ClueFinders stage:

The Living Volcano

So far, (almost) all stages in PBS Kids: Brawltime! have had more of a calm, colorful and very educational feel to them, but it's time for things to take a walk on the wild side and include a stage that seems pretty.....wild! Hailing from the ClueFinders' 5th Grade adventure, meet the Living Volcano who might have been responsible for the disappearance of many ships near the island it resides on, and just many unusual activity on its island altogether. Layout-wise, it can start on a boat being attacked by falling volcanic rocks, which seriously pack a punch!, being able to KO at pretty low damage percents, like at 75% at the very least, so you don't wanna mess with em'! The stage then transitions to the island itself where more volcano rocks fall from the sky, and then onto the top of the Living Volcano, before going IN the volcano, making this the first stage in-game to have lava as a hazard! What's the best way I can describe this layout visual-wise? Well........take a look at those images below to get references for each stage section sequence, top to bottom!

Then it loops to the top to cycle all over again

Also in terms of the moveset for the ClueFinders, I got none unfortunately, but I must say that I do really dig Cyborg Sun's idea of having each ClueFinder as an alt, with Joni Savage being the default ClueFinder. Also, LapTrap can fallow the ClueFinder at all times too.

Alright, so I will close the mini guest Party Pack job so the PBS adult block will get it, congrats to me! The ClueFinders stage job, moveset job and Legacy Skin prompt jobs will stay open! Now, on to the other stage jobs!

Job 448:

Submit two stages based on other Learning Company games. The games you base the stages off of MUST be original Learning Company IPs

Job 449:

Submit a stage based on one of the adventure/puzzle games from the 80s The Learning Company made.

Job 450:

Submit a stage based on a PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company game or games. You can do a combination of games or just a stage based on one game.

As usual, describe each stage's layout, hazards, and/or gimmicks if any. Regardless, get submitting and use your imagination!

Learning Company Stages

Word Factory (Reader Rabbit)

1-1.png

You knew I had to submit a stage idea for Reader Rabbit but I did not want to do another homebase themed stage so...why not do one based on an iconic location that appeared in many games? Basically, you start outside the factory with walkoff zones and with the railway nearby with the train delivering word packages. Then, it goes through the many rooms of the factory where you fight on areas with no walkoffs with conveyor belts, words forming and then you get to the packaging room. Be careful of the other Word Factory equipment! You can also play the games in each sections similar to playing a Reader Rabbit game. It's overall educational fun when you are in such a pivotal building for Wordville!

Zoombiniville (Zoombinis)

ezgif-5-ff690f3a3a.jpg

The home of the Zoombinis is here and your fighting on it! Basically, there are areas with walkoffs but you stay on a grounded stage. Each time, you will notice that 16 Zoombinis will appear, they will build a new building. However, if a fighter attacks the Zoombini party...they won't build anything as you need 16 Zoombinis to build new buildings. If you get in the way of their construction, you will get damaged as well! It's a fun stage honoring the Zoombinis' new settlement!

Adventure/Puzzle Learning Company game

Robotroplis (Robot Odyssey)

37d05276-7113-47b8-aec8-656f9e49cdef.png.jpg

Robot Odyssey was dubbed one of the hardest computer games of all time. So...we bring the challenge to PBS Kids: Brawltime! Basically, you go through the game solving puzzles as the stage itself is the game! You will have to collect parts to design the circuits to solve the puzzles. From time to time on this stage, you will visit the Innovation Lab and get some more pieces needed. The fun thing is...each fighter gets a robot and each time you complete a puzzle, you get a huge stat buff since this game is tough after all! Each area has walkoffs though but if you get a puzzle wrong, you will get a tiny circuit shock only giving you a little bit of damage! A super fun stage idea here to teach the players about electrical engineering! One of our PBS Kids: Brawltime! fighters would LOVE this stage after all!

PBS Kids Tie-In Learning Company Stage

Learning Company Memories

This is yet another traveling stage that will hint at a tie-in product that I will reveal later but let's celebrate the catalog of Learning Company PBS Kids games the Learning Company has came out with for various PBS Kids shows...

The stages will go in order of the series's PBS Kids network debut but it would start off at some screen with the cover arts of the games and click on each one as you travel to them. Each game will have you play one game from each of the various PBS Kids tie in games.

First....

The River Game (Arthur's Camping Adventure/Arthur's Wilderness Rescue)

arthur-s-wilderness-rescue_10.jpg

You will fight on the sides of the river and hopefully not fall into the water. However, you will also have to help Arthur, Buster or another Arthur character cross the river by helping them stay balanced. If you are the fighter that helps that character stay balanced, you get a major stat buff! If you push them to your doom, the wild life will come after you like those bad bugs and REALLY give you damage! You can also fall into the river too so be careful!

Then....

Smart Fox Matching Game (Zobomafoo: Creature Quest)

Screenshot 2024-04-21 at 12.46.35â¯PM.jpg

Like the game itself, you must match the objects by hitting one of the caches. If you get a match, you get an item. If you do not get a match, you do not get an item. The fighter who got the most matches overall gets a super powerful item! There are walkoffs here as well and Zaboo will tell you whether or not you got a match or not. There are walkoffs here and the caches act as somewhat platforms.

The third game will be...

Tap The Tune (Caillou: Magic Playhouse)

51VE+mTfkwL._AC_UF350,350_QL80_.jpg

You fight on the xylophone and watch Caillou's babysitter, Julie play the notes. Tap the notes in the right order to get a stat buff! Get a note wrong and get penalized with a minor stat nerf. The xylophone is the stage and you cannot fight on the table. It's a smaller and more chaotic stage.

The fourth game will be....

Balloon Balancing (Jay Jay the Jet Plane: High-Flying Sky Circus)

Screenshot 2024-04-21 at 1.18.30 PM.png

This game involves you fighting on a small platform between two hot air balloons and you need to help Old Oscar balance the balloons by putting sandbags on them! Watch out because if one is totally off balance, you will fall with it! There are no ledges or walkoffs so be prepared to be sky high! If you balance the balloons, you will be rewarded with a super cool strong item to perform some tricks for the high-flying sky circus!

Game #5 will be....

The Window Opening Game (Cyberchase: Castleblanca Quest)

cyberchase-castleblanca-quest_17.jpg

You simply have a grappling hook on the stage and must open each window by only using the grappling hook by attacking it! Open the most windows and get a stat buff! The various platforms act as platforms and there are walkoffs. It's a simpler layout.

The final game will be....

Report the News! (Liberty's Kids)

12268f5dba2ae47ce616cf8e233d0a62.jpg

Like the game itself...you get to report news on seven different events in American history! You start by talking to the townsfolk being able to hit the various question words and the Ask and Save buttons. Then, you need to choose the best information to report the story. The boxes act as ledges and there are no walkoff blastzones. Be the best reporter and get the ultimate stat buff as this game is one of the harder games to do so read carefully but fight as well!

You go back to the beginning and restart the cycle. Instead of just doing one PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company game...why not do one from each of the six franchises that got Learning Company tie-in games?

Now...for a ClueFinders moveset...

The ClueFinders
Series: The ClueFinders
Debut: The ClueFinders 3rd Grade Adventures: The Mystery of Mathra (January 6, 1998)

desjvwx-50703422-6180-4fa4-9df3-466bd487b74a.png

Joni: "I dunno, but we're gonna find out!"
Santiago: "Electrical circuits are my specialty!"
Leslie: "This is exciting!"
Owen: "I never met a pizza I didn't like."

The ClueFinders are middleweight fighters who excel at zoning when needing space to solve a puzzle. However, when in disadvantage, the character who is being used is a glass cannon. One hit into a combo and they are out of there. No matter if you are playing as Joni, Santiago, Leslie or Owen, their stats are all the same. They all have slightly above-average stats and are very risk and reward-based fighters based on how well you play as them. Also, due to the characters not being from PBS Kids, their trap is in the form of the red trapezoid which is basically the logo for The Learning Company instead of the PBS P-Head. Also, throughout the battle, LapTrap will follow you and use quipping when you are in a pickle in the fight.

Gimmick:

Inventory Usage and Puzzle Solver

Throughout the match, the ClueFinder you play as has an opportunity to solve puzzles and get some neat inventory to help you fight! The puzzles will increase in difficulty depending on how well you solve them. You fail a puzzle, you get stunned. However, if you get a puzzle right, you get a special reward for your inventory that can give you a stat buff or even some item to use. It's honestly a handy gimmick if you use it well!

Light Neutral: Take Your Call!

In this move, the ClueFinder will pull out the video phone and take the call, causing any damage to the fighters nearby. The stronger variant of this move will cause the fighter to pull out the phone more vigorously, causing more damage. This move is spammable but the stronger variant takes a little more time to come out.

Light Up: The Key To Victory!

In this move, the ClueFinder will raise one of the Golden Keys from The ClueFinders 3rd Grade Adventures: The Mystery of Mathra showing off one of the many treasures that they have found over the years. The light variant makes a GREAT combo starter. However, the stronger variant causes the ClueFinder to swing the key up more vigorously.

Light Down: Placing Down the CrypTiles

From The ClueFinders 5th Grade Adventures: Secret of the Living Volcano, the ClueFinder will simply place down a CrypTile on the ground. It's the slowest of the light moves and not that great of a combo starter. However, the stronger variant causes you to place two tiles down at once! Talk about some fast placing and some strong placing!

Neutral Special: The Puzzle We Must Solve!

This is where the ClueFinder's main gimmick lies. This move is a slow buildup as the ClueFinder will solve a puzzle relating to math, English, science, social studies, etc. Any subject covered in the ClueFinders game is fair game here. If you solve a puzzle correctly, you get a piece for your inventory and the puzzles increase in difficulty! However, if you solve a puzzle incorrectly, you get temporarily nerfed so be sure to solve them right the first time to reap the ultimate rewards for clue-finding!

Up Special: The Airplane from Cairo

Referencing The ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures: Puzzle of The Pyramid, you simply ride the airplane that took the ClueFinders home and you will see Socrates barking for a second. The plane rises slowly and then lands. Anyone in the airplane's way will get slight damage from the landing and flight trajectory. The plane will go in a bit of an arc but the recovery is easy to predict so be careful when you use it, because you are open for spikes!

Down Special: Inventory Checking!

Here is the second part of the ClueFinder's main gimmick where you are able to check your inventory of things to use. Each item is based on an object from a ClueFinders game, various items such as Goo Beetles bags which will allow your trap to have a longer stun rate, Village Treasures giving you a super powerful item, etc. The list can go on for each item's function but be careful when choosing as this move has a slow startup. You choosing your inventory and then being attacked can cause you to lose that item!

Entrance:

The ClueFinder will walk out from one of the settings from a ClueFinders game and LapTrap will tell the fighter "Are you sure you want to do this?"

Taunt:

The ClueFinder will have Socrates come out and pet them and LapTrap will say "Hey, this isn't bad after all!"

Victory Animation:

The ClueFinder along with the other ClueFinders will all celebrate with Socrates there and LapTrap will say "Our clues lead us to victory!"

Losing Animation:

The ClueFinder will clap being a good sport and LapTrap will say "I told you it wasn't a good idea to do this!"

Ok...a moveset was very tricky but I tried. If anyone wants to come up with item functions based on the items from the ClueFinders games for the Inventory functions, please do. I came up with some examples so I hope this is a good start.

Ok, I don't know if this is considered cheating, but I'm submitting two Reader Rabbit stages!

Learning Company Stages

Cloud Nine (Reader Rabbit: Capers on Cloud Nine!)

Rr1cc9_cloud_nine.png

This location hails from Reader Rabbit's 1st Grade Dreamship tale! On this very adventure, Reader and Sam along with their other friends, Paige and Chester, travel on their Dreamship to Cloud Nine to investigate the case of some falling raingear coming from the clouds. Personally, I've always had a knack for arenas that take place in the clouds. Layout-wise, I don't have much, other than like a hazardless Kalos Pokémon League made out of clouds.

Cheddar Cheese Cliff (Reader Rabbit: Mis-Cheese-ious Dreamship Adventures!)
Rr2mcda_cliff.png

On Reader's 2nd grade Dreamship tale, he along with his crew have to retrieve their Dreamship before it gets stolen by the Pi-Rats (Presumably because they want a better ship, but it's never confirmed why they want the Dreamship). What you see above acts as this stage's layout! You can even see Mount Cheesemore in the background as well as Gorgonzola walking by occasionally!

Alright, so I will close voting. Here are the results:

Katie Cadet: 0 :(
Reader Rabbit: 4
The ClueFinders: 8
Zoombinis: 2
Super Seeker: 0 :(

It seems the team of four kids who are great at solving mysteries....the ClueFinders join PBS Kids: Brawltime! Congrats to Cyborg Sun Cyborg Sun for his awesome submission! This technically counts as our first female fighter here as well given Joni Savage is the leader of the team and the founder of the ClueFinders as well! They make so much sense here.

Job 444 is still open so get your submissions in for that. Also, be sure to answer the discussion question whenever you have a chance to! Now, onto the next wave of jobs!

Job 445:

Submit a moveset for the ClueFinders. Keep their inventory usage/puzzle solving gimmick in mind when designing their moveset.

Job 446:

Submit a homestage for The ClueFinders. Describe its layout, hazards, and/or gimmicks.

Job 447:

For the first time ever, submit any Legacy Skin ideas for the PBS Kids characters for The ClueFinders pack based on Learning Company IPs. We will have at least one character cosplaying as a character from a Learning Company IP but try to think of another type of Legacy Skin we can give a character here. The Legacy Skin job prompt MUST stick with the Learning Company theme!

