The trio of musicians behind Gorillaz' first incarnation, Albarn, Del the Funkee Homosapien and Dan the Automator, had previously worked together on the track "Time Keeps on Slipping" for Deltron 3030's eponymous debut album. The song can be seen as the genesis of the musical style that continued into Gorillaz' first album.

the game aint in me no more
the new Envy album is so good
they're a japanese band that started out as hardcore/screamo and now have mixed in elements of post rock to create a unique sound:

Some of my favorite cuts off their new album:
0 and 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcrPV9geYmU
Dreams Coming To An End - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuQqCAWTbKQ (This is one of the best punk songs I've heard in years)

One of my other favorite tracks:
Life Caught in the Rain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86FqnQWUQjY

These guys came to the states for the first time in years and I didn't hear about it until it was too late because I didn't have any internet! BUMMER!

i really like what squarepusher's doing in that track
it seems like he was too skilled for his own good, which made for a lot of disorganized or out of control tracks

but this reminded me of the chord changes in planetarium, but being more consistent of a song. i really like it.

i'd also love for a little more weirdness though. looking forward to this new album
