I have been simultaneously looking forward to and dreading this round. I am a big fan of the Mega Man games and an especially big fan of their music. I would say that the Mega Man series has the best overall music in all of video game history (not including the Chrono Trigger series, because Yasunori Mitsuda turns on God Mode whenever he composes). My wish list for this stage is easily over 50 songs and every song I cut from the list to pare it down to 10 felt like dragging a beloved family pet out to the woods to bean in over the head with a Louisville Slugger.

So! List!

Name: Dr. Wily's Castle 1+2
Universe: Mega Man
Origin: Mega Man 2 (1989)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlUl_hgXplg
Reason: Mostly confirmed and pretty much a must have for this stage. One of the most popular Mega Man tracks of all time and a Wily Castle track to boot. I don't think it needs any extra justifying to deserve a track of its own. Included the Smash Bros Arrangement.

Name: Dr. Wily's Castle 3+4
Universe: Mega Man
Origin: Mega Man 3 (1990)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVWTpMGMNEg&t=0m40s
Reason: Another very strong Dr. Wily stage song that is sadly overshadowed by its MM2 brethren. It deserves a chance to shine and I'm giving it room here. I have included a rocking arrangement that I feel fits the mood perfectly.

Name: Whistle Concert
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 3 (1990)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxhCsKCyUkg (Classic)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGSzKfFLuBo&t=0m11s (Arrangement)
Reason: Protoman's theme, which is another very recognizable song from the Mega Man series. The original jam packs so much emotion into it that it seems blasphemous to mess with it. Yet, in order to really work as a stage theme here, I think it needs to be given more punch. So I am offering up a classic rendition of the song along with a jacked up battle version. Pick your personal favorite in My Music, I guess.

Name: Central Highway
Universe: Mega Man
Origin: Mega Man X (1993)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F2jf0NRl2Y
Reason: With the reveal of 4 other Mega Man variation joining in on the final smash, I think it is fitting to pay homage to the other series' in music as well. From Mega Man X, here is the song for the opening level. It is a dark and urgent tune, which fits the tone of the X series well and would make it fit nicely on a Dr. Wily themed stage.

Name: Flutter Vs. The Gesellschaft
Universe: Mega Man
Origin: Mega Man Legends (1997)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v07PY14Zyw
Reason: A very catchy tune from the original Megaman Legends that was also used in the trailer for the highly anticipated Mega Man Legends 3 (pre-cancellation). This is the perfect way to let the dream of getting Mega Man Volnutt back from the moon live on.

Name: Battle Network Theme
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man Battle Network (2001)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZocM0ZCnH5Q
Reason: This theme will be very familiar to any fans of the Battle Network series. Switches between a more intense sound and more relaxed one; and still feels all around like a Mega Man track. Should make for a good arrangement!

Name: Shooting Star
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man Star Force 2 (2007)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEfKv4KcgPE&index=1
Reason: Rounding out our "Alternate Mega Man" tour de force is Shooting Star, the leitmotif for the Star Force series. The rendition from the second game would translate the best to a fighting game.

Name: Through the Air
Universe: Mega Man
Origin: Mega Man Battle & Chase (1998)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNyUN4-tGdI
Reason: You can blame this one on @ Starphoenix Starphoenix . Ever since he posted this back on page 12 (!) of this thread, I have not been able to forget it. Obscure Mega Man game or not, I just freaking love this track. This will be my oddball personal pick for this round; no regrets!

Name: Abandoned Memories
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 10 (2008)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_KIMUfWfIQ&t=0m45s
Reason: Getting back down to business. Here is a newer Wily theme from one of the Mega Man retro sequels. More classic Mega Man music styling. This track has a cool underlying tone to it that really sells it.

