So far there have been over 70 guides submitted to the Smashboards guide system! Per the announcement in October, we have several rewards and contests going on in accordance with the launch of this system. The winner of the 1st contest, who had the highest rated guide with over 50 ratings, is Sethlon - go here to see his guide on using Roy in Project M! Sethlon will receive $100 for having put in the quality work, as well as the recognition others have shown for it.
It's time to move into the second phase of our contest relating to the guide system. Initially we had hoped to establish a thread for submitting guides and voting on those guides earlier this month. With the launch of Super Smash Brothers for Wii U things fell a bit behind. Here are the new details of the "Top Voted" guide contest:
Top Voted Guide Rules
Since we are extending the dates a bit, we've added an additional $50 to the this contest! The top 4 vote-getting guides (based on the news article that gets posted on December 15) will get:
1st - $100
2nd -$50
3rd - $25
4th - $25
How Can I Create a Guide?
Creating a guide is easy! Simply go to the new Smashboards Guide section, select a game, a character, and then "Create Guide". You can add images, font, colors, and gifs to your guide. The guide will also auto-generate a thread in the respective character specific forum so people can talk about it and find it easily. Finally, users can also rate your guide and provide feedback!
Okay, What Now?
1 - If you're not going to make a guide, take a moment to check out what guides are there and then reply to THIS news article with your favorite - we'll make sure to include it in the voting news article on the 15th.
2 - If you want to have a chance to win the cash at stake, make sure you've got a solid guide! Don't have a guide yet? Make one!
