I decided that to get better feedback I could make a new thread for the Peach guide that is being discussed on THIS thread. Anyone who picks up any mistakes or would like to change anything post here. I will +REP anyone who contributes.

Note- I will keep updating this thread so come back and check.
Note- This layout is meant for notepad, so the layout is all weird on the forums.
Note- I am not the greatest peach player so if I am advising something wrong don't be afraid to correct me.

(Im not the greatest with introductions, someone else
should do it)

+=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+
WHY USE PEACH?
+=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+

Peach is ranked 5th highest character in the tier list and with good
reason. Peach has the best horisontal recovery and a float that leads
to powerful and unique techniques. Peach is also great because she is
easier to control than most high tier characters like Fox, Falco, Sheik
and Marth.

-----------
STRENGTHS
-----------

- recovery
- good projectile attack
- good priority
- throws
- floating
- The Downsmash
- gamebreakers: stitchface, bomb-omb

------------
Weaknesses
------------

- slow movement speed
- low range on her attacks
- lack of true KO move
- bad grabs

===========

===========

------------
Standing A
------------
RANK- *
DAMAGE- 3

~ DESCRIPTION ~

A fast basic slap that does little damage and knockback. This
attack is good for interupting or countering slow attacks but
pretty standard and useless.

-----------------
Standing A + A
-----------------
RANK- *
DAMAGE- 2

~ DESCRIPTION ~
A counter slap that does slightly more damage and has more range.
A way to rack up a bit of extra damage if you counter attack with
the standing A. Although there are much better alternatives

------------
DOWN TILT
------------
RANK- ***
DAMAGE- 12

~ DESCRIPTION ~
A slow slap that does high damage . This move is excellent
because knocks opponents into the air, allowing you to start a
combo.

~ HOW TO USE ~
At lower percentages, crouch cancel an opponents attack and retalliate
with this move. Most of the time you end up doing more damage than
the opponent.

Note: you should never CC against fast attacks like fox's continuous
standing attack, Peach's Dtilt is considerably slow for a tilt and
will be interupted by fast continuous attacks.

---------------
FORWARD TILT
---------------
RANK- **
DAMAGE- 13

~ DESCRIPTION ~
A Basic weak and fast tilt that knocks opponents into the air.
At low percentages it shouldn'd be used but at high percentages
is a fast semi efficient way to set up for comboes.

-----------
UP TILT
-----------
RANK- *
DAMAGE- 12

~ DESCRIPTION ~
A headbutt that hits the opponent upwards. This attack is pretty
useless as most attacks outprioritise it. UP SMASH is a better
option to use.

+===============+
SMASH ATTACKS
+===============+

----------------
FORWARD SMASH
----------------
RANK- ***
DAMAGE
Frying Pan- 17
Tennis Racket- 12
Golf Club- 13

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Hits opponent with either a frying pan, a tennis racket or a golf club.
This attack has different range and does different damage depending
on the item peach hits the foe with.
Range wise the Golf club> tennis racket> frying pan.
The golf club and tennis racket both knocks opponents horisonally
while the frying pan hits opponents upwards. This attack is still a
considerably weak attack and should only be used when you need a
fast, high range attack.

-----------
UP SMASH
-----------
RANK- ***
DAMAGE
W- 7
M- 12
H- 16

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Peach spins around and Knocks any adjacent enemies away. This move
has a sweetspot that is very powerful but hard to pull off. The
sweetspotted USMASH knocks opponents straight up very far, an
unsweetspotted USMASH knocks opponents diagonally upwards and does
less damage and lower knockback.

This move is a great finisher if the player gets their timing right
but should not be spammed because of its relatively small hitbox and
that it is hard to pull off correctly.

~ HOW TO USE ~
Peach's sweetspot is at her shoulders meaning that Peach has to
start the attack while the opponent is in the same spot as her
shoulders are. This means the only way that she can get the sweetspot
is if the opponent comes from above.

------------
DOWN SMASH

DESCRIPTION
(its better if it has its own section)

+===============+
ARIAL ATTACKS
+===============+

--------------
NEUTRAL ARIAL
--------------
RANK- ****
DAMAGE- 9

~ DESCRIPTION ~
This is a good attack with high priority and knockback. It has low
start up lag and has a long duration. This attack has similar
characteristics to a 'sex kick'. This attack has a sweetspot that
does higher knockback but same damage.

~ HOW TO USE ~
Because of it's high priority, this move is best used to counter
opponent's arials. In other words if an opponent tries to use an
arial attack on peach her Nair will most likely hit first, blocking
the opponents attack.