Name: Robot Master Suite
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Friggin' all of 'em.
Link: Cut Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYusxYh0QRY
Air Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHr_MR8BHOg
Metal Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8CGIa0O6ms
Snake Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfWwJrzjqPM
Spark Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQMeNbgF4U0
Dust Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiMx62EMpgg
Skull Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyW4m9YbiGk
Gravity Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wweEZRtNX0
Tomahawk Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxETJITJc-8
Yamato Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh9ij42Qba8
Turbo Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQv4Dd6i8oQ
Junk Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6Sb70-pgnE
Astro Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVhrF8tUYWo
Galaxy Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V_AUjnS9HQ
Tornado Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ADqQybbCPo
Solar Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7FEAlecQKI
Reason: Why, yes. This is a 16 song medley. Thanks for noticing. How does such a long list like this work? Well, like the Robot Masters themselves, these tracks can be played in any order! Each time the music is played on the stage, you will first hear the familiar sound of the boss gates opening and closing. Then one of the songs will kick off and play for roughly 30 seconds before fading out. Then the gate sound will happen again and the next song will begin. A group of eight songs will be chosen at random each time and played in a random order, repeating if necessary. The songs you get and the order they play will never be the same twice!

*EDIT* - Is there a word for the feeling you get when you post a soundtrack list and then realize that your 5th, 6th, and 7th song are the exact same as the 5th, 6th, and 7th song of the guy who posted his list 7 minutes before you?

Heck yeah, here we go! I went for major songs and I also wanted to represent the other series that are part of Mega Man's final smash, so I've got one song from the X series, the Legends series, and the Battle Network series in addition to all the classic Mega Man songs.

1) Name: Mega Man 2 Medley
Game: Mega Man 2
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjD9atkEo70
Notes: Before this was confirmed to be a medley, I actually had an idea to put them all together in one, but it turns out that Nintendo did that for me, and it sounds awesome!

2) Name: Mega Man 3 Title
Game: Mega Man 3
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVsVw7Y7SSA
What I Want it To Sound Like: http://youtu.be/Lb0QYr1-QyQ?t=1m38s
Notes: This is my favorite classic Mega Man game, and my favorite title them in the series. It would sound awesome with a rock remix, similar to the Video Games Live version. (Which I included for reference. Dat guitar from 2:38-2:44!)

3) Name: Protoman's Theme
Game: Mega Man 3
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d30OSJkt7Dc
Notes: You've gotta have this somewhere. I'd say it's one of the most iconic Mega Man themes, and we've had slower. more thoughtful songs before (Calling to the Night and nearly every Animal Crossing song.)

4) Name: Cut Man's Theme
Game: Mega Man
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7pEvKb4GyY (What I think it should sound like.)
Notes: Cut Man is probably the most iconic robot master, along with Guts Man. I think the fact that his theme was used for SFXT should say a lot, and it's just a sweet song.

5) Name: Dr. Wily Stage 1
Game: Mega Man 7
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z5oi3vWXlw
Notes: In my opinion, this is the best Wily Stage music. It just has that ominous, epic, final area vibe, and I love the rock elements that would sound really awesome with Wii U quality sound.

6) Name: Mega Man X Intro Stage Medley
Games: Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, and Mega Man X3
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwoLeokTjY0
Notes: I made this myself, but I think it would be cool to have a medley of the Intro Stage themes from the SNES Mega Man X games. This is made as just an example, so it won't sound as good as an official song, but I like how it turned out and think it would be great to hear in the two Smash Bros. games.

7) Name: The Flutter VS The Gesellschaft
Game: Mega Man Legends
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk4n0wEQR_A
Notes: This is the go-to song for Mega Man Legends representation in other gmes. It was Volnutt's theme in Tatsunoko VS Capcom, and it was Tron's theme in Marvel VS Capcom 3, so I think it would be cool to see it appear here, and I like the TVC version the most, which is why I linked to it.

8) Name: X VS Zero
Game: Mega Man X5
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_NRP3fLh1g
Notes: The craziest and most memorable moment of X5, and also just an all-around awesome song to fight to.

9) Name: Final Transmission
Game: Mega Man Battle Network 3
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKymeuwwtAk
Notes: A pretty cool song, and I figured since .EXE is part of the final smash, why not give him a song to show some representation?

10) Name: Mega Man 8 Opening (U.S. Version)
Game: Mega Man 8
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT4-QRSgxh4
Notes: I've always loved this song, and I think it would be great to hear it make a comeback.

NON-SERIOUS PICKS:

Ah, the long awaited Wily's castle round is finally upon us. Along with tracklists extended by 10, this is the best opportunity to cram in some of the most notable Mega Man tracks.

As such, I'd like to refer the judges to the * next to certain songs. I used this in the previous two rounds I participated in. It's to indicate that the particular song is remix plausible. Most Mega Man tracks still retain their chiptune format. We've already seen how the Mega Man 2 Medley and Spark Man have enhanced those soundtracks in modern rendition, so I'd like you guys to be open-minded with my indicated choices as well. Listen to some remixes of the same songs for how creative people can get when arranging them.

