The Project M BRSTM Thread

I have a quick question regarding using a pack. I quite like a lot of the songs included in brawl, and by replacing the strm folder within my Project M folder, will it replace all brawl music with the pack? I plan on downloading the jdaster64 pack, and just had that question. Another thing, how will I know what song goes to which stage? Thanks for the feedback.

The way song replacement works is that an individual brstm file replaces an individual song.

A list of what file replaces what song is listed here: http://www.smashboards.com/threads/the-brstm-factory-request-a-song.267789/
For example: an X04.brstm would replace the first song on battlefield.

To answer your question, whatever you put into the strm folder will replace whatever song its labeled to replace. You can go through and remove or change the pieces to other song slots.

Thanks for the reply, but another quick question/observation. In my strm folder, there aren't that many files. This is a fresh download and it looks something like this http://gyazo.com/8fe08b3b791b27c9ea9a9a84bd6e3e7f
Does this mean that they are located in a different spot? Or does that mean it is ok to just put whatever song in the folder.

There's very little actual music in this thread so I'm going to start posting my personal music. Note that I'm sorting them by stage and posting individual links instead of combining them into a giant pack. If you don't like it, deal with it or download someone else's junk.

[Collapse=Normal stages]
Kongo Jungle 64
Mario Party - DK's Jungle Adventure
Excitebike 64 - Congo Course/Rainforest Run
Kongo Jungle 64 song stays in the third slot.

Pokemon Platinum - Frontier Brain battle (remix)
Pokemon Black/White 2 - Champion Iris battle

Sonic Adventure 2 - Green Forest

[/collapse]

[collapse=Texture hacked stages][collapse=Jungle Battlefield]
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26028 (note that I strongly recommend the original version with the transitional lighting because it greatly enhances the atmosphere)

Chrono Cross - Gaia's Navel
Sonic 2006 - The Jungle
Mario Kart: Double Dash - Jungle tracks
Kirby 64 - Rock Star (this song was also used for the jungle level in Neo Star which is why it fits)[/collapse]

[collapse=Desert Battlefield]

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26023

Kirby's Epic Yarn - Hot Land
Kirby's Epic Yarn - Pyramid Sands
Paper Mario - Gusty Gulch
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Desert levels

I also have a couple alternates, songs that meet my standards for "fitting the theme" but I don't have enough song slots for them.
Kirby Mass Attack - Desert Scorcher
Kirby 64 - Rock Star (yes, the first level of Rock Star is a desert level)

And yes, I'm aware that Battlefield normally has 5 song slots. I'm using one of its songs on my main menu so I don't want to replace it, so I only use 4 custom songs.[/collapse]

[collapse=Always daytime Battlefield]

Wario Land: Shake It! - Windbreak Bay
F-Zero GX - Big Blue

Literally all you need. Turn off the other song slots :)[/collapse]

[collapse=Metal Cavern SSE - Light]

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26095

Wario Land: Shake It! - Prism Prison
Metroid Fusion/Extreme-G mashup - "Speed Demon" (I found this from the Random Song button on BCM and I had no idea what it was, but it works)
I just have the Super Mario Land Underground theme on the last slot, but I might find something to replace it with eventually.[/collapse]

[collapse=Paper Mario Yoshi's Island]

Here is the Brawl version; to use it in P:M just export the TextureData onto the new stage

Paper Mario - Flower Fields (must be named E02.brstm)
. . . Paper Mario - Cloudy Flower Fields (must be named E07.brstm to switch with the other one)
Paper Mario - Petunia Under Attack
Paper Mario - Master Battle
Paper Mario - Battle
Paper Mario - Pleasant Path[/collapse]

[collapse=Undersea Ruins FD]
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=34009

Pokemon Black/White - Abyssal Ruins
Wario Land 2 - Get In The Teacup (remastered)
Donkey Kong Country 3 - Water World
Donkey Kong Country - Aquatic Ambiance
Sonic Adventure 2 - Aquatic Mine (Kind of my "comedy" song; doesn't strictly fit my theme if I'm being serious, but I like it anyway)[/collapse]

[collapse=Grassland FD]

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=26341

Harvest Moon: Back To Nature - Spring (this song was my inspiration for making this texture)
Kirby's Dream Land 3 - Grass Land 3
Kirby's Dream Land 3 - Ripple Field 1
Donkey Kong 64 - DK Isle (Fungi Forest)
Wario Land: Shake It! - Ropey Jungle[/collapse][/collapse]

So just a question, are we allowed to post songs we used in Brawlcustommusic's site when we decide to make a pack? I don't know if that's considered cheating or not.

You can have mine. Everything is equalized at volume 85.

Just add this to your GCT with the fusionizer.

ooor, just take my gct with the code already in it. Save you the trouble.

This is 2.6 compatible? I just need to dl the offline one and copy it and paste it in codes and replace?

Yes, it's 2.6 compatible, it's the one I use myself.
And yes, just copy it to your SD card and replace.

It's too subjective seeing Smashboards' tendency to debate. I just like to think that they are all equal and cater to different people. My BRSTMs that I use right now contain lots of inside jokes my group of friends share, along with many songs I enjoy from random series.

I am assuming the reason the code (not the file with everything ready) needs to be updated is because page 1 has a different layout?

Yup. That one line equalizes the volume.

Yes! Thank you so much! I'm still working on a music project for this right now, but with the air conditioning off and it almost reaching 100 here, I can't tell how fast my computer will overheat. I'm still working on it!

One more question: can anyone tell me where I might find the music being used in this match?

It's groovy, and I want it.

Instead of using a BRSTM converter I decided I would try the Audacity and Brawlbox method. If I open the .wav file up in BBox and the sample size is only like 22, and I just get a quick beep what did I do wrong? I am using this guide.

I figured this out a long time ago btw, in fact I should have a BRSTM pack up soon.

Here or here ya go, splat.

Elbow - Grounds for Divorce (Instrumental) (Menu)
Eric Clapton - I Shot The Sheriff
Gatchaman - In The Name Of Love (Smashville)
Gumi - Life Cheating Game
House Rulez - High School Disco (Night) (Smashville)
InternetExplorer6 - Legacy (Menu)
InternetExplorer6 - The Comfy Room (Results Screen)
Journey ft. Barry - Separate Ways (GOTTA GO FAST Mix) (WarioWare)
Mayhem - Nintendon't (Pictochat)
Mayhem - Stylostyler (Smashville)
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (Smashville)
TeddyLoid - Fly Away (Panty & Stocking) (Fountain of Dreams)
TeddyLoid - Theme for Scanty & Kneesocks (Panty & Stocking) (WarioWare)
The Prodigy - Stand Up (No Intro) (Menu, obv.)
Mighty Switch Force 2 - Title

(I know some of these have been done by others before, but I looped all of these myself because the ones I found didn't loop well enough, imo)

I figure this would be the best place to ask for this.

What are some good remixes or different versions of the main menu music from Melee?
I have one orchestrated, but I've heard a "modern" one the other day, but I can't remember what it was called exactly.