Get submitting and use your imagination!

ClueFinders Stage

ClueFinders Clubhouse

View attachment 388205

I mean...this is where the ClueFinders meet after all. Basically, you fight inside the clubhouse and there are ledges as well given the doors will open once in a while. Here is where you can also see all the various items of interest to the ClueFinders as well as even see various items from the many ClueFinders games as well in the background as Easter Eggs. If the ClueFinders are not selected as a fighter, they will appear in the background doing their own thing and hanging out. You may see other characters from the ClueFinders series cameo as well in the background if you fight long enough!

Legacy Skin Idea:

Submit a Legacy Skin
based on a former IP/company owned by The Learning Company!

I am sure some people may like this idea but...The Learning Company owned other edutainment games like KidPix and the Living Books games for a short while. We can potentially do a Legacy Skin based on those given the fact that they were owned by the company for a brief time. Not to spoil anything but....KidPix and a few Living Books games may appear in one of my tie-in product ideas for this awesome DLC pack! So, there's that promotional effect as well!

To answer my discussion question that I posed earlier, I do feel for the PBS Kids Archives stuff...I did have the idea for website games...we can design a whole original PBS Kids microsite based on The Learning Company. THAT would be awesome and it would be very early 2000s inspired for sure. We can decide on whether or not we can do all original website games or crossover website games. There will be more video games than website games, however. As for another thing...I feel we can do an exclusive one-off Learning Company crossover special that would hypothetically air on PBS Kids in the 2000s for the PBS Kids Archives giving it the 2000s treatment with the funding credits and all.

As for video games....this is where the SPECIAL SURPRISE may pop up that I'm planning so...I'll explain when we get closer ;)

I may submit a moveset idea for the ClueFinders later.

Now, onto some assists and a Learning Book set.

Job 451:

Submit an assist based on a character or thing seen in the ClueFinders games.

Job 452:

Submit two assists based on a character or thing from another Learning Company IP. Each one must be from a different series so one per series.

Job 453:

Submit an assist based on a character or thing from an adventure/puzzle game the Learning Company made from the 80s and such.

Job 454:

Create a Learning Book set for the ClueFinders.

Describe what each assist does and its function. Get submitting and use your imagination!

ClueFinders Assist

Mathra

0*jRAvJZMqe_MfFu8x.png

It's been a while since we've done a villainous assist...plus this character is from the first ClueFinders game and fits in with the Neon Gaming City at the end due to the city itself being based on Japanese pop culture and Mathra is definitely a reference to Mothra from the Godzilla series. Basically, this colossal dragon will appear and start attacking your foes aiding you. Funny enough, he's actually helping out the fighters. He'll breathe small bits of fire giving the fighters some damage. However, when the assist meter is full, he goes full kaiju mode and attacks everyone and everything in sight giving massive damage! One thing to note is that Mathra is an unique assist as the other fighters can attack him. When attacked enough, he will be "trapped" for a short while like what happened to him in the Numerian Rainforest a long time ago...

Learning Company Assists

Reader Rabbit

ezgif-4-849c50767c.jpg

I had to go with the main rabbit himself. After all, he's one of The Learning Company's biggest names! As an assist, he will simply give the player some sort of task to do where he will make letters or numbers spawn on the battlefield. Do the task right and he'll give you an item from the inventory. When the assist meter is full, the stakes get higher as the problems increase in grade level difficulty. Solve the higher level problems, you will be likely to get stronger items from Reader Rabbit's inventory! Be careful though, a wrong problem can penalize you causing a stat nerf! But, Reader Rabbit is here to make learning and fighting fun!

Super Seeker

super-solvers-treasure-mountain_6.png

He would appear in his sprite form but as an assist, he's basically like if Shovel Knight from Rivals of Aether was an assist. Basically, you have to find a various amount of an object based on something from a Super Seekers or Super Solvers game. These will spawn on the battlefield. More of your object currency will come based on how well you do in the fight. When you get enough, you can see Super Seeker for a treasure chest which contains things like an item, sometimes a stat buff, etc. However, when the assist meter is full, the treasures become greater and the costs of them become higher! You can now get treasures like Super Seeker sending out a deadly treasure chest to the winning fighter to get instantly KOd, get a super strong item, get a super stat buff, get a triple jump, etc. The possibilities are endless. However, if you get KOd, your object count will start from 0 again.

Adventure/Puzzle Game

Gertrude (Gertrude's Secret's/Gertrude's Puzzles)

gertrude-s-puzzles_1.png

A simpler assist based on an older Learning Company IP but basically, Gertrude will have a puzzle to solve that she will do for you. After a little while, she will ask you to attack a certain shape, a certain color, etc. Doing so will grant Gertrude the ability to place her puzzles on the ground so other fighters can get reverse controls as they are puzzled by her puzzles! When the assist meter is full, she will simply put down more bamboozling puzzles on the ground causing the reverse control effect on the other fighters as she is great at them!

ClueFInders Learning Book Set

  • Tier 1 (Takes up 1 slot)
    • Got A Call to Take! (The ClueFinders's Light Neutral will come out faster and have some more damage on it!)
    • Faster Keys for Victory! (For the ClueFinders's Light Up, it will come out faster!)
    • The Quickventory(For the ClueFinders's Down Special, it will come out faster and allow you to choose an item from your inventory faster!)
    • Preparing for Takeoff! (For the ClueFinders's Up Special, it will have some more height as well as give a bit more damage!)
  • Tier 2 (Takes up 2 slots)
    • The Stronger CryptoTiles (Now, the ClueFinders's Light Down is more spammable and can deal a bit more damage!)
    • A Clue for Success! (Now, the ClueFinders's gain a stat buff to assist them!)
    • Second Chances for a Puzzle (Now, for the ClueFinders's Neutral Special, you get a second chance if you get a puzzle wrong to solve it again!)
  • Tier 3 (Takes up 3 slots)
    • Double Keys for Victory! (Now, for the ClueFinders's Light Up, you get double the keys and double the damage!)
    • Super Inventory Stuff! (All the items you get in the ClueFinders's inventory when you solve puzzles will be super strong items!)
  • Tier 4 (Takes up 4 slots)
    • The Top Clue Finders to Solve the Top Puzzles! (Now, for the ClueFinders's Neutral Special, they will get the highest level of puzzles automatically at the start and when solving a puzzle right, they get invincibility!)

ClueFinders Item

Bookerangs

Bookerang.png

Straight from ClueFinders: Mystery Mansion Arcade comes these handy items! They spawn in large quantities and can fall. If you attack one falling down, you catch it and you can use this Bookerang as a boomerang to stun your opponents for some seconds. It's a super cool stunning item. Also, there is a very rare chance a bookerang can really KO an opponent as if you cut a rope to let someone go. It's the item PERFECT for betrayal!

Learning Company Items

Brillites (Reader Rabbit)

maxresdefault.jpg

From Reader Rabbit Preschool: Sparkle Star Rescue, we get these bright jewels called Brillites. This is another item that spawns in a good quantity. A fighter can simply pick one up and each one has a surprise. If you find a blue Brillite, you can make a rainbow geyser appear causing any fighter that's standing above the Brillite to get BLASTED upward! Sometimes, you may stun an opponent with them, reverse their controls, cause them to get a stat buff, etc. May the odds be in the Brillities!

Klanker (Starflyers)

15696895-starflyers-alien-space-chase-windows-it-looks-like-the-space-pol.png

This is a fun idea I found from the Starflyers games but Katie's steel robot joins the fight as an item. He'll rarely appear and only function if you hit him. When you do, he will simply walk around and then give one mighty punch like he's punching through a wall to really knock your opponents away! He will only do this once AND be careful, the other fighters can attack him and cause him to malfunction so be on your guard!

Adventure/Puzzle Game Item

Rocky's Boots

maxresdefault.jpg

Ok...you are LITERALLY using Rocky's Boots here and they spawn in pairs. Throughout the battle, there will be logic gates that spawn that you must collect so the boot or boots can kick the right fighter. After a little while, if no one gets any logic gates, the boots do nothing. However, if a fighter collects all the logic gates in time, the boot will be like a Blueshell-esque item and target the top fighter and KICK them off the stage! This item is VERY HARD to make sure it does the best thing it can do so...really try to get those logic gates.

PBS Kids Tie-In Video Game Item

Musical Sparkleberries (Jay Jay the Jet Plane)

Screenshot 2024-04-23 at 7.45.31 PM.jpg

From the Jay Jay the Jet Plane PC game, Sky Heroes to the Rescue, you get some musical Sparkleberries. My dad would personally LOVE this item as he still makes Jay Jay the Jet Plane references to me and occasionally mentions Pangabula Island and the Sparkleberry Tree with its sparkleberries. Regardless though, these sparkleberries will appear and can be used to play a song of some form like in the final minigame of the game itself. You simply have to listen for the order of the Sparkleberries to hit them in the right order to play the tune. Play the berries in the right order and you will get ALL the sparkleberries in your mouth to be consumed and your fighter will get healed very well AND be invincible for a short while! I guess this is the Sparkleberry Tree's way of saying thanks!

Learning Champion Stage Forms:

  • The Living Volcano (Why not do guest character stages this time? It'll be like the Wuhu Island omega form but in the volcano with some slanted platforms madeof magma to add some platform variety and make the stage layouts have more variety.)
  • Learning Company Memories (It would simply be the classic Isle Delfino layout traveling through the games without you playing them. They will just be in the background and you can toggle the background to be distracting or just static of the game boxes.)
  • The D-Struct's Lair and Cave (It would be a layout similar to Yoshi's Story from Melee with lava clouds acting as the Randall's. I know we wouldn't add any more PBS Kids Sprout/Universal Kids content but since we are adding a guest character, why not give the first guest character's home stage the Learning Champion Stage Form treatment?)

Here's my sole submission for a Learning Champion stage:

Fred's Backyard and Nature Adventures, now with 100% less "Nature Adventures" and 100% more "Christmas." Yup, I'm giving the already premium Christmas Cat costume its own stage now too, lol. This version of the stage takes place in the bleak alternate future seen in "A Nature Carol." The stage stays in a more competitively viable version of the backyard area (which is now in a basic Battlefield layout, minus the top platform), with no transitions... and no nature. Gotta make room for all those new Christmas gifts, and that competitive viability. But is the sacrifice of nature truly worth it...? (The "Nature Analysis" Easter Egg also does not work here)

Learning Company Item

Singing Marbles (Reader Rabbit)

latest.png

On Reader Rabbit and his crew's adventure to Cloud Nine, they had to play learning activities to earn Singing Marbles to solve patterns on Marvin the robot to obtain.......just one pillow.

As an item, they work like a combination of Shulk's Monado Arts, Kanohi Masks and the Dragoon/Daybreak. Like the Dragoon and Daybreak, 3 Singing Marbles are required to collect to activate them, and collecting 3 has them sing a small melody before activating their buffs and benefits. Like Monado Arts and Kanohi Masks, each color marbles grants a different temporary stat buff or benefit for the one who collected 3 of them, just without the Monado Arts drawbacks. When 2 of the same color are collected, the stat buff tied to the two same color marbles will have a stronger effect than the one different colored marble, which grants a smaller effect of its respective buff. When 3 different colored marbles are collected, the fighter is granted a random small stat buff or benefit of the 3 Singing Marbles they collected available. When 3 of the same color are collected, the fighter is granted a REALLY STRONG stat buff or benefit that are plain very powerful, because face it, what's the chance that you'll collect 3 marbles of the same color? It's pretty low.

Here are each color Singing Marbles and their respective buffs and benefits below:

Red - Shielding: Increases a fighter's launch and damage resistance, like Shulk's Shield Monado. Three of them can make the fighter resist a ton of damage and able to not flinch from most attacks!
Orange - Strength: Increases a fighter's damage dealing and launch power, like Shulk's Buster and Smash Monados, Hero's Oomph, and Xerneas. Three of them can let the fighter deal a guaranteed critical hit for their next move that can one-hit KO anyone even at relatively low damage precents!, like Hero's Psych Up and Incineroar's Revenge.
Yellow - Agility: Increases a fighter's speed movement and jump height, Like Hero's accelerate and Shulk's Speed and Jump Monados. Three of them can grant the fighter infinite jumps and gain an up special similar to Hero's zoom! The fighter will also gain a special dash ram ability, allowing them to damage and launch other fighters as long as they're dashing.
Green - Healing: Heals the fighter, the more marbles, the more damage is healed, with three being able to heal back to 0%!
Blue - Intervention: Damages all other fighters and grants the fighter an item, the more marbles, the more damage the others receive and the rarer the items the fighter can receive, with three being able to damage others by 150% and grants the fighter ANY item that's very rare and very powerful!

Also, similar to the Dragoon and Daybreak, the fighter will drop a Singing Marble if they take enough damage.

Brillites (Reader Rabbit)

View attachment 388403

From Reader Rabbit Preschool: Sparkle Star Rescue, we get these bright jewels called Brillites. This is another item that spawns in a good quantity. A fighter can simply pick one up and each one has a surprise. If you find a blue Brillite, you can make a rainbow geyser appear causing any fighter that's standing above the Brillite to get BLASTED upward! Sometimes, you may stun an opponent with them, reverse their controls, cause them to get a stat buff, etc. May the odds be in the Brillities!

All my items besides my Reader Rabbit item will be added as well as my Learning Champion Stage forms and the one form Cyborg Sun submitted which was actually...super creative. The only items that we need to vote on are which item will be the Reader Rabbit item. Vote in the Strawpoll below.

Now, time for the Story Mode job!