NOW LET'S GET STARTED!

1: Mega Man 2 Medley
Game of Origin:
Mega Man 2 (NES, 1988)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoXK0_lqvpg (Recreated *PARTIAL*) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WIjjtNZYjA, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOQhuuG1rfs, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJRoRt155mA&feature=kp (Original)
Notes: Confirmed track. A medley of some of the most iconic tracks from Mega Man 2. Transitions into each other well. Could be considered the default track.
2: Spark Man
Game of Origin:
Mega Man 3 (NES, 1990)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyDuNGqRBTw (Recreated *BAD QUALITY*) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdl0NPqaH4k (Original)
Notes: Confirmed track. A catchy and iconic Robot Master level theme. This was first heard in the Smash Bros. Direct.

3: Cut Man*
Game of Origin:
Mega Man (NES, 1987)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUb0d8T2A7Y
Notes: If there's any Robot Master synonymous with Mega Man 1, it's Cut Man. Considered by many to be the first Robot Master to fight out of Mega Man 1, the catchy, actiony beat of the tune will catch onto you. has been remixed in various Capcom games too, such as Street Fighter x Tekken. This is one theme that has their chances cut out for them.

4: Wood Man*
Game of Origin:
Mega Man 2 (NES, 1988)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWIAftUSyWw
Notes: If Mega Man 2 is considered to be the best out of the Classic series, then this iconic level theme sticks out through its age. Even Wood Man's Leaf Shield made the cut out of all 8 Robot Masters from 2 to be put into Mega Man's moveset. This song seems to be more low-pitched and steady, but remains one of those themes that enthralled me when playing. What sort of musical magic SSB4 could put into it would amplify its actiony rhythm.

5: Galaxy Man*
Game of Origin: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, XBLA, PSN, 2008)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdDbbzuq1vY
Notes: Ah, how Mega Man 9 takes the spirit of the NES games and refurbishes them to their full glory in the modern age. That doesn't falter with the music, as Galaxy Man's theme is one of the more popular, catchy tracks to come out of it. The atmospheric tones emulated through this song creates a stellar setting for Wily's Castle. Just imagine how more kickass this would be remixed!

6: Mega Man 3 Intro Theme*
Game of Origin:
Mega Man 3 (NES, 1990)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc9LSQOoXcU
Notes: Perhaps one of the most memorable and recognizable by ear tunes in all the Mega Man series. This action-packed chiptune fits its intro well. Also is a bit more emotional than most other Mega Man songs of its generation. Would be perfect for battle.

7: Wily Stage Entrance
Game of Origin:
Mega Man 7 (SNES, 1995)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AFyf-uykMY
Notes: Mega Man's foray into the 16-bit brings us this dramatic, iconic tune right at the stage that begin the approach to Dr. Wily. It builds epic tension leading up towards the endgame. Has great instrumental variance with its symphonic electronics and guitar riffs. Again, great for the Smash atmosphere, and of course Wily's Castle.

8: Central Highway
Game of Origin:
Mega Man X (SNES, 1993)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F2jf0NRl2Y
Notes: A fast-paced, exciting track that greets those who've played the very first Mega Man X right after you start the game. Captures the action-paced atmosphere of the game, which also translates well into Smash Bros. Gotta hand it to the greatest tutorial level of all time to bring us some memorable music, kehehe.

9: Blaze Heatnix
Game of Origin:
Mega Man X6 (PS1, 2001)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_px5qsDRg
Notes: Alright, this one doesn't appear on a Nintendo system. but you can say the same about half of Shadow Moses Island's tracklist too, MGS4 arrangement specially for Smash notwithstanding. This has to be one of the most intense Mega Man level themes I've ever listened too, all up to the memorable maverick, Blaze Heatnix. The metal guitars chugging in throughout the chorus, the ecstatic guitar riffs throughout, the dramatic and harsh whistle of the violins like something out of an action movie. The feel this song brings has to top the rest of the tracks on this list.

