In all honesty, I find his matches less safe for work than coitus films. Hopefully there will be IRL up-tilts in pornography in the near future.

For the past couple of years, Super Smash Bros. Melee has been growing at a monster pace, with top players receiving sponsorships left, right and center. Today, another fan favorite player has received a sponsorship. Ganondorf expert and style aficionado, Jason Yoon, better known as BizzarroFlame, has received a sponsorship from Team YP!

BizzaroFlame looking sexy in his new jersey!
TeamYP is an eSports team affiliated with pornography sharing website YouPorn, and they are most notably involved in competitive Dota 2. BizzarroFlame is the first fighting game player that they've sponsored in their history, and it's no surprise that BizzarroFlame was their choice. He could be content simply being a top level Ganondorf, but Bizzaro prefers to win while styling on his opponents in every conceivable way, making him a great player to watch. You'd be hard-pressed to find a tournament set of his where he doesn't go for an up-tilt or Warlock Punch. BizzarroFlame wins hearts with every fluid waveland and hard read he makes, and he has firmly inserted himself into the conversation as the best Ganondorf player in Super Smash Bros. Melee. KhanYe is pumped to see a Ganon player get sponsored. Follow me on Twitter at @aymangolassi to talk about everything.
I love how he hyperlinked YouPorn!

With Coasty and Bizzy both having porn sponsors now, who knows what we'll see next? Maybe alcohol companies will want to capitalize on the Melee market and we'll have Jack Daniels Mang0 or Jose Cuervo Hungrybox. I could even see us getting a westboro baptist church player. That's edgy af

Stream chat will always be vulgar/unsuitable for younger audiences regardless of the topic. I remember during an interview with M2K at EVO 2014(I think it was EVO anyways) the chat kept asking M2K who his favorite porn star was, when the topic was lightyears away from anything relating to porn. Also, if the kid is 11 years old I doubt they'd be going to tournaments anyways and if their parents are watching everything they do on the computer all the time and say the kid can't watch/play a game because of something someone on the internet said, that's just sad. And if it wasn't someone making a dumb joke relating to Bizzaro's sponsorship, it'd be someone else making a dumb joke relating to something else unsuitable for younger audiences. Competitive smash's target audience is not 11 year old kids with uptight parents.

The team that is sponsoring Bizarro is a Dota 2 team. I don't think I need to tell you how large Dota 2's competitive scene is. Dota 2 is doing just fine as an Esport and while that is due largely to the fact that Valve supports it, I highly doubt melee's growth will be stunted by sponsorships from more controversial companies. If anything, I think we'll see a little more growth/interest from it. Sure, these sponsorships don't help the stereotypical view that smash players have right now, but they do give the game a little more exposure and someone may read about a melee player sponsored by a site they frequent(heh) and decide to watch a video of them playing. Boom, potential fan/player has been gained.

I'm not saying these sponsorships don't have their drawbacks, but it's a foothold that we can work with to gain more exposure.
good post

Agreed. Melee will never be Esports if this kind of stuff continues in my opinion.
I just can't agree with this. Team YP is as serious a sponsorship as Cloud 9. A sponsor is a sponsor, no matter what the company's product. Sure, it's not exactly subtle but it's not damaging whatsoever.

To say porn sponsors are not going to drive people away from the industry is just naive.
