Official Smash 4 Backroom Member Application

The Smash 4 Backroom (4BR) was launched late last year, primarily tasked with creating the first official tier list for Smash Bros. for WiiU/3DS. We invited many knowledgeable and top players to be the inaugural members and several other individuals to participate. The Smash 4 Backroom is dedicated to providing a place for intelligent discussions on the metagame, community and event organization, and aims to contribute relevant Smash-meta content for the benefit of discourse and game advancement. It has been a long-standing tradition of the Backrooms thus far to give new members the opportunity to join through application.

We are looking for those with the following qualities:

• Those experienced with and have a passion for competitive Smash.
• Contributors to their scene and the wider community.
• Unique perspectives/insights and valuable knowledge of the game.
• Ability to stay respectful and productive in discussions.

Although there is a tendency to seek high/top level players, any heavily involved individuals, from analysts to tournament organizers, are also sought after.

If you believe you have these qualities and wish to become a member, then apply by sending a PM to shrooby with information about yourself. Some of the following may be relevant to include:

• How you are involved with the Smash community.
• Your experience with competitive Smash. (How long you have competed, where, etc.)
• Other passions or experiences which help shape your views of Smash. (Such as other game communities, your studies, profession, etc.)
• Without looking it up, your first impression of “the Great Emu War.”
• What you think you will contribute to the 4BR. (In general or in a particular area)
• What you envisage of the 4BR.