10: The Flutter vs. Gesellschaft
Game of Origin:
Mega Man Legends (N64, PS1, 1997)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v07PY14Zyw
Notes: This song adds a rather mellow, if ecstatic mood to Wily's Castle. The jazzy, symphonic tone of the song is one of the more iconic tracks out of the series. Remixed in several Capcom crossovers, such as serving as Tron Bonne's theme in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This one's gotta come over to Smash as well.

Glad I'm not the only one who appreciates Mega Man 8's English opening theme. :p It was hard to pick between it and the Japanese version, however.

There's a lot of Mega Man songs, man. I prefer MM8's English OP too, but I couldn't fit it in my list. :(

Maybe we should share our honourable mentions we couldn't fit in:

Wily Castle Stage 1/2 (Original) <Preconfirmed>
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 2 <NES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4VtxWRfPOk

Medley: Opening Stage/Title Screen (Mega Man 2)/Wily's Castle Stage 1/2 <Preconfirmed>
Origins: All-Mega Man Classic (All-Mega Man 2 <NES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WIjjtNZYjA (Opening Stage)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ucvmaajbcs (MM2 Title)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4VtxWRfPOk (Wily's Castle)

vs. Spark Man <Preconfirmed>
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 3 <NES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg5Q3WH4cmU

---------------------------------------

- vs. Cut Man (Remix)
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man <NES>; Video uses the version from Street Fighter X Tekken)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAblzmf2els
Strategically, this would/should probably be the first stage you go through in the entire franchise, so it's a no-brainer to include this.

- vs. Pharaoh Man (Remix)
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 4 <NES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isw3Bj_iYME
I don't know if Pharaoh Man is particularly popular in the games themselves, but he is pretty popular thanks to a certain meme regarding the cartoon. (Mega Man: NOW I'VE GOT YOUR POW-<Pharaoh Man punches Mega Man's lights out.>)

vs. Star Man
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 5 <NES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wX9BdLGUas
I would mix this with a pulpy, B movie sci-fi feel, like Flash Gordon or Original Star Trek. Plus, how could I not use the Robot Master with a similar name to not just a powerup from Mario, but also one of the most iconic enemies from EarthBound?

vs. Turbo Man
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 7 <SNES>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvqiomHgjC0
Remix it with a kind of F-Zero style, it would be for the best given the fast pace of this theme.

vs. Splash Woman (Remix)
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 9 <Wii>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H38v6Px8euk
Hands down the most popular/memorable Robot Master from 9, no doubt due to being the first female Robot Master after Roll.

Stage Select (Original)
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 10 <Wii>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbRQ4aOzYL8

End Titles (US Version) (Original)
Origins: Mega Man Classic (Mega Man 8 <PS1/Saturn <Original>; GC <First Nintendo release; re-release via Anniversary Collection>)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sZijF0_W8E

Yes, Yes, "But why only Classic series music when all the Mega Men show up?", but I feel that the other Mega Men are more of an extended cameo rather than a full-on part of the representation. That said, I also believe that if you make a stage off of Mega Man Classic, then the music should be from Classic, too.

Also, you probably won't notice care <:p> about this fact, but I tried my best to mimic the music structure of the original Mega Man in my selections: Title theme, stage select, stage intro, 6 Robot Master themes, Wily's Castle, credits. I know there won't be any bonuses for originality/creativity on the music selection, but I felt this was the best way to do this round.

Wily Castle? FINALLY.

Using the power of Mask Man (Gear Spinner), I hereby create my track list!

Here's to Mega Man folks.

-Wily Castle-

1. Mega Man 2 Medley

Game of Origin: Mega Man 2 (NES, 1989)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjD9atkEo70

A previously confirmed track, this epic medley combines the opening stage, title intro, and Wily Castle 1 and 2 from Mega Man 2. It’s full of energy, spirit, and epic retro goodness. A very pleasing song to have for this stage.

2. Spark Man Theme (Arrangement)

Game of Origin: Mega Man 3 (NES, 1990)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eZ0sFxyhjs

Another classic, this time hailing from Mega Man 3. It may be updated, but this quirky and upbeat tune still retains all its original charm. First heard in the Smash Bros. Direct.

3. Cutman Theme (Arrangement)

Game of Origin: Mega Man (NES, 1988)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUb0d8T2A7Y

Considered by some to be the ‘first’ Robot Master to face in the first Mega Man, Cutman’s theme has a peppy and quick feel to it. I linked the classic, but for the arrangement, a mixture of spanish acoustic and rhythm would accompany the original chiptune. In essence, Cutman’s theme would sound like the original with a little Dark Pit’s theme thrown in.