---------------
FORWARD ARIAL
---------------
RANK- *****
DAMAGE- 15

~ DESCRIPTION ~
One of Peach's most powerful attacks. This attack does decent damage
and has incredible knock back, it should be every Peach player's top
priority when trying to get the opponent off the stage.

~ HOW TO USE ~
Do a full jump and float. When you are just above the opponent fast
fall into a float cancelled Fair.

------------
BACK ARIAL
------------
RANK- ******
DAMAGE
W- 10
H- 14

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Her ultimate arial. Peach's Bair combined with Inch Floating is
one of the best edge guards in the game. Peach's Bair hits through
pretty much all recovery methods and has a long duration so that even
if peach uses Bair to early, she can float into the enemy.

~ HOW TO USE ~
After knocking the opponent off the stage, turn around Inch float
towards them and hit them with a Bair. Float back to the stage, land
then repeat if necessary. Instead of landing, if the opponent is
far enough, go straight into an edge hog. If a Fox or Falco tries to
use his Across B to recover, use bair and the two space animals will
ram into the Bair, get hit and plummet to his doom.

------------
DOWN ARIAL
------------
RANK- **
DAMAGE- 11 (if all kicks connect)

~ DESCRIPTION ~
One of Peach's weaker arials. Peach kicks multiple times dealing
1 or 2 damage each hit. It has virtually no knockback and is punished
easily by faster characters.

----------
UP ARIAL
----------
RANK- **
DAMAGE- 15

~ DESCRIPTION ~
This move has decent knockback but is restricted because of its very
small range. Peach's Nair is better in most situations although Uair
can be used sometimes. This attack knocks opponents upwards.

+===========+
B ATTACKS
+===========+

---
B
---
RANK- *
DAMAGE- Dependant on the move

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Uses toad to block attacks and counter with damaging spores. As good
as this attack sounds it is not very good. It has considerable start up
lag and after and only blocks frontal attacks. Even if the attack hits
the opponent, at low percentages they can usually hit back.

----------
ACROSS B
----------
RANK- *
DAMAGE- 18

~ DESCRIPTION ~
This attack is also a generally useless attack. The damage isn't that
high and it has a lot of after lag. Peach also unnecessarily screams
out preparing the opponent for the attack.

------
UP B
------
RANK- ****
DAMAGE- 12 Max

~ DESCRIPTION ~
A very good recovery move. This attack jumps peach higher into the
air and gives her greater horisontal control over her DI. The move has
very little start up frames and can stop opponents trying to spike her.
The umbrella also acts as a shield and prevents projectiles from hitting
her from above. As good as it sounds this move should never be used
offensively.

--------
DOWN B
--------
RANK- ******
DAMAGE

~ DESCRIPTION ~

------------
DASH ATTACK
------------
RANK- *****
DAMAGE
W- 7
M- 9
H- 12

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Another one of peach's better attacks, this attack is fast, has high
priority and knocks opponents up into the air, setting them up for
a combo or another Dash attack. This is one of the better dash
attacks in smash bros melee.

~ HOW TO USE ~
This move is best used straight after
a turnip throw. If the opponent is hit or caught the turnip, dash
in and attack them during their lag. This is one of the best dash
attacks in smash bros melee.

-------
GRAB
-------
RANK- ****
DAMAGE- N/A

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Peach's grab is slower and has less range than most grabs. Also, her
running grab has no additional range.Peach's grabs are below average
compared to others but her throws make up for it.

-------------
GRAB ATTACK
-------------
RANK- *
DAMAGE- 3

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Like all grab attacks, Peach's isn't that great. Use it once or twice
at higher percentages but don't get carried away and make sure you
end in a throw.

---------------
FORWARD THROW
---------------
RANK- ****
DAMAGE- 10

~ DESCRIPTION ~
One of the greatest throws. It can kill at 100% if opponents don't
DI and 150% if they DI upwards. This move is great because it knocks
them off the edge allowing them to be edge guarded.

------------
BACK THROW
------------
RANK- **
DAMAGE- 11

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Peach's most damaging throw. It has a decent knockback but should
only be used to get the opponent off the stage for an edge guard.

------------
DOWN THROW
------------
RANK- ***
DAMAGE- 7

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Peach's weakest throw but not her worst. At lower percentages it can
combo straight into a DSMASH. It's disadvantage though is it cab be
tech'd

----------
UP THROW
----------
RANK- ***
DAMAGE- 8

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Peach's combo starter and chain grabber. At 0% this attack can chain
grab fox and falco until 50%. For other characters, UTHROW followed
by a Nair or a Dair.