Job 460:

Submit a story mode for the ClueFinders.
Like the chapters we have done for the two bonus fighters and the other Learners Pass fighters in both passes thus far, the chapter can take place somewhere during the Story Mode or even in the neon gaming city at the end of the Story Mode. Get writing and submitting. As always, use your imagination and get submitting! Make sure this Story Mode chapter is special as its about one of our guest characters!

Also, everyone can submit one Learning Champion Stage form!

You cannot submit from the previous ones listed above in my previous post and for Fred's Backyard and Nature Adventures, Learning Company Memories, The Living Volcano and The D-Struct's Lair and Cave.

Now, really get to it and use your imagination!

Learning Champion Stage Form

The Word Factory:
Another Learning Company stage Learning Champion Stage form but you fight on the inside of the factory on a slightly slow-moving conveyor belt that doesn't go too fast and various words make the platforms but doesn't go too crazy to make it still competitively legal so think words like cat, dog, to, etc.

I will submit a Story Mode chapter eventually. I'm just a bit busy right now and will probably submit it tomorrow or Saturday, I hope.

Learning Champion Stage Form

WordGirl's Super Secret Spaceship Hideout

Uhhh, is there any WordGirl stage that has a stage form yet? No? Then let this be the first! Why not make this stage layout like Lylat Cruise, only a bit more competitive friendly with less slanted platforms.

Otherwise, I have nothing else

Alright, so sorry about the long wait but real-life stuff got in the way of me writing the chapter. But, with all the Learning Champion Stage Forms, I decided all 6 of them will get in so congrats to me, Pop and Cyborg Sun! As for the Reader Rabbit item, Pop's Reader Rabbit item will get in so congrats to him!

Now, onto my Story Mode chapter!

Story Mode Chapter for The ClueFinders:

The ClueFinders: The Brawltime Party Mystery of the Digital Anomaly

Our chapter starts in the Neon Gaming City. We particularly look at the Neon Gaming City Arcade where we see Arthur, Buster and their friends, the Kratt Bros and Zaboo, Big Bird, Elmo, Digit and his friends, Hacker and his robot minions Buzz and Delete, Gilbert without Caillou, Lionel, Mr. Rogers and even Curious George playing video games. Each one of the arcade games there references machines you would see in an arcade in Japan. There are fighting games, dance machines, etc.

We then cut to footage of a secret archive underneath the Neon Gaming City Arcade that has the old PBS Kids logo on it and footage of various PBS Kids website games and video games from various PBS Kids shows represented in the game.

Narrator (Not the Announcer Bunny): It's been a while since I told a story. But, we are now in a top secret area of the Neon Gaming City Arcade called the PBS Kids Archives. Here, every game where our heroes have partaken in educating others are stored down here.

The camera pans over briefly to the Sprout/Universal Kids part of the Archives as well.

Narrator (Not the Announcer Bunny): It even seems some heroes beyond our dimension did get some games in here as well. But, every citizen here can be granted access by collecting prize keys in the arcade. Three keys unlock the doors to greatness and wonder! Let's see who can unlock it now!

We cut to Arthur and Digit playing a fighting game. Buster tries to get Arthur's attention.

Buster: Hey, Arthur, have you ever wondered what's down below here? Maybe it's some secret alien hideout?

Arthur: Buster! I'm trying to concentrate!

Digit then just about beats Arthur!

Digit: Hah! The Didge takes the win this time!

He then notices some sort of magical key appears out of the machine.

Digit: What's that key supposed to do?

We then see Mr. Rogers and Curious George play a dancing game similar to DDR. Mr. Rogers beat the high score on the machine. Curious George looks sad after his defeat and Mr. Rogers comforts him.

Mr. Rogers: You did your best George.

Another colorful key floats out of the machine.

Mr. Rogers: It seems that bird Digit has a key when he beat Arthur in that video game. Maybe there might be some surprises we do not know about.

The Kratt Bros and Zaboo notice the key as well while they were playing some game similar to Super Monkey Ball.

Zaboo: Huh? That key sure looks funny.

Chris: Your right Zaboo!

Martin: Will it take us to Zobooland?

Then, we see Lionel and Hacker playing some sort of sports game about baseball. Lionel is playing as a team resembling the Chicago Cubs while Hacker plays as a team resembling the Houston Astros.

Lionel then beats Hacker with a walk-off home run.

Lionel: YES! The Cubs win again by a walk-off!

Hacker just growls.

Hacker: That clueless lion cub has no idea how powerful I am at video games!

Buzz and Delete look at him.

Delete: Don't worry boss. We still have other chances to game as well.

Then, Lionel notices another colorful key come out of the machine.

Lionel: Huh? What's this key doing outside of this machine? Where does it go to?

After the keys appear, the characters look clueless. All of the characters with keys meet at some central spot in the arcade.

Mr. Rogers: It seems there are three keys but where do they go to?

Big Bird: Yeah, when me and Elmo were playing some sort of racing game, we did not see a key.

Elmo: Yeah! Elmo wants to learn more about those keys! Did Elmo's friends win a special prize?

Curious George shrugs.

Gilbert then uses his whiskers and senses a secret area.

Arthur: Hey! That cat has an idea where to go!

Lionel: Good idea! Let's follow him!

Everyone nods.

After the cutscene, you can choose between 3 characters to play as. You can play as Big Bird, Elmo, Arthur, Buster, Mr. Rogers, Chris and Martin, Digit, Hacker, Lionel or Curious George with the Gilbert assist assisting you as you go through an arcade maze to find the secret entrance to the PBS Kids Archives. There are various thugs in the arcade as well as some machines that have prizes spawn out on accident so watch out! This arcade platforming section is FULL of surprises.

After the platforming section

The characters approach a secret door leading to the PBS Kids Archives we have seen before. Everyone examines it and then they hear a voice being the Narrator we heard before.

Narrator (Not the Announcer Bunny and PBS Kids Archives guide): Welcome to the PBS Kids Archives: You have completed three challenges and have proven to be the best of the best in the arcade! Insert the three keys into the holes and then, you shall receive a tour of the history of our educational heroes!

Mr. Rogers, Lionel and Digit insert the keys looking at each other in confusion while everyone else looks amazed.

Narrator (Not the Announcer Bunny and PBS Kids Archives guide): You have now been granted access to the Archives. Now, if you excuse me, a special guest will come and show you around!

We then see a certain green fellow run up and appear similar to an iconic PBS Kids ID.

Dash: Hey! I'm surprised you guys made it!

Arthur: Dash? Boy, it's been forever!

Francine: Hey, isn't he the one who invited that girl from Alaska to that Brawltime Party?

Binky: And when Buster went to meet those colorful aliens for that invite for the same party because of him?

Dash: Yep, so you completed three amazing feats in the arcade! Awesome stuff everyone! Now, I have been working here to restore old memories of our old worlds right here! Why don't all of you have a look?

Everyone looks around at various computers and pictures on walls of boxarts of old PBS Kids video games. We see Digit and Hacker looking at some old footage of Cyberchase: Carnival Chaos.

Digit: Hey! That's when we went to that carnival to save it from you, old pal!

Hacker: And all of you beat me, of course!

Buzz: Come on, boss! There was always a second chance for us!

Delete: That's right Buzzy!

We then see Arthur and Buster looking at footage of the old Living Books game Arthur's Teacher Trouble.

Arthur: I look different here....

Buster: Yeah, you run that spelling bee pal!

Lionel and Mr. Rogers look at the game as well.

Lionel: We have games like that in the library.

Big Bird and Elmo look at footage of the game Sesame Street Art Workshop.

Elmo: Elmo remembers when we painted a lot, right Big Bird?

Big Bird: That's right! And, we dressed up too!

The characters even look back and reminisce on the old PBS Kids website games as well looking at them on various screens and playing them.

We see Chris and Martin Kratt looking at the Zoboomafoo website.

Chris: Woah! It’s Animal Junction!

Martin: And on the computer!

Zoboo: That’s right! It’s always fun to play games with our animal friends, even on a computer!

We even see Lionel looking at the Between the Lions PC game Pounce! and Mr. Rogers looking at the Neighborhood of Make-Believe section of the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood PBS Kids microsite.

Then, all of a sudden, we hear some strange computer noises.

Digit: Is Hacker hacking again?

Hacker growls.

Hacker: SERIOUSLY? I gave up my ways after I was beaten by that foolish agent kid squad!

Dash then looks and sees some sort of purple screen.

Dash: No...it can't be...

Arthur: It's that purple monster thing from before!

We then see some digitized Anomaly minions based on PBS Kids website games and such.

Buster: Hey, those are the...

Digit: Quick! Let's stop them!

Everyone nods.

After the cutscene, you can play as 5 characters from the selection of Big Bird, Elmo, Arthur, Buster, Mr. Rogers, Chris and Martin, Digit, Hacker, Lionel or Curious George and face off against a 100-Multi Man Anomaly minions battle. The Anomaly minions have attacks themed after PBS Kids website games and such.

After the fight:

The fight is over and the fighters take a breath but....suddenly the computer sucks them all in.

Dash: Look out guys! Ahhhhh!

Everyone gets sucked into the computer and we see them fall down a purple tornado-like spiral.

Then....we see the screen turn to a familiar clubhouse with four kids, a dog and a yellow computer relaxing in a familar animation style.

LapTrap: So, this is where I like it best. No danger at all.

Joni: Only YOU would say that, LapTrap!

Santiago: Perhaps it's nice to take a breath from solving mysteries.

Leslie is seen reading a book.

Leslie: For sure...

Owen then sees purple goo in the distance with some visitors coming in.

Owen: Oh man, dude! Everyone, look outside! There's some strange stuff going on!

The ClueFinders, Socrates and LapTrap all look outside. There, they see the PBS Kids characters and the minions in the Learning Company animation style.

LapTrap: Oh....are we going to get into THIS mess again?

Joni: We might as well! Sounds like another mystery to solve! Let's go for it, guys!

After the cutscene, you play as the ClueFinders (You choose which ClueFinder you want to play as) and go through a platforming section based on the ClueFinders games. Throughout it, there are obstacles like the purple goo and the Anomaly minions. It's a platforming section that goes through a lot of stuff.

After the platforming section.

The ClueFinders feel relieved but then, they meet up with the PBS Kids characters.

Joni: Hey, who are these strangers? Did they send these purple monsters over here?

Dash: No, no! We have fought them before but...how did they get here?

Leslie then reads about something in some new purple book.

Leslie: It seems that the purple creatures are called the Anomaly and....they went through....the worlds...YOU GUYS CAME THROUGH?

Owen: Woah dude, sounds like a multiverse problem!

Santiago: Maybe there must be a connection between our worlds.

Arthur: Well, that sounds like an idea but we must figure out how to save your worlds. I'm Arthur by the way!

Dash: And I'm Dash! Say, some of my friends might be familiar with these worlds here!

Arthur, Buster, Digit, Hacker, Gilbert, Chris and Martin Kratt and Zaboo all seem to get where they are and introduce themselves. Big Bird, Lionel, Elmo, Mr. Rogers and Curious George all introduce themselves.

Joni: Nice to meet all of you! I'm Joni, leader of the group called the ClueFinders! These are my friends Santiago, Leslie and Owen. We are now solving the mystery of this Anomaly....

Dash: Well Joni, I was hosting some Brawltime Party where I invited a lot of my old and new friends to come but...the Anomaly sabotaged the party. It seems that there is a link between our worlds.

There seems to be noise coming from the distance. We see various Learning Company characters running in the distance. We see Reader Rabbit and his friends, Super Seeker, Rocky, Gertrude, the Zoombinis, Katie Cadet and her friends, etc. all running away from the Anomaly.

Arthur: HEY! Are they from your universe too?

Joni: Probably. But, let's save them all!

We then go back to the Learning Company characters running away and then....

Reader Rabbit: Oh no....this doesn't look too good....

Katie Cadet: AHHHHH!

Everyone gets sucked into the Anomaly monster.

Hacker: It pains me to say this but...I must be the good guy AGAIN!

Buster then sees that there are floating orbs of various Learning Company games and their games too.

Buster: Say Arthur, there seems to be some floating orbs around here.

Buster points to a circle that looks like the game Arthur's Camping Adventure.

Buster: That's when we went camping!

Chris and Martin point to the circle with Zoboomafoo: Creature Quest.

Martin: Hey, that's that Creature Quest we went on, learning about animals!

Dash: Maybe, going through those worlds can give us a clue.

Joni: I'd say we go for it!

Owen: Definitely, dude!

LapTrap: I am SO not ready for this!

The characters all get ready and head out for adventure.

After the cutscene, you can choose between 5 characters to play as. You can play as Big Bird, Elmo, Arthur, Buster, Mr. Rogers, Chris and Martin, Digit, Hacker, Lionel, Curious George or the ClueFinders (you pick which ClueFinder you want to play as) with the Gilbert assist assisting you as you go through a Great Maze-esque level where you have to complete various minigames from PBS Kids tie-in games from The Learning Company alongside minigames from the original Learning Company games. All the PBS Kids minigames are the same from the Learning Company Memories stage but as a platforming section. The Learning Company minigames will be games from games like The ClueFinders: 5th Grade Adventures: Mystery of the Living Volcano and Reader Rabbit and the Word Factory. The Anomaly minions will sabotage you in your path and you have a time limit to complete each game. If you do not complete the games in time, you fail.

After the platforming section:

Everyone then enters the core of the Anomaly after completing all the games.

Dash: It seems after completing that maze that....

Arthur then realizes something.

Arthur: It's just like before with that first monster we faced.

Digit: Oh no! Will there be a sacrifice again?

Joni: It's best we just face him head-on!

LapTrap: Uhh....for sure, yeah....