4. Skull Man Theme (Arrangement)

Game of Origin: Mega Man 4 (NES, 1992)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZl4wMMf11w

Another iconic track from another great game. Skull Man’s theme has a more intense mechanical feel to it, making it perfect for Wily’s Castle. The newer arrangement would also highlight the ‘creepy’ feel to it. Plus, you know, there’s a giant skull on Wily’s Castle… yeah.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m going to pick only one song from each game. The Mega Man series just has too many great songs spread out over its many years.

5. Napalm Man Theme (Arrangement)

Game of Origin: Mega Man 5 (NES, 1992)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlRYotLIbtk

Coming from a popular and controversial stage, Napalm Man’s theme adds a heroic twist to the Wily Castle lineup. The new and improved arrangement would also play on the pace and feel, like the previously mentioned Robot Master Remixes.

6. Flutter Vs. The Gesellschaft

Game of Origin: Mega Man Legends (PS, 1997)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v07PY14Zyw

A more relaxing and jazzy change of pace. The song is left just as is.

7. Whistle Concert (Arrangement)

Game of Origin: Mega Man 3 (NES, 1990)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d30OSJkt7Dc&feature=kp

Ok, I lied when I said I was just going to have one song from each game. I just couldn’t pass this song up. Protoman is an iconic and favorite from the Mega Man series. It’s packed with emotion, and a new Arrangement for SSB4 would add to the feel… the feeling of days gone by. Appropriate for the Mega Man series, eh? :ohwell:

8. Zero’s Theme

Game of Origin: Mega Man X2 (SNES, 1995)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd984aQDWhQ

MVC3 Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp3m3xS6qDA

The fight theme from Mega Man 2X captures what makes any good boss fight good. Intense, inspiring music. Given Kenji Inafune’s influence with Zero, and Zero’s relation to Dr. Wily, this theme would fit perfectly for the stage.

9. Central Highway

Game of Origin: Mega Man X (SNES, 1993)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F2jf0NRl2Y

Maverick Hunter Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNsVOdQmp-c

The song of the first stage for Mega Man X, the next generation of Mega Man. Given it’s popularity and catchy beat, this is a no-brainer for SSB4.

10. Mega Man Legacy Medley

Games of Origin: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, 2008), Mega Man 10 (WiiWare, 2010), Mega Man X (SNES, 1993), Mega Man Legends (PS, 1997), Mega Man Battle Network (GBA, 2001) Mega Man Battle Network 3 (GBA, 2002), Mega Man Starforce (NDS, 2008)

Mega Man 9 Opening - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmEBYdgCC90

Mega Man 10 Opening - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61yooQGe5Cs

Mega Man X Boss Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOMejLm0EfA

Mega Man Legends: Main Gate - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsxak3v8XR8

Mega Man Battle Network Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZocM0ZCnH5Q

Mega Man Starforce Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AgtAl4QYsw

Mega Man Battle Network 3: Farewell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boG50lHq0qg

Mega Man 10 Credits Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCHwi1Q-oAM

By Inafune, that’s a huge medley! Seeing as this is one of Mega Man’s most triumphant returns to gaming since Mega Man 9, I’d say we’re long overdue for a an epic and emotional medley representing all the forms of Mega Man and celebrating 27 years of the Blue Bomber.

Starting out the list slowly, the entirety of the Mega Man 9 Opening plays. Transitioning to a more exciting song, Mega Man 10’s opening theme plays, also in it’s entirety. Keeping with the pace, Mega Man X’s boss theme plays from it’s start for one loop and a half. After this, a slightly quicker, and slightly techno version of Main Gate plays. A techo transition leads to the Mega Man Battle Network theme. The tempo here slows, and an electric piano arrangement of the Mega Man Starforce theme plays. Note the transition to a more emotional side as the piano joins more techno sounds for the ending theme of Mega Man Battle Network 3. Finally, when the medley seems to slow to an end, the credits of Mega Man 10 play, giving a hopeful and exciting side to finish it all off.