Note- I'm unsure about chaingrabbing statistics, if I am wrong someone
please correct me.

-------
TAUNT
-------
RANK- ************
DAMAGE- N/A

~ DESCRIPTION ~
Serves no purpose other than annoying your friends which is priceless.
May cause opponents to go insane and die.

i think if you posted on what you wanted people to contrribute, it would be a little easier to make this guide, also, you could use info from the turnip guide for starters, but not the noob guide, that thing sux

Uh, I really have to disagree with the usefulness of her standing a... forward tilt and down tilt more useful? As useless as her utilt? Yeah right... Peach's slap has quite a lot of range when you think about it, it's also fast and has lot of priority behind it since her hand is so small and she reaches out with it. The first slap can be used to interrupt attacks, set up for grabs or other comboes like dsmash, dtilt or whatever you like, or block projectiles like missiles. Float cancelled slap is faster than many shieldgrabs. The second slap can be used to push the opponent further and out of attacking range. Close range slaps work very well in pressurising your opponent in their shields and believe me, slow slapping into dsmash does take away anyone's shield a lot. Way more useful than any of her tilts, I'd give it at least 3 stars.

Aaaagh, stupid piece of crap edit button does not work... again. >_<

Anyways, to add more to my post... peach's jab can be used to reset someone, even after a dsmash while they DI behind you and dsmash them again. And how come peach has bad grab? Both her standing grab and dash grab come out in 7 frames and her grab range is medium, but by no means that bad...

i have to disagree with your evaluation of the down aerial as well. it can be used to set up for many aerial combos and interrupts a lot

it also has some stun on each of the attacks making it easy to hit all four of them, and you can follow it up with an Nair or a Vdrop > Nair

I use it all the time in my matches

Dair is useful, a lot more so than uair and should deserve at least 3 stars. It has decent priority, good reach, multiple hits and almost always leads to either nair or dsmash or grab. Unless the opponent jumps out of it, shields or cc's and does a quick attack like peach's dsmash to counter it, it's a free hit after that. Not to mention it ***** as an edgeguarder in combination with nair, since they can't neither cc it or jump out of it in that position. Dair is **** good as a shieldstabber as well, just float above them and pressurise with dair until they move away and predict this. :3

I agree with Samochan. Many Peaches base their shield pressuring/close range game around jab mixups... it consists of alternating between these moves:

1) jab --> jab2 (sumtimes the % of your opponent is too high so you won't be able to follow with dsmash, low risk low reward pattern)
2) jab --> dsmash (goes through weak shields, punishes spotdodges and rolls that goes past you, some of your opponents will wait the whole match for you to do this *cough*Link *cough*Falcon)
3) jab --> grab/dash grab (punishes an opponent expecting another jab or dsmash)

If you're able to land a float cancelled Fair on your opponent and he blocks it, follow it with a jab and make him guess... he guesses wrong, he dies! If you're both fighting on the ground and you're in grab range, you can also throw a jab so you can try to mix up your opponent after that. You can choose to use a certain option more frequently in order to set up another option:

For example: against fastfallers, you could use 1 and 2 more often, and pull out 3 at chaingrab percentages... chain him, knock him of the ledge, finish him. Next stock, your opponent might expect the same thing when he reaches that same %, so throw number 2 at him and watch him fly: mindgames!

You might find this technique to be godly, but good players know that Peach can do this and will avoid to get caught in that situation at all costs! The hard part will be to get them there! You'll have to corner your opponent or set him up with turnips. Btw, if you're opponent is cornered and low on shield, float cancelled fair --> jab --> dsmash will automatically **** him since he can't roll away from you.

Oh, and concerning Dair, it is a good move. Allows you to attack directly above your opponent, sets up for another aerial, can be used as an edgeguard to bring up opponents that might come from under.

EDIT: I think I already posted this in another old thread, oh well, might be useful to sum of you guys

To start off, have you looked at SDM’s frame data? There are a few specific things in your guide don’t make much sense because they disagree with the frame data. Here is a list of things which I disagree with in your guide, chopped down into sections. I’m not trying to be mean, but since you asked for help, I figured I could help some.

Why use peach?
-if you want to get mediocre quickly, getting good with peach takes several years. That’s what fox and falco are for.
-sheik is easier to control than peach. I would argue you can add marth to that list too.