We see everyone entering the core but around them, we see other Learning Company characters in the purple circles captured by the Anomaly monster.

Reader Rabbit then sees them

Reader Rabbit: Hey everyone....we need your help.

Lionel looks up.

Lionel: Who are you?

Reader Rabbit: Well, I'm Reader Rabbit and I....lost my worlds where I taught many young people how to read, do math and all sorts of useful skills. And now...my world is gone and so is everyone else's!

The crowd of Zoombinis: We can't build our new city anymore! And we're doomed!

Lionel: I see...I lost my library but my family and I live in a new one. But don't worry, we will rescue all of you!

Dash: For sure, we are on it!

Everyone gets prepared to face the Learning Company digit Anomaly beast as it roars and sends out henchmen based on the Learning Company characters.

After the cutscene, you can choose between 5 characters to play as. You can play as Big Bird, Elmo, Arthur, Buster, Mr. Rogers, Chris and Martin, Digit, Hacker, Lionel, Curious George or the ClueFinders (you pick which ClueFinder you want to play as) with the Gilbert assist assisting you as you fight against the Digital Anomaly monster in a boss fight. The Anomaly Monster's attacks are themed after the Learning Company IPs and such and will even send out glitched letters and numbers and such. Occasionally, a puzzle will appear for you to solve. Solve it and you get a stat buff or a super-strong item! Fail it and get poisoned by the digital Anomaly!

After the boss fight:

The digital Anomaly falls to its knees but then, the ground begins to shake.

LapTrap: Well...this is a great situation to be in!

Dash: I guess we gotta make a run for it but...

Dash looks up at everyone.

Dash: We must rescue all of them first!

Without any hesitation, everyone gets to work and starts running for their lives.

After the cutscene, you can choose between 3 characters to play as You can play as Big Bird, Elmo, Arthur, Buster, Mr. Rogers, Chris and Martin, Digit, Hacker, Lionel, Curious George or the ClueFinders (you pick which ClueFinder you want to play as) with the Gilbert assist assisting you as you traverse a platforming section where you must rescue all the Learning Company characters from the monster and escape the Anomaly. Falling debris will slow you down! You only have 7 minutes to complete the platforming section or you fail the section.

After the platforming section:

Everyone is freed and the digital Anomaly monster explodes into all sorts of computer jargon. All the characters then get sucked out of the computer and then enter the Neon Gaming City, specifically in the PBS Kids Archives in the regular PBS Kids: Brawltime! animation style.

Dash and the others sigh with relief.

Dash: Phew....we made it!

Lionel: Yeah, and great timing too.

Elmo: Elmo wants to know what happened to the ClueFinders' world.

Joni: Guess we lost that.

Surprisingly, Mathra looks sad as well.

Reader Rabbit: Our homes though...they are gone.

Everyone starts talking about what to do until the Zoombinis come up with an idea.

Zoombinis: Hey, maybe we can build some more space so all of us can live here in this....

Then, all the Learning Company characters look out the window and simply see a beautiful city.

Reader Rabbit: Wow....I've never seen anything like this before.

Joni: Well, let's get to it everyone!

Lionel: Hey! Why don't we all have a dance party to celebrate our new friends's beginning?

Everyone cheers and goes over to the dance club Lionel's family runs.

After the cutscene, you get to play a minigame where you get to make any of the characters in the story mode dance to the music played by Cleo to celebrate similar to other Learning Company minigames in the PBS Kids tie in Learning Company games to celebrate a job well-done! You can play this game for as little or as long as you want.

After the minigame:

We see the ClueFinders in their new clubhouse outside of the city.

Joni: So...another mystery solved.

Leslie sees a book then with a cover of them similar to a ClueFinders game boxart.

Leslie: I call this adventure...The Brawltime Party Mystery of the Digital Anomaly.

We see the boxart and then the screen fades to black.

The End

Notes:

  • I know this was lengthy but the guest characters do deserve some lengthy story mode treatment.
  • The three keys in the Neon Gaming City Arcade were a reference to the book Ready Player One where here, instead of winning taking over the OASIS, you win access to the PBS Kids Archives.
  • I had the idea to make the PBS Kids Archives a museum in the Neon Gaming City and now, you can assume we have Learning Company games there displayed as well.
  • All the characters in this chapter have had some affiliation with The Learning Company besides Lionel, Mr. Rogers and Curious George. One of the three here MAY have a Learning Company connection in this alternate universe VERY soon ;).
  • The title is a reference to how the ClueFinders games are titled.
  • The minigame at the end is a reference to how at the end of the PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company games, you get a little celebration game to celebrate a victory!
  • I wanted to do a Great Maze level with Learning Company-themed challenges. After all, I did my best to make it an ultimate tribute and have the Anomaly return in some form.

Alright, so my Story Mode chapter will be added. Now, onto the next job being Event Matches!

Job 461:

Submit five DLC event match ideas to come with the update for The ClueFinders. Similar to the past two bonus fighters and the other Learner's Pass fighters, I feel the events should be focused on the content that comes with them. So, any event can involve The ClueFinders themselves, the assists that come with them, stages, items, etc. Regardless, get submitting and use your imagination!

DLC Event Matches that come with The ClueFinders:

Event #Extra01: The Brawltime Party Mystery of The Living Volcano
Event Description:
The ClueFinders have found themselves back in the Living Volcano once more for another super big mystery! However, there seem to be invaders all throughout the volcano stopping you on your journal and they have puzzles for you to solve. See if you can solve the mystery of the Living Volcano and why these invaders happen to be here.
Player: The ClueFinders (You pick which member you want to play as.)
Stage: The Living Volcano
Opponent(s): 3x Random Opponents for each part of the stage (5x for harder difficulties)
Event objective: In this event, you simply battle against your opponents on each stage and solve a puzzle by attacking the right answer. The subjects will vary and the grade level questions will be harder or harder difficulties. At the end of each section after defeating all your opponents, you must collect a treasure that is dropped. At the end of the level, if you have defeated all the opponents and got all the treasures, you complete the event match. If you get KOd, self-destruct or fail 3 times on the puzzles, you fail the event match.
References: The ClueFinders game The ClueFinders 5th Grade Adventures: Secret of the Living Volcano but with the PBS Kids: Brawltime! fighters invading the volcano.

Event #Extra02: Frantic Anomaly Frights at The Word Factory
Event Description:
Words are fun to build with Reader Rabbit. However, there seems to be these strange purple monsters invading the Word Factory and Wordville will not get their letters and words in time to keep the town going. Can you help Reader Rabbit stop these foes before it gets too late?
Player: Choice
Assist: Reader Rabbit
Ally: Lionel (Represents Sam the Lion)
Ally's Assist: Click (Represents Mat the Mouse)
Stage: The Word Factory

You can keep finding if your ally gets KOd. If you get KOd, self-destruct or do not build all the words in time that is given to you, you fail the event match, The word building part occurs at the end in the actual Word Factory.
References: Generic reference to various Reader Rabbit games that star the Word Factory and the various minigames you play there but the Anomaly sabotage a Reader Rabbit game.

Event #Extra03: A New Builder for Zoombiniville
Event Description:
The Zoombinis seem to have met one of the Brawltime Party fighters who happens to be an excellent builder. He hears that their new settlement needs construction and he knows just what to do. But, can he stop some tyrannical destroyers and get the materials needed to get the job done? Yes! He! Can!

Your opponents do not take too much knockback due to being super big but you must KO them. If you get KOd, self-destruct or do not get all the building materials before KOing your three opponents, you fail the event match.
References: The Zoombinis game Logical Journey of the Zoombinisas well as Bob the Builder being known for building new infrastructure like in Sunflower Valley in Bob the Builder: Project Build It. Your opponents are references to kaiju movies specifically Barney for being Godzilla, Mathra the assist for Mothra, Big Bird for King Ghidorah, BJ for any other dinosaur-looking kaiju and Hacker and Delete for Mechagodzilla (mostly due to the connection to robots)

Event #Extra04: Treasures to be Found

The Super Seeker has arrived to the Brawltime Party and is here to help you find treasure. However, you cannot share this treasure with any other fighter...it's too dangerous here at the Brawltime Party. Once you get the biggest treasure, you can KO all your opponents. If you KO your opponents before using Super Seeker's full meter assist function, they will respawn/ If you get KOd or self-destruct, you fail the event match.
Reference: The Super Seeker game Treasure Mountain!

Event #Extra05: The PBS Kids Learning Company Memory Tour

Event objective: In this event, it's a no-frills fight on each of the PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company games on this stage. You must defeat the fighters in their respective game and they are in chronological PBS Kids debut order as well as complete the game themselves. If you get KOd, self-destruct or do not complete the game on the stage with the time allowed, you fail the event match.

The opponents in the order you will fight them in:

Arthur and Buster (The River Game) -> Chris and Martin (Smart Fox Matching Game) -> Barney (Tap the Tune) -> Miss Frizzle (Balloon Balancing) -> Digit and Hacker (The Window Opening Game) -> Joni (Report the News!)

Alright, so I've been planning out these for a long time, so feist your eyes on my event matches! :)

Event #Extra01: Cluefinders: The Rambunctious Reign of the Living Volcano Lava Monster
Event Description:
A couple of rowdy kids have told the Cluefinders about rumors regarding a mysterious Lava Monster living in the depths of the Living Volcano and they want the Cluefinders to come with them! Of course, the idea of a Lava Monster sounds very dangerous, better to reason with those kids before it's too late!
Player: The ClueFinders (You play as Joni Savage by default, and you can play as the other Cluefinders by inputting certain button commands)
Stage: The Living Volcano
Opponent(s): Xavier Riddle, Betsy, Ty Rux as the "Lava Monster" (If Xavier and Betsy are not defeated before the last phase, being inside the Living Volcano, uses an orange alt based on Skya if available to make it look like a lava monster)
Event objective: In this event, you face two opponents, being Xavier and Betsy to start with, but if Xavier and Betsy are not defeated in time by the last phase when you get into the volcano, you'll have to face off against a Ty Rux, playing the "Lava Monster", in addition to the two opponents previously mentioned. The Lava Monster is quite difficult to defeat, as its attacks have higher knockback that can one hit-KO the Cluefinder even at low damage precents. Because of this, it's better to defeat your two starting opponents before the final phase so you will not have to face the Lava Monster altogether. On harder difficulty levels, the phases change a little faster, giving you less time to defeat your two starting opponents before encountering the Lava Monster!
References: Aside the title being a reference to the Cluefinders as well as other media having relatively long sub-names, it was inspired by the SSB Brawl event match The Monster Beneath the Earth and the SSB4 event match A Fated Battle, both with similar objectives to this event.

Event #Extra02: Melodic Marbles on the Move!
Event Description:
When problems arise, Singing Marbles come to the rescue! These colorful little guys will reward you with the best when you solve the problems correctly.
Player: Choice
Stage: The Word Factory
Opponents: 3 random opponents
Event objective: The objective of this event match is to KO your opponents when you are under the effects of Singing Marbles! (Technically, Red, Orange and Yellow give status effects, Green and Blue are not status-based) Singing Marbles spawn very often in this event, making it easier to get 3 of the same color for maximum effort! KO'ing the opponents without Singing Marble effects will just have them respawn.
References: Generic reference to Reader Rabbit 1st grade: Capers on Cloud Nine!, where you solve educational games to earn Singing Marbles. This event is also inspired from the SSB Brawl event match Dragoon Strike and the SSB4 event match The Break of Day, both with similar objectives to this event, where their respective combine-3 items are required for victory.

So, this isn't tied to any job, but I did get to thinking... the way the characters are presented on the first post isn't really the best. The images are inconsistently sized, and some of them are even broken links. It's a bit of a mess, so I wanted to introduce these cool new icons I made for the first 20 characters! Each feature the characters in front of a fitting background from their home series, and are all the exact same size. I hope you consider these for the thread, I spent a good chunk of time on these! I already made ones for the DLC characters actually, but I'll share them in another post later, can't have them all here because of the attached files limit. (which hilariously, is 20, what a coincidence)

Alright, so I do feel for the event matches...we will let Pop's first two event matches join as they are more unique than my Event Match ideas for the first two I did. But, the other three I submitted will join as well so yay for me and Pop. Also, for Cyborg Sun, I love the icons! They fit so well with the game.

Now....time for two special jobs to deviate away from what we regularly do...one of which has the SPECIAL SURPRISE ;).

Job 462:

Now that The Learning Company has officially gotten content in PBS Kids: Brawltime! sparking a revival....the company will be coming back in full force! Submit ideas for tie-in products for The Learning Company to promote their return as well as the content that will come with each product for their Collector's Edition of course.

And now...for the special surprise:

Job 463:

Now...I do not think a crossover game/episode would be best for The Learning Company but...for the first time in over 20+ years, The Learning Company has decided to create some PBS Kids tie-in games once more! Here, you get to create your own idea for a Learning Company tie-in game for a PBS Kids show that did not recieve a Learning Company game or has limited video game content.

You CANNOT submit a video game idea for:

  • Sesame Street
  • Arthur
  • Zoboomafoo/Kratt Bros
  • Cyberchase
  • Jay Jay the Jet Plane
  • Caillou
  • Liberty's Kids
  • The Magic School Bus
  • Clifford the Big Red Dog
  • Thomas and Friends
  • Dragon Tales
  • The Teletubbies
  • The Berenstain Bears
  • Curious George
  • Bob the Builder
  • The Electric Company
Those shows that I listed have a ton of video games and/or video games distributed by The Learning Company. Also, for the PBS Kids series you decide to make a Learning Company video game for must be from the 2000s era (2000-2003) to stick with the appropriately licensed game theme back when there were PBS Kids tie-in games and you must describe the plot of the game and what the gameplay/minigames are like and such.

