Truth be told (and this may be an unpopular opinion especially with fans) I know Sonic is an obnoxious and stupid character in this game but I don't mind seeing him being played. I think its kinda cool to see a 3rd party representative in the meta (and no brawl doesn't count because of Meta Knight, sorry Snake) but that's just me. And its not like Sonic is unbeatable anyway.

Beating Sonic as lucario is actually a near unbeatable situation, its like a 90-10 match up, the only real usable thing lucario has against sonic is aura sphere.
