So currently I see no point in Amiibo. I mean why not just play a level 9 cpu? And the functionality in other gmaes is just dumb. I may eventually get one just to try it. But could someone explain what all the hype about them is.

I agree. To me it just seems like Nintendo is quick to cash in on the Skylanders craze. They seem pointless to me too, other than having the physical figure. However, I still do support them though, because we will be getting figures for characters that otherwise probably wouldn't get a figure.
