*Sniiiiiiiiiiiiiff* Take a wiff of that. Nothing like the smell of more Dojo updates to get ya going. If you remember a while back Sakurai announced that some Melee Stages will be in Brawl and todays update is expanding on that with some screens of old stages with new characters.
<strong>YOSHI’S ISLAND</strong>
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107a-l.jpg" alt="Sadly, it's unlikely you can go in the pipes." />
<!--more-->
Yoshi’s Island is one that many people have mixed feelings. I myself like the stage, except for the steep edge on the right side that you can just walk (or roll) off the edge and die. Anyway, it’s back complete with the spinny hit box things.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107b-l.jpg" alt="You call that a mallet? THIS is a mallet!" />
<strong>THE GREAT FOX</strong>
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107c-l.jpg" alt="On the gooood ship, The Great Fox, it's like a gooood trip to a candy shop..." />
The Great Fox has returned to Corneria and makes this the ships third smash game, it’s first being in Smash 64, though with the background of Sector Z.
As usual it’s a fairly flat stage, just watch out for the Arwings.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107d-l.jpg" alt="Headbutting lasers is not recommended." />
<strong>ONETT</strong>
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107e-l.jpg" alt="Doctor Mario has retired since Melee and now works in the local Drug Store" />
Onett makes a return, which is bound to reignite the Lucas/Ness debate again. Anyway, the town’s trademark buildings are all there, and as usual the speeding cars of the townspeople make a return.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107f-l.jpg" alt="Shame Wario ran into a wall trying to escape." />
<strong>BRINSTAR</strong>
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107g-l.jpg" alt="The new game 'Melting melting magma!'" />
Brinstar is back, bringing the sulphuric smells it’s well known for, along with the acid it’s disliked for. It rises as before so watch out.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107h-l.jpg" alt="Where's Waldo!" />
<strong>RAINBOW RIDE</strong>
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107i-l.jpg" alt="Ironically, you do not ride any rainbows" />
Lastly we have Rainbow Ride, one of the few Scrolling Stages to be used competatively. As per usual, you start on the boat which then sinks, and sends you climbing around the rest of the stage.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/stage21_080107j-l.jpg" alt="Wrong way Kirby....." />
This is already more “retro” stages then were in Melee, and the re’s no hinst as to wether these are all the stages, or if there’s more in store!
