out, dash back in and SH Nair or tipper Fair.

um no idea about smash at the apartment. ive been playing mvc

bobby- ummm..not really, no. practice dash dancing. practice changing your lengths, and getting the most length out of one dd. practice your chaingrabs on spacies, practice your out of shield game, practice your wavedashes, PRACTICE WD OOS etc.

also practice doing an aerial and then dashing away really quickly...because if you purposely misspace the aerial to make it look like they can punish it, but they really cant, then you dash away and they miss their punish and you punish them for it

LOL everything you said to practice is exactly what I've been doing. That must be a good thing.
But Im pretty much just getting bored of it because I got noone to test it on out here so I've been looking for new stuff to practice in the mean time.

man im torn between going to a mvc3 and ssf4 tourney or a melee and brawl tourney this weekend. I havent been to anything since apex. O btw im slowly unlocking the true potential of dante in this silly game. surprisingly there actually is a use for just about every one of the 30+ moves that he has.

I think I'm going to try to organize some bi -weekly tournies with very low entry like $1 to get the community going again. I just have to find out where I can hold it and a good system for running it. I want to do some styles of tournie that aren't just double elim like crew battles etc.

mvc3 is relatively hard to get good at, its just that

1. everyone is still bad at it.
2. neil plays the easiest characters.