Get submitting and use your imagination!

Learning Company Tie-In Products:

I actually have two different Learning Company tie-in products:

The Learning Company Retro Collection

This collection was inspired by an idea Pop had a while ago so I give him credit but....this compilation of games featuring The Learning Company's original IPs like Reader Rabbit, The ClueFinders, Zoombinis, Super Seeker, etc. In fact...you EVEN get some other games that were owned by Broderbund and such that were published by The Learning Company like KidPix and some of the original Living Books games (I have another idea for Living Books you may see soon ;)).

The collection will include about 35-40 original Learning Company games and such.

The content of this collection will include for all the Collector's Edition copy for the more premium package:

  • A retro-inspired Learning Company Retro Collection boxart
  • 2 posters, one with The Learning Company logo and The Learning Company characters by it and one with all the game's boxarts on the poster
  • A statue of a select character (Reader Rabbit, Zoombinis, etc.)
  • A Learning Company anthology for the original IPs
  • A disc for display with The Learning Company Retro Collection boxart
  • A featurette of the history of The Learning Company on a DVD with commercials for their products and even the tie-in videos and such
  • A Learning Company t-shirt
And the second idea...

The Learning Company Licensed Collection

Why don't we give some love to the licensed games as well? Of course it will have the PBS Kids tie-in games on it but also other fun games like the Dr. Seuss games, SpongeBob SquarePants: Typing, etc.

The collection will include about 35-40 licensed Learning Company games and such.

Once again, the content of this collection will include for all the Collector's Edition copy for the more premium package:

  • A retro-inspired Learning Company Licensed Collection boxart
  • 2 posters, one with The Learning Company logo with the "As seen on PBS Kids" sticker with the PBS Kids characters by the logo to help promote PBS Kids: Brawltime! which will be on that poster and with all the game's boxarts on the poster
  • A Learning Company anthology for the licensed games
  • A statue of a select PBS Kids characters from one of The Learning Company PBS Kids tie-in games doing something from their game (Arthur, Chris and Martin, etc.)
  • A disc for display with The Learning Company Licensed Collection boxart
  • A t-shirt with the PBS Kids characters by it
  • A featurette starring some history about The Learning Company licensed games and a collection of commercials and ads and such
Both games will include a coupon for a discount on PBS Kids: Brawltime! for the game or the Learner's Passes and such. Same thing will happen for copies of PBS Kids: Brawltime! and the edutainment companies PBS Kids: Brawltime! will give you a discount off of their products as well! A win-win there!

New Learning-Company PBS Kids Tie-In Game

Between the Lions: Busterfield Library Commotion!

ezgif-3-df4bd25c7b.jpg

Ok so...I am VERY surprised that Between the Lions NEVER really received much tie-in merchandise for the show and not even a PC game given its popularity back in the 2000s. Realistically, this would have made a lot of sense given the show was that popular. However, based on the Season 2 episode from Between the Lions titled The Good Seed, there is trouble at the Busterfield Library in this game! Lionel is getting a day where he gets to be responsible and become a librarian but...after opening a suspicious email Click tells him not to open...a virus enters the library and allows for all the characters from the segments and other books to swarm the library causing chaos. You must help Lionel and his family solve these problems before the Busterfield Library gets ruined by this freebee! This game teaches reading and writing skills just like Between the Lions did.

Some of the games you will play will include:

  • Gawain's Blend-O-Rama: Based on the Gawain's Word segment, help Gawain find the two knights he needs to charge together to create words on Blending Fields! This tests phonics.
  • Cliff Hanger's Story Teller: Help Cliff Hanger by making a story to help him get back in his book! This tests children's knowledge of story structure.
  • Sam Spud's Spelling: Testing your writing and proofreading skills, Sam Spud made some errors while working late one night...see if you can spot the errors
  • Story Mix-Up: Testing your knowledge of listening and following directions, help book characters like The Lost Rock, Pecos Bill, Anne Bonney, etc. find their way to their books based on what Theo or Cleo tell you to do. You will have to choose the right book!
  • Fun with Chicken Jane: Help Scot and Dot out of danger by simply helping them with your reading skills but...Chicken Jane will take the blow as usual!
  • Heath's Super Synonym Game: Heath the Thesaurus loves synonyms! But, you will have to find out what each word means based on clues Heath gives you. It will be a fun way to teach kids synonyms and vocabulary!
After you complete all 6 of the games, you will get a game called Arty's Dance Party where you get to make the various characters in the game do a dance in Smarty Pants to celebrate the library being restored!

As with the other Learning Company PBS Kids tie-in games, you will get clips from Between the Lions in the game as well as the actors who played the characters reprising their roles.

The people who buy this game will get box art for Between the Lions: Busterfield Library Commotion! as well as a retro-inspired disc for the game and such. There will once again be a coupon for PBS Kids: Brawltime! and for its products. Also, this game will be in the PBS Kids Archives with The ClueFinders update. But, the only games from the game that will be available are Gawain's Blend-O-Rama and Story-Mix-Up. It's only a quick demo as....this is a newer product and we have to just let people buy it.

This is an idea I had for a long while so I hope all of you enjoy my nice surprise I have planned for a while!

That Between the Lions game sounds amazing, I've got nothing that can compete with that lol.

And as promised, here are the icons I made for the DLC cast so far. Donkey's was done in a different style, being a simple screenshot, because he's the most "out there" unique character. He's just an innocent ol' donkey after all! (also Betsy was by far the hardest one, her series is so obscure that it's hard to find good art anywhere... had to cut and upscale from low-quality art, probably the "worst" looking one but oh well)

Alright, so I will leave the jobs for the tie-in products open. But, let's jump right into the PBS Kids Archives stuff!

Job 464:

Submit content for the PBS Kids Archives. I know this update is going to be VERY video game content heavy in terms of new video games added to the PBS Kids Archives but feel free to share ideas for website games and even episodes too. You can submit up to 4 Learning Company video games for the PBS Kids Archives. For PBS Kids video games, it's up to you in terms of the limit but let's aim for a max of 10 PBS Kids show video games.

Get submitting and use your imagination!

Learning Company Tie-In Episodes/Videos

Reader Rabbit: Sing-a Song-Adventures

Reader Rabbit: Wordville Soup

Reader Rabbit: The Great Alphabet Race

Why not include all 3 Reader Rabbit tie-in videos made in the 2000s? They feel PBS Kids-esque already. Also, Charles Martinet stars in some of the videos as Captain Ratbeard!

As a big bonus....

A hypothetical ClueFinders PBS Kids show pilot episode based on ClueFinders: 3rd Grade Adventures: Mystery of Mathra

That's right, as the BIG surprise here...The ClueFinders are getting a special episode as if they were to get a PBS Kids show complete with bumpers and the Viewers Like You/Thank You funding credits. Basically, The ClueFinders did have plans for a concept for a TV series based on the ClueFinders games but...that never came to fruition. Here, we get a hypothetical "What if The ClueFinders were a part of the PBS Kids library of shows?" scenario. The show would be aimed towards older kids around 3rd grade and such where each episode will focus on a topic so in the pilot episode, the mysteries would be about math to fit the theme of Mathra.

Various Learning Company software ads

A history of The Learning Company logo

Ads for the PBS Kids tie-in games and the various promos of Learning Company games on other Learning Company games

Why not throw in compilations of the logo and ads (even hypothetical new ones to fit the time period of the PBS Kids tie-in games) to add some extra flavor to the package here?

Another surprise...a Learning Company microsite!

sddefault.jpg

I thought about this idea but here, you can get a microsite of the various Learning Company IPs and all that fun stuff with even easter eggs from the various PBS Kids shows that got Learning Company games as tie-in products for the crossover aspect of the game (since we are lacking a crossover episode and website game this time around). Here, you can click on a franchise's world and play a smaller minigame from one of their Learning Company games as a short demo. It's overall tons of learning fun!

These are all games that have been represented in the Learning Company content that came with the ClueFinders. I tried to choose a range of Learning Company games and I wanted to throw in one of the 80s games being Rocky's Boots so there you go.

For the PBS Kids video games, all the games represented in the Learning Company Memories stage join the PBS Kids Archives!

Arthur: Arthur's Camping Adventure (PC)

Liberty's Kids (PC)

It's simple as that! Have a pub feed of all the PBS Kids tie-in games seen on the stage. This will also help promote the Learning Company Licensed Collection too!

As for the final game which would be Between the Lions: Busterfield Library Commotion! (PC), you will get to play a demo of the game where you will only have access to the Gawain's Blend-O-Rama and Story-Mix-Up games. Thus, this will convince you to go out there and buy the product to support a true Learning Company label revival!

That's all the ideas I have for now so if anyone has anything else they want to add, I'm all ears! :)

I've got 4 more Learning Company tie-in games to reach that maximum of 10 (if that Between the Lions demo counts as one, then I guess you could cut either the Jay Jay or Caillou one):

I've got nothing for the new jobs at the moment actually, but in terms of AlteredBeast's idea for the Learning Company Retro Collection (Which I REALLY was expecting and it came out better than I EVER thought!), for the KidPix games, you can also have the ability to share artwork through an in-game art hub for EVERYONE to see (I originally was going to say social media, but that's probably a no-no for kids games), but considering kids would play it, I was very iffy on suggesting including this

New Learning-Company PBS Kids Tie-In Game

Xavier Riddle and The Secret Museum of Games

While I'm TOTALLY ok with AlteredBeast's submission, I figured I at least wanted to have my try on this. Basically, this is kind of like a what if the Learning Company still produced edutainment games even for modern shows? I figured I'd answer that with the first modern PBS Kids show we brought into PBS Kids: Brawltime! The central plot can revolve around the three kids needing to find the missing pieces for a very important new exhibit in their museum before it opens. As they all each travel to different time periods to find clues to the missing museum pieces, each famous historical figure teaching stuff about themselves as well as doing certain learning activities based around their grand professions, such as science with Marie Curie and Isaac Newton, Reading with the Bronte Sisters and Mark Twain, Writing with Charles Dickens, Math with certain ones who had to use professional math skills in their major part of their world contributions. In the end, after meeting ALL historical figures, you play a final game where you solve a big review of all the things you learned so far to finish the brand new museum exhibit! Just like in the old days, this game will come packaged in a retro PC game box complete with a jewel CD case and other retro goodies, such as a registration card! In PBS Kids: Brawltime!, you're offered a free trail of this game in the archives, only offering several historical figures to encounter before it all ends.

Ok so I feel that we should add all my games but consider adding Cyborg Sun's games as well. We do have Cyberchase: Carnival Chaos already as it came with the updates for the wombats. All the games I chose for the Learning Company original IPs will be added as well as the two new PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company games.

I must say for the idea Pop proposed....I did not think about how to incorporate a modern PBS Kids IP until now since there are not a lot of tie-in educational PC games anymore as everything is on apps and such but his idea is so creative.

Now, for the PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company games, please vote in the Strawpoll below what we should do.

PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company games in PBS Kids Archives Poll

Now, it's Legacy Skins time!

Job 465:

Submit 5 Legacy Skins to come with the update coming with The ClueFinders This is a very special update as these Legacy Skins will not be our usual Legacy Skins. In fact, there are certain criteria for them this time.

You will need to submit

  • 1 Legacy Skin for The ClueFinders of them cosplaying as PBS Kids or Learning Company characters. The top idea will get in!
  • 3 Legacy Skins for the PBS Kids fighters in PBS Kids: Brawltime! cosplaying as characters from a Learning Company IP or representing one clearly. You can even do IPs not represented in the game from PBS Kids Sprout/Universal Kids. If we get a Legacy Skin based on a Learning Company IP that does not have any content, there will be some content for that IP added to the PBS Kids Archives. The top 3 ideas will get in!
  • 1 Legacy Skin for a PBS Kids fighter based on a former IP/company owned by The Learning Company. You must dedicate a Legacy Skin to a former Learning Company IP/company owned by them like KidPix or Living Books and such.
You CANNOT submit Cosplay Legacy Skins for:

  • Dash
  • Digit
  • Hacker
  • Miss Frizzle
  • Bob the Builder
  • Betsy
  • The Zula Patrol
These characters have all received Legacy Skins of them cosplaying in either Ty Rux's pack or the JumpStart Super Sponsor Pack. Regardless, get submitting and use your imagination!

The ClueFinders Legacy Skin

ClueFinders as the PBS Kids Learning Company All-Stars!

0D878AF7-267E-4DA8-A735-A630A3B244CE.JPG

Ok so I had a bit of trouble initially coming up with a Legacy Skin idea for the ClueFinders....but I thought, why don't they cosplay as various characters from PBS Kids shows that got tie-in games made by The Learning Company? Each character would cosplay as a different character so 4 different Legacy Skins in 1 package here! Joni would be Sarah Phillips, Santiago would be Matt, Owen would be Arthur and Leslie would be Brenda Blue. Each fighter will get either Dash or Dot running up doing the PBS Kids logo in the background if you get a fantastic KO! Even for each Legacy Skins attack, you will have sound effects from that character's franchise's respective Learning Company games telling you to keep going and that you are doing great! The fact you are getting 2 characters from PBS Kids shows not represented with fighters is a great idea here and same with 2 characters from PBS Kids shows represented by fighters (heck, one is even cosplaying as Arthur!) A pretty, self-explanatory Legacy Skin!

