1. GameCube controller. The C-Stick is very useful for most characters. It also provides stiff precision that the 3ds doesn't have. As for the Pro Controller, it's more of a preference thing, but most of us on here prefer the GameCube one.
2. As a side event, possibly. In the main matches, no, almost without dispute. That would kind of ruin the point of the tournament.

I love my wii u pro controller. But I haven't had the chance to grab an adapter yet for a GCC so only time will tell if the old king reclaims its thrown.
