Stage Selection Format:
For the first match, players will use the stage strike method to select the first stage. The player closest to the first player slot will strike out one of the neutral stages then the 2nd player will strike out another stage. The last remaining stage will be the stage they will play on.

After the first match, each player/team may ban any of the neutral or counterpick stages. The loser of the previous match may counterpick any stage that has not been banned, as long as that player has not last won on that stage. The winner of the previous match may change their character then the loser of the previous match may change their character.

Character Selection:
You may double blind for the first match of any set. Tell a tournament staff that you would like to double blind, and both players tell them which character they are using. Both players must pick that character for the first match.

When you lose your first match, you must first declare which stage you are going to, then the winning player may choose to change or stay with their character then the losing player may change their character.

If counterpicking Pokemon Trainer or Sheik, you must inform the player which character/Pokemon you are going to select before they select their character. For example, you cannot select Pokemon Trainer, then they choose Pikachu, then you choose Charizard. You must say which Pokemon you will start with before they choose their character.

Match ends due to “Time”:
In case where the match goes to time, the winner will be based on who has more stocks, then who has less percentage damage. In case of a tie in both stocks and damage, players will do a 1 stock 3 minute match to decide the winner of the match.

Hacked Wiis:
We will permit hacked Wiis to be used during the tournament. Texture hacks and music hacks may be disabled on player request for the duration of a set. For hacked Wiis, there should be absolutely no gameplay modifications (ie no tripping, hitbox modifications).

Rules:
• Excessive amounts of stalling is forbidden.
• Avoid accidental pausing during a match. Doing so may result in a loss of stock, based on TO discretion. Repeated offense may result in the loss of the game or set. If a pause must occur due to things such as controller malfunction, please ask the opponent to pause the game.
• For doubles play, stock sharing is allowed.
• Team Attack must be on.
• Please BYOC. TOs may not carry any additional controllers during the tournament.
• If a player wants to use the same controller port, do paper, rock, scissors to decide who get that port. During counterpicking, the player who lost the previous game may elect to switch controller ports.
• Please refrain from doing any major coaching to a player during a game. Cheering for a person, or giving some advice between games are permitted.
• Friendlies and money matches played during tournament are done so AT YOUR OWN RISK. If a tournament match is to be scheduled and there are no other TVs available, your friendly or money match will be asked to end immediately. Failure to comply may result in disqualification from the tournament; in addition, we'll still force you off the TV. Also, recording setups are TOURNAMENT PRIORITY, so playing on those during tournament will almost guarantee your friendly or MM will get interrupted.
• To keep the tournament running smoothly, please arrive on time. You may call one of the TO's prior to the beginning of the event if you are running a little late, to which you will be seeded accordingly. If you do not arrive before registration ends, you will be unable to register for any events already in progress. If you registered via calling or texting a TO and do not arrive within 5 minutes of your match being called (we will attempt to call any other possible matches first), the entire match will be counted as a forfeit. Similarly, if you do not arrive within 5 minutes of your pool starting, you will be dropped from the pool and automatically be placed in the lower bracket.
• If you need to leave for a few minutes, please notify a TO so you won't miss any of your matches. If your matches are called and you are not present within a timely matter without notification, it will result into an automatic forfeit of your match.
• Please follow all of Gemini Arcade Palace house rules.