Learning Company IPs Cosplaying Costumes

Buster as Reader Rabbit

ezgif-4-849c50767c.jpg

If Buster could not get the chance to cosplay as Hopsalot, he's getting the chance now to cosplay as one of the finest faces from The Learning Company, Reader Rabbit! Basically, Buster would gain Reader Rabbit's red shirt and gloves alongside his fur changing to the grayish fur Reader Rabbit has. Throughout the fight, if you get a combo, you will hear Reader Rabbit's voice in the background telling you that you are doing great alongside various Reader Rabbit sound effects as you hit your opponent! If you get a KO, Reader Rabbit will celebrate in the background with Sam and Mat being happy for you!

WordGirl the StarFlyer/WordGirl as Katie Cadet (StarFlyers)

channels4_profile.jpg

Since StarFlyers got such limited content, why don't we give one of the PBS Kids fighters who is also from outer space a Legacy Skin based on the main character, Katie Cadet herself? WordGirl will get Katie's outfit with the goggles, and all while she will still have her cape and helmet as she still will be WordGirl. When attacking, you will get some sound effects from the StarFlyers games as well as some other nifty visual effects. When you get a KO, Katie Cadet and her friends will cheer for you in the background and such similar to Buster's Reader Rabbit Legacy Skin's visual effects.

Arthur On The Oregon Trail/Arthur as Jimmy Montgomery (Trails)

ezgif-7-120f3384fc.jpg

The Trails series barely got any content in this update and The Oregon Trail is one of the most famous edutainment games out there. So, why don't we give one of the characters in PBS Kids: Brawltime! a chance to honor this franchise with a Legacy Skin as the games and series are owned by The Learning Company? Here, we have Arthur who just so happens to playing one of the Oregon Trail games for homework for Mr. Ratburn dressing up as Jimmy Montgomery with his outfit and hat. When you attack a fighter, you get 8-bit sound effects from the original Oregon Trail game and such. If you get a KO, the theme from one of the Trails games by The Learning Company game will play and your fate will say "A fighter has been KOd by you." If you get KOd however...a bad fate from the Trails games will show representing the doom you fell into.

Former IP/Company Owned by Learning Company Legacy Skin

Ok so Mr. Rogers has not received a Legacy Skin in a while AND KidPix is getting some love in The Learning Company Retro Collection with the in-game art hub. So to promote that, due to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood having lots of episodes about art and drawing, why don't we give him a Legacy Skin based on KidPix?

Mister Rogers will wear a light green sweater with the KidPix logo on the back of it. For his Light Neutral, all of the items he would share are the various tools you would use in a KidPix game. When you land an attack on another fighter, you will see a digitized art effect for that special, premium aesthetic similar to when you paint or draw in a KidPix game. If you get a KO, the Undo Guy will appear in the background and say one of his funny quotes like "I made a boo-booooo!" and so on for fun! Also, if you select to play in this Legacy Skin as Mister Rogers, the countdown at the beginning of the match will have the kids countdown singing the KidPix theme song counting down from 3 and then with the guy saying "Uno, uno...." as he does in the KidPix theme after the kids countdown to 1. It's a simple, premium-level Legacy Skin honoring such a great edutainment title that I played as a kid. I was considering giving Mister Rogers' Neighborhood the new PBS Kids tie-in Learning Company game, but that honor went to Between the Lions.

Alright, so all my Legacy Skins will be added alongside the fact that...we are getting 9 PBS Kids tie-in games into the PBS Kids Archives so congrats to me and Cyborg Sun! My apologies for the late job postings and all, life has been busy and I guess a lack of energy caused me to forget about this thread sometimes.

Now, onto some more fun jobs and a side job too!

Job 466:

We are done with content for The ClueFinders. However...after our next fighter for the second Learners Pass who will be revealed at the third annual PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit Finale in Boston, Massachusetts and yes...the criteria has been decided. After that fighter comes out...it seems we have more edutainment companies wanting to do some more tie-in products. However, I have changed the criteria. The edutainment company you can submit can have no connection to PBS Kids whatsoever. Similar to what we have done in the past...

You must:

  • Nominate an edutainment company with the above requirements
  • Post a picture of the logo of the company
  • Describe the PBS Kids connection the edutainment company has and a bit about the company (if there is any) alongside any connections to the guest character IPs for PBS Kids Sprout/Universal Kids and The Learning Company
  • What is the tie-in product or products this company is making?
  • Why is this company deserving of getting free content?
  • List the free content that will come into this update like how many assists, how many stages, etc. Also, list specifically what you want as well.
Also, the big shocker here....

For the new product, there will be some new products made based on the PBS Kids IPs in PBS Kids: Brawltime! to promote this product made by said company and such. So be sure to describe that type of merchandise that will come with said
product(s).

Job 467:

Add any last-minute bonus additions to the Photo Album and PBS Kids Archives for the ClueFinders update. You can add anything related to The Learning Company in there. We will need some sort of content for the Trails series as well somewhere.

Side Job:

Write a reveal trailer script for The ClueFinders. Once again, write this reveal trailer as a special occasion given...The ClueFinders are our second guest characters so try to wow your audience with your script and reveal. This trailer can be shown in a PBS Kids: Brawltime! showcase video or at a gaming event.

Get submitting and use your imagination!

Edutainment Company Tie-In

LeapFrog

LeapFrog-Logo-2004.png

An educational entertainment and electronics company that is turning 30 this year! They are certainly recognizable across tons of markets and people and...this is the PERFECT time to be adding some LeapFrog content into PBS Kids: Brawltime! Simply put it, they are just iconic with their various products including the LeapPad and Leapster. In terms of various IPs in PBS Kids: Brawltime! They have had a history with...they have released LeapPad books for PBS Kids IPs like Arthur, Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder, etc. Also, let's not forget that our PBS Kids Sprout IPs, The Wiggles received some LeapPad products from them as well! The Leapster also had some PBS Kids IP games from shows like The Magic School Bus, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Thomas and Friends, etc. The Learning Company has had a history with LeapFrog as well with Reader Rabbit receiving some LeapPad books.

Now, for the exciting part, in honor of its 30th anniversary, LeapFrog is coming out with not 1...but 2 nostalgic products for the ultimate edutainment product enthusiasts!!!!

These products are the Leapster Classic and LeapPad Classic.

The LeapPad Classic would be based on the Classic LeapPad with some new added features that make it compatible with more of the different types of books used on various LeapPad models. The LeapPad classic will have you use cartridges like the old LeapPad products did. The Leapster Classic is based on the Leapster and Leapster L-Max with the nostalgic cartridge holder but won't work with cartridges.

The super exciting part though...these models will be getting new licensed and non-licensed products!!!!

For the LeapPad Classic, you will be getting:

  • 2 brand new LeapPad books based on PBS Kids IPs seen in PBS Kids: Brawltime! from the 2000s era (2000-2005 ish) to stick with the realistic time frame
  • 2 brand new LeapPad books based on other kids' media franchises that have not recieved much televised attention from that era
  • 1 public domain kids story that never got a LeapPad book that will get one now
  • 1 kids show from another kids network/any other IP aimed towards kids in a way that never got a LeapPad book will get one
Each new book will come in retro packaging and have a cartridge and such.

As for the Leapster classic, you will get 2 brand new Leapster games based on PBS Kids IPs seen in PBS Kids: Brawltime! (one from the 2000s and one from a modern-day PBS Kids show that could get a retro-style Leapster game) alongside 2 other Leapster games in the old Leapster style (one based on other kids' media franchises that have not recieved much-televised attention from that era of the 2000s and one other IP aimed towards kids whether its a tv show from another network, video game franchise, etc.)

As for content in PBS Kids: Brawltime! from LeapFrog....we will get:

  • 2 assists based on non-licensed LeapFrog characters (1 from a LeapPad book and 1 from a Leapster game)
  • 4 items; 2 items based on items from non-licensed LeapFrog products, 1 item exclusive to a new PBS Kids IP product that's part of the Leapster or LeapPad classic and 1 item based on something only seen in a PBS Kids IP product for the LeapPad or Leapster from the 2000s and such)
  • 3 stages (1 based on a non-licensed LeapPad book, 1 based on a non-licensed Leapster game, and 1 based on a PBS Kids IP product for the LeapPad or Leapster from the 2000s and such)
  • Additional content to the PBS Kids Archives can be decided but specifically, I would want 1 non-licensed LeapPad book and 2 non-licensed Leapster games, we can also add other cool things too
  • 2-3 Legacy Skins, 2 based on LeapFrog's original IPs and 1 for a character from a PBS Kids IP that will recieve a new product that's a part of either the LeapPad or Leapster Classic
We will definitely do jobs about how the LeapPad books will be sold as well as the contents of both products for the VIP experience but this is the start I want to put out there! LeapFrog is here to bring some fun to the Brawltime Party!

Other Content for ClueFinders

I would say for the photo album, we can add concept art from the various Learning Company IPs and yes...this includes the Trails series and even stuff from the PBS Kids tie-in games. We'll even have pictures of all the Learning Company IP characters together alongside one with all the PBS Kids characters that got Learning Company games including Lionel and Xavier Riddle together as well!

I'm pretty solid on games but, I also thought of a fun little exclusive movie to promote that one Legacy Skin with Arthur...

It's a mini-short called

Go West, Young Arthur

I guess this would be some form of a tie-in episode of Arthur playing one of the Trails games and then gets sucked in and meets the Trails characters. Supposedly, absurdity happens and....we will have to find out if Arthur makes it out alive...or not?

I guess this is our crossover episode but it's more of those product-placement type of episodes on a TV show promoting a product.

I will submit a ClueFinders reveal trailer soon. It's just right now, I want to get these jobs up without any more delay and potentially give others a chance to write a reveal trailer script if you have any ideas! I'm all ears! :)

Ok.....so to tell the truth here, the reason I just wanted to pass on this initially was because I was at a comic con last weekend, so I didn't have much energy at the time, but now I have the time (and energy), so here goes:

Super Duper Publications

Being a kid who grew up with a lot of products made by this company, SDP have made many products revolving around learning through the use of flash cards, bingo boards, craft boxes and many other products in physical board or paper form. Heck, some of their products included those translucent red chips you often see at schools. As far as PBS Kids connections go, they have none, actually!

Why they should get free content in PBS Kids: Brawltime!? Well, not much other than they're an iconic, best-selling company.

As far as tie-in products go, there can be new sets of learning kits themed around the various PBS Kids characters! They can all be themed around their usual products, just with PBS Kids characters on them! As far as in-game free content, there can be a stage themed around their flash cards and bingo boards as well as a few items.

EDIT: Ok, so now that AlteredBeast mentioned it, here's a list of the things that could potentially make it in if SDP gets content for the game
-1 assist based on something like the flash cards or something
-4-5 items based around SDP's various educational products!
-2 legacy skins themed around SDP products or characters
-1 stage, trust me, this could be a lot of fun to think up of, a stage with flash cards or bingo boards, imagine the possibilities!

I must say...I have NOT thought of Super Duper Publications getting some PBS Kids: Brawltime! content. As for someone who used to use their products as a kid receiving speech therapy and I own some of their products in my house still...it is a VERY fun and nostalgic idea. However, if possible, please try and list the amount of content the Super Duper Publications update will come with (How many stages and based on what, assists, items, Legacy Skins, etc.) so I know how big the update will be.

As for the rest of our regular contributors being Cyborg Sun Cyborg Sun CoolCarrot23 CoolCarrot23 and IkeaInklingMustHappen IkeaInklingMustHappen

I want everyone to try and think outside the box for our next edutainment company tie-in. I'll leave submissions open till hopefully Tuesday. There's lots of ideas out there for sure.

And now....

My ClueFinders reveal trailer at last!

ClueFinders Reveal Trailer

Mystery of The Brawltime Party

We start with a montage of all the characters revealed fighting on the stages and what with then the PBS Kids: Brawltime! logo appearing with all the base game characters plus the two free bonus characters, all the Learner's Pass Vol. 1 fighters, Curious George and Nature Cat.

We then see the Announcer Bunny pop out of his hat in his live-action form.

Announcer Bunny: AAAAAAAA-Nouncer Bunny here to tell you all....welcome back to the Brawltime Party!

We then see Click the mouse appear.

Click: Computer mouse reporting with important news! I have been receiving some sort of...strange data for some sort of new addition to our archives of PBS Kids history.

Announcer Bunny: Hmmm....that doesn't seem too good....

Announcer Bunny then checks the computer with Click in his hand (you do not see the screen) and goes through the archives website until some strange flashing lights appear (not too many because it will cause seizures)

Announcer Bunny: Uh oh! This is not TOO good! Ahhhh!

We then see everything become all digitized as we see Announcer Bunny and Click go through the computer to where we see footage of various PBS Kids website games and video games with more specific emphasis on footage from Arthur's Camping Adventure, Cyberchase: Castleblanca Quest, Zoboomafoo: Creature Quest, Caillou: Magic Playhouse, Jay Jay the Jet Plane: High-Flying Sky Circus and Liberty's Kids.

Afterward...we see Announcer Bunny in the animation style of Learning Company games such as Reader Rabbit and The ClueFinders in the Learning Company universe where it's near a certain clubhouse.

Announcer Bunny looks around.

Announcer Bunny: This setting does not look too familiar at all.

Click: It seems my signal is detecting that the next invitees are around here somewhere, and they are not from the many worlds that Dash has traversed.

We then see Dash, Arthur, Buster, Digit, Hacker, Chris and Martin (in their clothing from Zoboomafoo), Big Bird, Elmo, Mr. Rogers, Lionel and Xavier Riddle appear in the Learning Company animation style as well.

We then see a cursor appear similar to the Learning Company games mentioned where it clicks on Dash.

Dash: Hey, I know where we are! We are in...The Learning Company server!