While the Legacy medley may not be a 100% perfect fit for a action-packed stage such as Wily Castle, I’m willing to lose a few points for it. It embodies the excitement, the action, and emotion of the series. Many Mega Man fans think the best days of the series are behind it, hence the slower parts, but the ending comes full circle, giving a hopeful feel. Mega Man in SSB4 is truly a light in a dark time for the Mega Man series, so I picked the songs that hold personal memories for the medley.

Here’s hoping to place!

I've changed my entry a bit to embellish on one song, and fix some others.

Wait, now i'm confused, isn't the original Wily's Castle 1/2 from MM2 also in as a separate track from the medley like --- said? Pretty sure that's what I heard in that first developer direct with Villager, Mega Man and WFT.
The Stage Intro theme, Opening, and Wily's Castle 1-2 are all heard together in one of the Mega Man Smash Run videos on YouTube (Gamexplain, I think.) That should clarify two track confirmation unless I missed something.

No, I mean in that verrrrry first dev direct (The bottommost right vid on the movie list page of the Smash 4 site) has a section on Mega Man that plays the original NES version separately from the medley. You can tell the difference because the added instruments on the Wily's Castle part of the medley aren't there.

Here's the vid in question (at 3:52)

Oh. Seems as if most people have avoided that track all together. I'm not going to be happy if I have to sacrifice one song for another confirmed.

It's the judges call anyways.

Darn, I'd hate to have to cut a song to include the original Wily Castle 2....

I think listing the song once conveys the message it's in the game, remixed or original. It is the same, iconic song we know and love regardless of the form it's heard in. So is there a need to sacrifice a song in order to list a song we already know is in game?

But that's just my opinion. :p

Alright! Here we go...wait, that's not right, get equipped with: D-idara's List.

Name: Intro + Wily's Castle
Origin: Megaman 2 (NES, 1988)
Universe: Megaman
Intro
Wily's Castle

Although I don't agree with not letting the songs shine on their own, this upbeat guitar combo does pack a huge punch and the two songs actually mix well with each other, as heard from the E3 footage. Of course this version skips the long Intro sequence with the calming music and goes straight to the Title Screen, which feels fitting for a fighting stage, since all the buildup would make it a little underwhelming.

Name: Wily's Castle
Origin: Megaman 2 (NES, 1988)
Universe: Megaman
The original tune also appears on the game, and god does it have a presence, from the moment it starts, the tune's packed with heroic flair and an epic, uplifting melody that fits the final level very well, I can't say much more about this song, other than it being one of the greatest tunes of videogame history, IT'S THAT GOOD. Also, it's one of the few songs that I think no matter how they do it, the remixes and remakes will never capture the original perfectly, there's something about the way they used the 8-Bit sound that makes it truly timeless.

Name: Spark Man
Origin: Megaman 3 (NES, 1990)
Universe: Megaman
This song's confirmed to be on the game from the Direct, and IT SOUNDS REALLY AWESOME, the remix that's heard on the Direct takes out the not-so-awesome parts and replaces them with badass guitar riffs, the faster tempo also makes the song sound much peppier and much more like a battle song, especially a Megaman battle song, also notable for being one of the few good songs from MM3 (At least IMO).

Name: Storm Eagle
Origin: Megaman X (SNES, 1993)
Universe: Megaman X
I think Storm Eagle means to Megaman X what Wily's Castle means to Classic Megaman, the theme that pretty much defines the series and the entire character, whenever I see X, I instantly think of those AWESOME opening guitar riffs and that weird violin-esque main melody. Not to mention, the theme pumps you up for a fight so much, almost doesn't seem like a level theme, much less for an airport, considering most airports have pleasant, cute music when it comes to videogames!

Name: Flutter Vs. The Gesselschaft (Megaman Volnutt's Theme)
Origin: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (Wii, 2010)
Universe: Megaman Legends
I particularily like this theme from the Megaman Legends series, although the first exposure I had was the Japanese version of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and that awesome fighting game has the best version of this tune I've heard, so full of energy yet still carries the cheerful charm of the ML music and world, although it might seem a little too cheerful for the location, it does have some really epic-sounding sections that fit the atmosphere of the castle well.