Strengths and weaknesses
.Peach’s grab is the best grab –framewise- in the game. It starts and ends the fastest out of any character, both standing and dash grabs. Although her grab is ‘shorter’ than a lot of grabs, it does hit in front of her. That is to say, although M2 technically has the longer grab range, M2 essentially grabs behind him (at least when he’s standing.) Peach has a slightly above average grab.

I don’t think peach has a great throw game, it’s mediocre at best.

Peach’s priority isn’t really that great. I count 12 characters conservatively who can keep up with peach on a priority level: luigi, ganon, falco, fox, samus, sheik, link, ylink, jigs, GW, marth, and roy. That’s almost half the remaining characters in the game. Not that great.

Slow movement speed is really just the overwhelming topic of her weaknesses. What it means is she is easily camped, she has a harder time getting into the proper edgeguard position, she has a harder time punishing certain things (rolling), etc. etc. etc. Just saying she’s slow to move, IMO, doesn’t quite address her problems.

Attack list -> Terms
Usefulness is fine and all, but I’d probably break it up a little more. Example: Dsmash is really useful, but its payout isn’t very good typically. Dtilt, on the other hand, is really hard to hit with, but the payout is enormous.

-Peach’s jab is 5 stars at least. It’s better than 95% of other characters jabs.
-Peach’s follow up to the jab I’d give 3. It’s good to knock people away if they’re too close.
-Utilt is a better move than most peach players give it credit for-peach’s head is invulnerable for 3 frames during it, how’s that for priority? Vidjo knows the power of utilt.
-Upsmash needs a little extra: the hitbox at the top is huge, and the sweet spot is reachable if the opponent is grabbed (in teams) or leans into you when their shield is broke.
-DownB, I’d just link them to the turnip guide
-Dash Attack deserves 6 stars; it’s the second or third best dash attack in the game.
-I’ve had success with some opponents grabbing and fthrowing immediately, they tend to miss the DI.
-Peach’s uthrow chain goes on Fox and Falco from 40-100 if they don’t DI, and 40-120 if they do. She chains CF from 30/35-80.

That’s all I got for now. I don’t really like the idea of an overall peach guide, because I attribute the large variance in peach styles at least in part to the lack of a good guide. That was why I didn’t ever write one. However, since you wrote one, and seem to be intent on getting it good, I’ll try to help when I can.

...I know this may sound dumb, but you could add "Light as hell" to weaknesses or something. Cause getting owned by a Fox USmash at like 85% kinda sucks.

I'm not sure what you mean by dthrow being able to be teched. Anything can be teched as long as you have a surface... Or do you mean Peach throwing the opponent before sitting on him/her? That's like Marth's f/bthrows. You can't tech it when they toss you on the ground as part of the animation. Also you might want to add that it can be used to chain floaties when used by people who can't DI. Lol. The chain on Marth goes to 76% and Peach goes to ~59%. I didn't bother testing this on any of the other floaties because it's obsolete anyway. Just trivial data. I would actually say dthrow IS her worst. Use it against a Luigi and you get a nair in the face if you don't immediately shield.

Offensive Parasol is debatable. It's a crappy Screw Attack and can be used against CERTAIN characters in VERY SPECIFIC situations. Parasol out of a shield can dispel some pressure, but make sure you land before them.

Fsmash isn't bad. Standing at the edge and cycling until you get a frying pan is an alternate edgeguard technique, because your next hit will always be the other 2. It might come into use because dsmash is a breeze to tech and due to Peach's slowness you don't always have the time to set up the aerials you would like. I also heard somewhere that Peach's golf club has a sweet spot near the tip, although I've never confirmed it.

Peach bomber can be used as a recovery technique, although that doesn't warrant it any additional use. Lol. It's hilarious to see a Peach bomb her way up Final Destination, although it's so pathetically predictable, anything can edgeguard it.

Other than that... It's spelled 'aerial'. Arial is the font and the city.

you should probably redo this guide, its misleading...and...not very good.....at ALL

1st nair deserves more stars and so does the dair, its one of peach's best attacks, fair isnt even THAT good as you gave credit for, top priority? nairs are so much more easier to land and can have just as good of a knockback

o, sorry, Im not the greatest peach player either....but the guides missing common knowledge any peach player would know like what i said earlier, along with bigrick and samochan. Dont be calling it the "ultimate peah guide" then, its misleading. you also need more on approaches, character match ups, stage tactics blahblah etc, for a dec. basic guide, might as well have doodah write this guide XD...Jk i dont mean that