Arthur: Hmm....I remember some game about me and my friends going on a camping adventure!

Buster: And I was there too...no aliens though.

Digit: Same with that whole carnival Hacker tried to ruin.

Dash: Well, without any further discussion, I know who to give this invite too! Come on everyone!

We then move forth to the clubhouse where we notice four familiar-looking kids, a laptop, and a dog. All the PBS Kids: Brawltime! characters appear before them.

LapTrap: Uh oh! Looks like we got company! This is good then, I guess!

Joni: Maybe they will give us a new mystery!

Owen: They seem like cool dudes!

Santiago: I just hope this isn't TOO dangerous.

Leslie: Wait a second...that green boy looks awfully familar.

The cast of PBS Kids: Brawltime! characters come in.

Dash: Oh um...is Joni here by any chance?

Joni is then clicked on by the cursor.

Joni: Yes, hi, I'm Joni, I'm the leader of the group called the ClueFinders with my friends Leslie, Santiago and Owen.

Dash: Well, I'm Dash! Some of my friends have came to your universe in the past and since our worlds seem to have collided...I want to invite all of you to the Brawltime Party I'm hosting still!

Dash then hands Joni a green invite.

Joni: Oh well, this sounds like a party!

Leslie: And a mystery too! You never know who might be at this party!

Owen: Well dudes, what are we waiting for?

Santiago: Hopefully there's no trouble!

Introducing The ClueFinders (We see Joni, Santiago, Leslie and Owen stand next to the text in the PBS Kids-style font while Announcer Bunny says "The ClueFinders!")

We then see Joni in action fighting against Elmo, Xavier Riddle and Dash on PTV Park with a remix of The ClueFinders theme from The Learning Company Learning Launcher.

Elmo: Elmo is so happy his new friends came to party!

Mister Rogers: They definitely seem like a great group of kids with great talents.

We see Joni use her light moves on all of her opponents on a variety of stages until.

Leslie: Hey, wait a second!

We then see Leslie appear on Once Upon a Restaurant fighting against Buster and Chris and Martin and gameplay footage of her.

Leslie: Don't forget about us! We were invited too!

Then, we see Owen fighting against Ruff Ruffman and Miss Frizzle on The Magic School Bus stage with the light moves being showcased.

Owen: Yeah dudes, check my cool stunts out!

Finally, we see Santiago fighting against Hacker on Cyberspace.

Santiago: Yeah, for sure, as long as my friends are here, that's what matters!

We then cut to seeing Joni use the Up Special on the Tarrytown Sky Parade stage with Barney, Lionel and WordGirl on it.

Then, we cut to footage of Joni fighting on The Living Volcano stage showcasing its hazards and gimmicks and the parts of it as well as footage of the Event Match, "The Rambunctious Reign of the Living Volcano Lava Monster" against Betsy and Xavier Riddle.

Owen: Woah! It's that volcano we went into!

Santiago: It's hot in here!

Leslie: Say, maybe there's not too many monsters in here! Just some people ready for a quick brawl!

Joni: Let's not forget what we do best!

We then see Santiago use the Neutral Special move on the Mrs. Jenkins's Classroom stage.

Santiago: Of course! We solve mysteries quite well!

We see the various ClueFinders characters use the Neutral Special as well as then show off their Down Special by checking their inventory and using strong items.

Owen: Oh right, some cool items we got from those mysteries!

Then, we see Owen pull out a Bookerang item and showcase its function on The Busterfield Library stage on Lionel and Curious George.

Joni: Woah, it's that book from that mysterious mansion arcade we explored once!

We even see the Bookerang KO some opponents and its functions.

Santiago: Um...quite dangerous.

LapTrap: Don't forget, I'm right here and um....this is sure a safe idea.

Owen: So that's why you haven't been talking much, dude? Too scared to party?

Joni: Well, if we think right, we can....

We then see Joni encounter Barney with the Mathra assist on the Bronx Rooftops stage.

Leslie: Oh my, it's Mathra!

Santiago: That one dangerous dragon from the Numerian jungle that got locked many years ago is freed.

We see Joni use the Neutral Special and then use the items from her Down Special to KO the dragon assist showcasing that function.

Joni: It's easy if we use our mystery-solving skills.

We then see Santiago with the Mathra assist using it on Bobsville Castle against Bob the Builder with the Gawain assist and Malik, Zadie and Zeke in their JRPG Legacy Skin and Nature Cat and showcasing Mathra's function.

Now, the music transitions to a remix of the intro jingle from The ClueFinders games.

We then see footage of:

  • The ClueFinder's taunt with Joni using it
  • Leslie with Arthur with The Brain assist on The Lakeshore Elementary School and Playground Stage
  • Santiago dodging hazards and going through a quick section of the Story Mode chapter that comes with The ClueFinders that does not give too much away
  • Owen eating Tubby Ramen with The Teletubbies on the Magical Events stage
The music stops and we cut back to the regular Learning Company animation with all the characters celebrating. Then, we see Click detect something.

Click: Everyone! There is another problem! I'm sensing more weird signals coming here soon!

LapTrap then starts acting up.

LapTrap: This is g...g...great then.

Everyone look at him.

His screen then shows footage of various Learning Company games being Reader Rabbit, StarFlyers, Rocky's Boots, Robot Odyssey, Gertrude's Puzzles, The Oregon Trail, Zoombinis, Super Seeker and KidPix as it then cuts to a purple, gooeyish digitized screen to hint at the Anomaly coming back.

The screen turns to black.

We then cut to the PBS Kids: Brawltime! logo as we hear the faint noise from the 2002 Learning Company logo as the ClueFinders are added to the logo with the other 31 fighters making the total number of fighters, 32!

It fades to a black screen with the copyright info.

We cut back to Announcer Bunny in his regular setting.

Announcer Bunny: Well...we sure got to see a lot and I hope our worlds get restored pretty fast! The good news is though, our second guest fighters and our third fighter for Learner's Pass Vol. 2, The ClueFinders join PBS Kids: Brawltime! Their Meet the Fighters video will come out after this presentation as well and the update containing them will be coming out right after this presentation as well!!!

The presentation continues.

This trailer introduces:

  • The ClueFinders as a fighter, their moveset and main gimmick alongside their taunt as well as the fact you can only play as one ClueFinder at a time
  • Their home stage, The Living Volcano, its hazards and gimmicks
  • Mathra as an assist and his function
  • The Bookerang item and its function
  • Footage of The ClueFinder's Story Mode chapter that doesn't spoil too much of the plot
  • The event match "The Rambunctious Reign of the Living Volcano Lava Monster"
  • Hints at other Learning Company games being represented in The ClueFinders's pack
  • Hints a bit vaguely at the various characters in the trailer being in The ClueFinders's Story Mode and other indirect hints
  • Hints also at the Learning Company Memories stage with the PBS Kids Learning Company tie-in games being shown
Well, here's the trailer at long last! I did my best to make it a tribute to games made by The Learning Company and did not want to make the trailer TOO similar to Ty Rux's trailer but I thought that now I had a chance to write it, here it is! I hope you all enjoy it!

Got something for the edutainment company tie-in, I think these guys count right?

Melissa & Doug

M&DLogo.png

Now, it would be a bit ironic to tie the game in with them, as their whole "thing" is creating technology-less pretend play products (very nice & old-school if you ask me!). As a trade-off for sponsoring a video game though, they will also release role-play play sets based on various PBS Kids properties, something that they'd never done before to my knowledge. (They do have products based on Nick Jr. properties, so they aren't strangers to making merchandise for kids' shows)

The properties represented should probably be those that are aimed at much younger audiences (good examples include Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Elinor Wonders Why, and Dinosaur Train). Tie-ins to actual franchises represented in Brawltime is optional, but could help give an edge in the selection process.

But now for the really important part: The actual Brawltime content!

  • 1 new assist based on a popular Melissa & Doug product, preferably something "character-based" and not a simple object... that's for the items.
  • 5 new items based on various Melissa & Doug products. Variety is recommended!
  • 1 new original stage that simply conveys the core themes of Melissa & Doug's products. (One possible idea, for instance, is one that takes place in a "pretend town" filled with their many playsets, but you can use your imagination and submit something else!)
  • 2 new Legacy Skins. (these should just fit the general theme of dress-up, another set of products they offer... or you could turn one of them into the (in)famous Chef puppet... up to you)
So, as you can see, this tie-in would be very "item-focused." I felt that would fit with this company the best.

Alright, so my trailer for the ClueFinders will be used as well as all my other content, and thank you Pop for adding the content amount to Super Duper Publications. As for the edutainment company tie-in, I will extend the submission period by just one more day so...last call to CoolCarrot23 CoolCarrot23 and IkeaInklingMustHappen IkeaInklingMustHappen and anyone else who wants to get a submission in for free edutainment content for this game!

Now, I have a few polls regarding for future sponsors for the PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit if we should submit job prompts for specific categories of brands to sponsor the PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit. Please vote in the Strawpoll below.

Championship Circuit Brand Submission Job Prompt Poll

Now, onto our next piece of content for the PBS adult block mini-party pack!

Job 468:

Submit content for the PBS (Adult Block) Mini-Party Pack. You can submit up to...

  • 2 stages based on shows from the PBS Adult Block (Describe the layout of the stage, hazards, and/or gimmicks if any)
  • 2 items based on items or characters from shows on the PBS Adult Block (Describe the function of the item)
  • 2 Legacy Skins inspired by characters or things on shows from the PBS Adult Block
You can also submit any other content too for the PBS Kids Archives, Photo Album, etc.

Get submitting and use your imagination!

PBS Adult Block Mini-Party Pack

Stages

The Joy of Painting Canvas (The Joy of Painting)

hq720.jpg

I know we have a section in Xavier Riddle's stage based on this iconic PBS show but...what if we were to do the iconic canvas Bob Ross paints on? It's a tranquil stage where you fight on a canvas where Bob Ross's hand will paint it. Occasionally, Bob's pallette will appear as an additional platform. Watch out for his paintbrush though. You will also hear audio clips of Ross's voice in the background talking about the painting itself. You'll get to fight inside his masterpieces! Of course, this show would represent PBS's Adult Block given its one of the gentler PBS shows for adults.

The Mountain of Ice (Nova)

prod-01teamonupperdater.jpg

I wanted to represent Nova here as this show is TOO iconic. They do cover topics that would not be appropriate for the nature of the game and I wanted to go with a stage based on one of the more iconic episodes from the show. We do not have too many winter/snow/ice-themed stages so this works. In this stage, you travel up the Vinson Massif in Antarctica with Liev Schreiber narrating during your track. The ice may fall and snow and wind will get in your way so watch out and keep your ground! When you get to the top, you will stay up there and enjoy the view and then you start your trek up the mountain all over again.

Items

Antiques Roadshow Treasure Chest (Antiques Roadshow)

10400179_78158427780_6892071_n.jpg

An extremely rare item given in Antiques Roadshow, the people who show appraisers items are usually showing them rare items. When you see this treasure chest spawn, you will open it and get...a ton of super strong and rare items at your disposal! After all, we developers are the appraisers of when the items appear so...consider this a rare case and call yourself a real winner if you see this treasure chest in battle and you pick it up. It's quite special!

Dinosaur Fossil Parts (Nova)

did-some-dinosaurs-breed-in-the-arctic-hero.width-2000.jpg

I had to represent the cooler animal-based parts of Nova with this fun item. It's a multi-part item where you need to uncover various fossils. They will spawn throughout the battlefield. Once you collect them all, the dinosaur apocalypse begins where meteors fall and it's the extinction of them! There are some parts of the dinosaur fossil you can use as swords and such but you do not want to break them as they are fragile! This item will spawn semi-often so be ready to make that dinosaur!

Legacy Skins

Xavier Riddle as Bob Ross

images.jpeg

I mean...you all saw this coming. Xavier Riddle did "meet" Bob Ross in an episode of Xavier Riddle and The Secret Museum. Xavier will gain Bob Ross's hair and beard alongside his outfit. All of Xavier's attacks will have an artsy paint splash-themed effect when landed. When you land a KO, Bob Ross will appear in the background and say "We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents." as it is his iconic quote. An overall fun Legacy Skin.

Origins of Big Bird on Nova

9780394859262.jpg

This one is very similar to my The Living Raptor on Sesame Street Legacy Skin idea but since Nova has talked about dinosaurs a lot, this skin works here for Big Bird. It also doubles as a reference to the Between the Lions episode Tweet, Tweet where Big Bird made a cameo in, and that Between the Lions episode was all about dinosaurs! Big Bird gains dinosaur claws as well as more of a dinosaur-like skull. He will have orange feathers similar to the dinosaur Herb from Sesame Street. The letters in his Light Up and Neutral Special have a more prehistoric look to them AND the letters are based on prehistoric dinosaurs/animals that begin with that letter so the A would be an apatosaurus, P for pterodactyl, T for tyrannosaurus, etc. The attack is not changed but the visual effect is different. You will also get one of the narrators from Nova narrating about that animal once you use that letter. When you get a KO, a narrator from Nova will talk about Big Bird and the scientific aspects of him and even some stuff about how he's related to dinosaurs. It's an old Legacy Skin idea of mine but just tweaked a little.

For the episodes, I chose an episode for The Joy of Painting at random. For Nova, it was solely the documentary that inspired the stage and for Antiques Roadshow, I thought...why not do a special covering all the special, rare items shown off in the show? You also get a Between the Lions episode that featured Dan Eilas from Antiques Roadshow on it as a guest star. You also get some website goodies and concept art. Nothing too special here.

LeapFrog

View attachment 389409

Got something for the edutainment company tie-in, I think these guys count right?