Name: New Age Robot Masters (Megaman 9 Medley)
Origin: Megaman 9 (Wii, 2008)
Universe: Megaman
Hornet Man's Stage 0:00 - 0:44
Galaxy Man's Stage 0:00 - 0:44
Concrete Man's Stage 0:08 - 0:43
Jewel Man's Stage 0:00 - 0:32
Tornado Man's Stage 0:00 - 0:48
Splash Woman's Stage 0:00 - 0:50
Megaman 9 has such amazing music that it was really hard to pick one or two songs from the game, so I picked six and made them a marvelous medley! Although this medley has something special, the song that starts out will always be picked at random, so all of them will get equal chance to shine! :D

Name: Proto Man's Fortress
Origin: Megaman 5 (NES, 1993)
Universe: Megaman
This theme represents Proto Man very well, much better than his theme from MM3, I think. It's got that familiar Final Level feeling with a touch of sadness that makes the song perfect for a stage like Wily's Castle, and for the moment on the actual game (Although MM5 was a little lame gameplay-wise). I think everything not called 1, 2, 3 or 9 deserves some recognition from time to time, except 8...that one's just wretched and evil!

Name: Cut Man's Stage
Origin: Megaman (NES, 1987)
Universe: Megaman
KUNG FU CUTMAN! One of the most memorable themes from the original Megaman...I feel like this one should be arranged with a similar feeling to Gerudo Valley, with Spanish guitar and strong percussion...I dunno, seems fitting for this villain, especially because the 8-Bit melody already sounds Spanish-esque. I don't have much more to add to this description! KUNG FU CUTMAN!

Name: Dark The Moon
Origin: Megaman Battle & Chase (Playstation 1, 1997)
Universe: Megaman
You know what this stage needs? Oriental music! Yeah...why not!? I always complained and ******* endlessly about Shadow Man's Theme barely sounding oriental on MM3, but this theme seems outright...****ING AWESOME! Especially for a racing game with Megaman characters! This counts as one of my oddball picks...and here comes the next challenger!

Name: Boss Fight
Origin: Megaman Vs. Street Fighter (PC, 2012)
Universe: Megaman/Street Fighter
Come on! Don't tell you don't love this! A song from the most recent game on the Megaman series...I mean, the game's a spit on the face to the actual Megaman franchise, but you can tell the composer put a lot of effort on remixing classic SF tunes with the Megaman music style! This counts as the ultimate oddball pick for this stage!

There's the list! Do you like it?

Guess I'll post my Honorable Mentions, as well.

Electrical Communication (Mega Man 8) - This one almost made it, but there's no real instrumental version.
Snake Man (Mega Man 3)
Magnet Man (Mega Man 3)
Central Highway (Mega Man X)
Storm Eagle (Mega Man X)
Marvel vs. Capcom Medley (MVC1) (MVC2) (MVC3). I figured that this particular medley might not fly well with the judges. :p
Staff Credits (Mega Man Legends) - Again, not an instrumental, which is why I scrapped it.
Theodore Bruno (Mega Man Legends)
X vs. Zero (Mega Man X5) - I didn't include this one because X5 wasn't originally released on a Nintendo system. I felt since Zero's Theme from X2 did originate from a Nintendo system, it worked better.

Wait a second, we can exclude Wily's Castle (Original) from the song-count?

NOTE that I'm not too familiar with the games, so some of these reasonings won't be detailed. Sorry...

[collapse=Here is my list.]

1. Name: Dr. Wily's Castle
Universe: Mega Man
Game: Mega Man 2 (NES, 1989)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJRoRt155mA

Reason: I believe it's confirmed thanks to the Developer Direct.

2. Name: Spark Man
Universe: Mega Man
Game: Mega Man 3 (NES, 1990)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP-Yjn1E05M

Reason: Was in the Smash Direct, so mostly confirmed.

3. Name: Mega Man 2 Medley
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 2 (NES, 1989)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjD9atkEo70

Reason: Confirmed and FABULOUS!

4. Name: Cut Man
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man (NES, 1987)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAeIMQierX4

Reason: Is essentially the Level 1 theme of the Mega Man franchise, in my opinion. This was also the theme chosen for Street Fighter X Tekken's version of Mega Man.

5. Name: Japan Special Stage
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man: Powered Up! (PSP, 2006)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNpwEYzEnAs

Reason: It sounded cool and it reps one of the more recent versions of the classic Mega Man series.

6. Name: Dr. Cossack's Lab 2
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 4 (NES, 1992)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAeIMQierX4

Reason: Dr. Cossack is essentially the Wily's Castle of the game... until you discover that Wily was the mastermind behind the whole scheme.

7. Name: Slash Man
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 7 (SNES, 1995)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfDZmdtrZ68

Reason: It's very catchy...

8. Name: Tornado Man
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, 2008)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTvjc12new0

Reason: Heard in the Mega Man 9 trailer and advertised as the main theme.

9. Name: Retraux Revival (a medley)
Universe: Mega Man
This is a medley of the following tracks:

Title Theme
Game of Origin: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, 2008)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUHfjfydbYw

Nitro Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 10 (WiiWare, 2010)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fM47jrOUgs

Reason: The latter theme was featured in the Mega Man 10 trailer and advertised as the main theme. The former cameoed in the Mega Man 9 trailer. These songs are both uplifting and in my opinion, represent the grand return of the Mega Man 8bit style. They also fit together pretty well.

10. Goes With Everything
Universe: Mega Man/Street Fighter
Game of Origin (original): Street Fighter 2 (SNES, 1992)
Link (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBR2x1v-5s4
Game of Origin (this rendition): Street Fighter X Mega Man (PC, 2012)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqy1DBG52dk

Reason: It goes with everything! :p

Seriously, this iconic Street Fighter song is not only extremely popular, but also made its way into the Mega Man universe, so it counts as a track of that series as well. Also, with Mega Man having a move derived from the greater Capcom universe, it wouldn't surprise me to have this track sneak its way in as an unlockable bonus for Wily's Castle.

Honorable Mentions:

11. The Moon
Universe: DuckTales (woo-ooh!)
Game of Origin: DuckTales Remastered (Wii U, 2013)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMOwW7rO8fM

12. Pursuit ~ Cornered!
Universe: Ace Attorney
Game of Origin: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS, 2005)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RiBCgFwxXI

[/collapse]

Fire Emblem Melee was in the trailer this morning. Does that confirm in for the Wii U FE stage?

Sorry my list is late, I was on vacation. Here it is:
1. Mega man 2 theme/Wily's castle
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 2
Already confirmed. I'm not sure if its really combined or not but some people have said it is so I'll just put it as one song.
2. Spark Man theme
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 3
Already confirmed. Really catchy, and much more so thanks to the new smash version. Here is the original for reference.
3. Galaxy Man theme
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 9
Good to have a few robot master themes, and this one also helps represent the new Mega Man games, 9 and 10
4. Cut Man theme
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man
It's nice to have a robot master theme based on the original, and Cut Man's is probably the best.
5. Wily's castle theme
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 3
What better fits a Wily castle stage than a Wily castle theme? Nothing that's what. This song is just as good as MM2's Wily castle theme IMO.
6. Central Highway
Universe: Megaman X Series
Game of Origin: Megaman X
The opening stage to Megaman X. Great song for a great game.
7. Sigma Stage 2
Universe: Megaman X Series
Game of Origin: Megaman X
One of the two themes for Sigma's stage, which is sort of the equivalent of Wily's castle.
8. X vs Zero
Universe: Megaman X Series
Game of Origin: Megaman X5
An amazing song for one of the most epic battles in Mega Man history.
9. Zero's theme
Universe: Megaman Zero Series
Game of Origin: Megaman Zero
The theme of one of the most important characters in the Mega Man series.
10. Proto Man's Fortress
Universe: Mega Man
Game of Origin: Mega Man 5
The theme of Proto man's fortress from Mega Man 5 that is pretty much the Wily's castle of Mega Man 5 that also represents Proto Man.
Good luck to all of the participants!

Luckily, the judges have fallen into hype comas and have not closed submissions yet... So you made it! :)

Might need to visit Hypeaholics Anonymous. It helped me! :chuckle:
I never could get through those things. The first is admitting you have a problem. But I don't think hype is a problem. :troll:

Hey, since they said it would take awhile, I have something almost cool to show you.
My top 100 Nintendo music! It actually was pretty easy to make, since I listen to Nintendo music almost every day as background sound, all I have to do is add one to the list if I like it and bump the one at the bottom off of the list. I would enjoy seeing other people's top 100 (or 10, 50, 1000... practically anything) list. It doesn't even have to be pure nintendo.