Melissa & Doug

View attachment 389642

Ok, so I will leave the PBS Adult Block mini-party pack job open for another day. However, I will close the edutainment tie-in product content job now and we will vote on which company will get the next free update and tie-in products.

Now, I have two jobs for us to do. One I will share now and the other one Pop will share.

Please vote for your top 2 edutainment companies to get tie-in products and free content but your own can only come in second!

Now, onto the first of two jobs!

Job 469:

Submit a job prompt for a sponsor for the PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit. Based on the Strawpoll, it seems everyone is fine submitting a job prompt in regards to a sponsor. You can submit ONLY ONE prompt for either a brand with PBS Kids history or no PBS Kids history. Also, you cannot submit a prompt for a Super Sponsor as Super Sponsors will still be a free-for-all with a tie-in product. Make sure your job prompt is specific but leaves room for awesome submissions! We will either do the top two submissions for each brand category (PBS Kids history or no PBS Kids history) where you can choose between either or to submit a brand to sponsor the circuit or not.

Get submitting and use your imagination!

My votes:

1. Super Duper Publications (As someone who used to use their products a lot in school (mostly when I did speech and even owned some...this can be an awesome tie-in! I would figure a good amount of PBS Kids: Brawltime's playerbase would be adults with disabilities and Super Duper Publications's products were made for kids with autism and those with disabilities. I don't think Super Duper Publications has done any sort of tie-in product before and is all that popular for people to buy for homes. But, PBS Kids: Brawltime! can provide Super Duper Publications with some awesome tie-in stuff. I feel we should do a job for in-game content regarding the PBS Kids tie-in product. If this wins, we can make up a PBS Kids tie-in product for the company to make. Let's not forget they made board games too besides bingo cards so...some ideas for stuff to add!)
2. Melissa and Doug (Super iconic company as well. We could do some in-game content based on the PBS Kids tie-in products we make. We could have an indirect SML reference in the Legacy Skins though. )

I did not vote for my own since I do feel we should go for a company that is not based around edutainment video games this time given we have gotten so many tie-ins recently based on edutainment video games being for JumpStart and...The Learning Company. Super Duper Publications is my favorite as I loved their products as a kid and my parents even got me some of their stuff as gifts for Christmas, birthdays, as a reward for good behavior, etc. Plus, I'm surprised Super Duper Publications never did any sort of licensed products.

If I could submit an edutainment company not based around video games...it would be Lakeshore Learning Materials.

Job Prompt for Sponsors:

Submit a brand that has had no PBS KIds history that has had involvement in eSports before.

A fun one to start us off. I do not know how many brands we have in here with eSports history besides Chipotle I think but...this opens up the idea for some fun brands.

And now, whenever Pop is ready, it's time for our fourth Learner's Pass Vol. 2 fighter! But....this is going to be a VERY exciting submission round so let's get ready!

Gonna get my votes off real quick before the next big fighter prompt:

1. LeapFrog
2. Melissa & Doug

Also, I wonder if it's best to get the first post updated with all the new content, a lot has been accumulated and I don't want it to be buried (and maybe find a use for my icons, hmmm ;))

I dunno, I tried to think of idea we haven't thought up of before, but here's one.

Alright, since I'm cared to do the honors.....

Job 469:

Well for this next character job, this one is going to be one that has a really exciting part to it. You are to submit a character from a PBS Kids show that either has minor representation or no representation at all to finally make it in as a fighter! Even though there may not be a lot left in that category, I still believe there's plenty of PBS Kids shows that sorely need big representation here in PBS Kids: Brawltime! If you thought that that was the "Really exciting part", you'd be wrong! The REAL really exciting part is that whoever wins this character job gets to have a big promotion given to them, such as a reboot of their show (given if it's initial run ended) or a new video game! Like with any other character job, it must be a character with a strong connection to the PBS brand/identity, and please explain the character, the show they are from, why they deserve to be in the roster and how they can fight/what they can bring. Be sure to give your all into this! Get submitting and use your imagination!

My submission (actually a resubmission):

Sagwa (Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat, 2001)

Interestingly, I have submitted her several times in the past, but that won't stop me from trying to get her in! I am a cat person and I feel that her show shows a lot of respect towards Chinese culture and there's barely any representation in Plat-Fighters for quadrupeds!

Her show takes place in China during the late Qing Dynasty, where she and her other cat friends and family learn lessons regarding family obligations and loyalty. What's interesting about the show is that it's cross-cultural, meaning its theme song is in both English and Chinese.

She deserves a spot in the roster for many reasons. One, there have historically been barely any platform fighting games to have cats as playable fighters, and I am a cat person myself. Two, her show in general, although short-lived, was very obscure and underrated. It fits into the category of obscure 2000's PBS Kids shows. Three, her show takes place in China, which is a country that is very well-known in the USA, with Chinese being one of the most spoken languages in the world. China's THAT recognizable, and the way it's represented in her show is treated with high respect. Those are just 3 examples of my reason she deserves a spot in the roster.

Sagwa would be a lightweight character with high mobility and jumping skills and can also run very fast (Cats can run at 30 mph after all). Most of her attacks would involve swiping her paws at others. One idea for a gimmick or special move I have is a "predatory mode", where she would enter a pose where she is about to pounce something, which is something real world cats tend to do sometimes. Another idea I have for her moves is that can call upon powerful Chinese spirits to fight alongside her. So overall, her moves would be a combination of real-world cat moves and summoning mighty Chinese spirits.

Not that AlteredBeast mentioned it, I think a reboot of her show would be sick, or she could have a video game since she never got any! (Apart from Flash games). I would LOVE to see a cat 3D platformer any day!

I believe we only have their city fountain as a stage? We need more! Since Benny and Sara are in as assists, why not just get the other two in? Let the whole gang be here!

Sure it's not one of the more popular modern PBS Kids shows, but it's an interesting one, it's kind of like a kiddie My Hero Academia.

You could mainly control Lucita and have AJ use gadgets for special attacks.

In terms of what big promotion they could get, why not a traditional turn-style RPG? I think that would make a lot of sense.

I think only an item represents her series, being vegetable soup. Clearly, we need more than that!

She could make for a lot of agility based movement options, in terms of movement speed and attack speed. Wondering Why can make for an interesting gimmick idea.

For what she could get, either a second season for her show or a video game, like a puzzle-RPG!

I also forgot to add for PopCultureCorn PopCultureCorn and the others, be sure to give your character the reboot or video game for their series and describe how the reboot or video game will go as...the content from their reboot or video game will be used in the moveset as well as for their reveal trailer and such as this character will be revealed in the 3rd annual PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit finale!

Lucita Sky, Benny Bubbles, Sara Snap, AJ Gadgets (Hero Elementary)

Either they can play like the Teletubbies, swapping between the 4 of them or have a certain kid hero appear during certain moves, like Lucita for jump and air attacks, AJ for special attacks, Benny for ground attacks and Sara for agility options.
Elinor (Elinor Wonders Why)

CoolCarrot23 CoolCarrot23 IkeaInklingMustHappen IkeaInklingMustHappen You both need to include a video game idea for your franchises. As for CoolCarrot, Benny and Sara are assists so they can't be fighters. Your submission will have to be altered.

My submission

Duck (WordWorld)

unnamed-1.jpg

I'm surprised he hasn't been submitted in a long while. But, Duck is one of the main characters from the PBS Kids show WordWorld which ran from 2007 to 2011. The show also got reruns for a decade from

The show was about animal characters who are WordFriends who build things called WordThings out of letters as everything on their planet WordWorld is made up of letters spelling out what thing they are. By using synthetic phonics to solve their problems, they surely know how to teach kids how to build words and teach some great phonics skills which it focused on spelling, rhymes, etc. In other countries, WordWorld taught kids how to speak English. Funny enough, this show debuted the same day Super Why and WordGirl debuted on PBS Kids so...reveal trailer idea here? The show itself was based on the books and puzzles of the same name so there's that too.

Duck on the other hand is one of the main characters of the show and was voiced by Tyler Bunch who has had PBS Kids history working on Sesame Street and Between the Lions so there's that prior connection with his actor. Peter Linz was also on this show too which is awesome! In general, WordWorld is one of those "Why hasn't this show gotten any content in PBS Kids: Brawltime! yet?" PBS Kids shows since it's a show that defines PBS Kids's newer era or after what many consider the "Golden Era" which was from 1999-2006. WordWorld can complete the trifecta of PBS Kids shows that debuted in 2007 that taught reading skills and in general, represent the later 2000s for PBS Kids.

As for the product he is promoting, WordWorld is getting a new video game called...

WordWorld: Your Wonderful World of Words

Basically, this game will be similar to various social simulation and sandbox games like Animal Crossing, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, etc. You get to create a WordFriend who is an animal and go around WordWorld creating your own house, creating things by collecting letters, earning letters by doing tasks for the various WordWorld characters, etc. In fact, you can trade items and letters with other WordFriends who inhabit the world and such. There will be tons of events themed after other PBS Kids shows and cool crossover stuff. Plus, let's not forget, there will be some cool adventures you can go on too to get bigger and cooler items for your house. It's basically a baby's first sandbox and social simulation game. If you want your child to get a starter before getting into games like Animal Crossing or are just nostalgic, this is your game!

This game does in fact coincide with Duck's gimmick..

Word Builder and Letter Inventory

Duck will have a gimmick similar to Steve from Super Smash Bros Ultimate in terms of collecting items and such. Throughout the match, if you choose Duck, letters will spawn on the stage. Collect the letters and store them in your inventory. Some letters spawn more often than others. However, you can only hold about 12 letters at a time to make his gimmick not too broken. Then, when you have enough letters, you can build words to assist you like CAR for attacking, APPLE to recover some health, etc. We can determine what words can be a part of this gimmick but...there's lots of possibilities.

Overall, Duck would be such a fun addition and WordWorld is just a very iconic PBS Kids show. An overall solid pick that would make a great reveal at the PBS Kids: Brawltime! Championship Circuit as I along with other people are nostalgic for this show.

This is a pretty open round but PLEASE remember to submit the video game tie-in or reboot idea for your character as well! Also, don't forget to vote for the edutainment companies and do job prompt submissions for sponsors for Year 4 of the Championship Circuit! Keep up the good work and get submitting and voting!

Introducing... Matthias
Matthiaspreview.PNG

Somewhat contrasting the submission PopCultureCorn PopCultureCorn made with a cat, comes the young mouse warrior from Redwall, which right now is only represented by one item. Based on the novels by Brian Jacques of the same name, this used to be an American Public Television distribution that many would find as quite notable on PBS Kids, being possibly the only show with no explicit educational content. As well, the show explores some darker themes (but isn't nearly as dark as the actual novels get). If you compare the PBS catalogue to Nintendo's offerings, you could very easily view this as a "Fire Emblem" type of series.

While some may say the real Smash has too many swordfighters, for Brawltime!... this choice would introduce the very first swordfighter to the game! His unique gimmick is derrived from the fact that he'd be one of the very few characters on the roster that actually knows how to fight, funny as that sounds... as a true warrior, Matthias learns more about the opponents' attacks by observing them... well, more like by getting hit by them. If he gets hit enough by the same attack, he will have a small chance of automatically dodging it! (As long as it's not part of a combo; This would ideally only be for single moves that are spammed over and over, as breaking out of combos for free based on RNG is too cheap) This chance grows higher the more he's hit by that same attack, so it would be smart to mix up your attack patterns against this legendary hero!

Aside from that, his main moveset could simply be inspired by the likes of Link & Marth (and clones/semi-clones) from the real Smash. I'd advise against having a counter-attack special move though, I think the auto-dodge chance is enough and the shield mechanic of the game is already a universal counter.

But wait, what about that special tie-in?

Season 4: Mariel of Redwall

Each season of the Redwall cartoon was an adaptation of a different book in the series. Season 1 was of the first Redwall, Season 2 was of Mattimeo, and Season 3 was of Martin the Warrior. If Matthias is chosen, this cartoon series will not only come back to the PBS Kids website for streaming, but it will also gain a revival in the form of a fourth season. Giving us the show's first central female protagonist, this season would be an adaptation of Mariel of Redwall (which, coincidentally, was the fourth published book of the series). There have already been Redwall games in the past, so I thought it would be more unique to specifically revive the cartoon this version of Matthias is from instead.

For Sagwa, her brother Dongwa is interested in Tai Chi and Kung Fu, perhaps it would be fun to include some of that in her moveset? Oh, and some cute tail swipes too of course; She is a calligrapher, after all.

Lucita and AJ... well, I think it'd be pretty fun if AJ was the main playable one instead, actually. I'm a bit biased though, since he's a pretty nice representation of autistic kids... but his variety of gadgets and his ability to project his thoughts is also a bit more unique to me. Either way though, the idea of a "work as a team" gimmick without actually having to swap between different characters is fun! This could probably explore the idea deeper than what I did with Nature Cat's light attacks.

I came up with a fun idea for a gimmick for Elinor. You know those moments that happen in the show occasionally where these big zoom-in shots happen? Perhaps those could be incorporated somehow... in something of an opposite to Nature Cat's big gimmick, Elinor leans heavier into studying the opponent. This is for finding weaknesses in them; once she's studied them enough, she gains access to the ability to strike harder with her charged light attacks when the opponent leaves themselves open after an attack, leading to a zoom-in shot of the "weak point" being struck and opening the door to new combos. Yup, it's a weird fusion of Mortal Kombat 11's Krushing Blow and Street Fighter V's Crush Counter systems! Being light and agile, this shouldn't be too broken, as her lights would be stuck at being kind of weak (even charged) without it.
