No but I really plan to cut back on how often I'll search for Sheik videos, maybe limit it to once every 3-7 day like I do for deviantART. Of course I will still upload any submissions here, tournaments that I'm aware of and any other Sheik footage I happen to trip over.

EDIT: Success! It seems not only does the spoiler tags have to be the same color, front and size as the rest of the text but they also can't be in bold, if you do have them bold they make a swarm of tags.

So happy I figure that out, now my thread wont look like **** anymore.

EDIT2: My hubris was too great, spoiler tags are really glitchy! I'm going to settle on just two and never touch them in hopes they will remain dormant and not multiple to cover the entire page....again.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with making new threads as long as they don't serve a redundant purpose or can't go in an existing thread.

Individual members asking for feedback on their videos should have their own thread, so should like. I dunno. other stuff.

Blue-Ray's Sheik against Edge's Diddy is some really nice stuff. His movement is so fancy lol. I really enjoy that. I also noticed nothing with the grenade yet so I'm guessing even the Japanese haven't found too much of a use for it yet.

Why not make this thread dual purpose? Heaven forbid there be some activity in here. I'm willing to change the title to reflect who we are discussing and this also give people...well mainly me a place to say how cool a certain part is of a random match is without multi posting.

that's fine. I don't care. I just thought it would be nice if everyone could have their own little place to gather thoughts on themselves instead of having to search it out but i don't care either way.

Also FWIW @ Tristan_win Tristan_win , Double posting isn't that big of an issue as long as there's substance or a reason for double posting.

Cool. I added them to the 'Other stuff' due to how short the clip were and the lack of percentages... Just a heads up though that wasn't a zero to death on Shulk as he could of easily avoided the utilt.

He's also doing what I KNEW what was going to happen. He has install fear into his opponents =] . Much like how people would learn to respect and fear the dacus in brawl he's doing it with the bouncing fish and mind gaming people into air dodge only to punish them.

He also at one point did a BF into a nair because they air dodge, just amazing.

Yup. The ever-looming BF makes Sheik scary as ****.

Needles. Gravity nade. Bouncing Fish. Crazy setups/combos/pressure in melee range.

People can't feasibly feel safe from Sheik close or far.

there should be some sheik vids by yours truly if they can get ripped from the vegas weekly. I've been putting in work and developing some footsie game and implementing techniques that people dont use to often like shino stalling and other things .


@ Tristan_win Tristan_win is feeling so good maining ss tier char when sheik in brawl was c tier lol.

It was a zero to death string. He went from zero to death. He could have avoided it had he tech'd but he didn't. It was obviously not a zero to death combo.

Online for Glory matches. Still working the kinks out of my game. Between the lag and my old bad habits I am way to spammy now. Once I refine that down some more I should be sitting a lot nicer. That and I am still working on learning what all combos and trying to react to a combo opportunities asap. aka... BF spam. What do you guys think?

I don't know how to tag people so if someone could tell me that would be great lol.

Anyway question for False in those recent tournament videos I was wondering why when you use BF you never use the second kick to cancel end lag. I understand why you don't do it sometimes but other times it looked like if you used the second kick you would have been safer. There is the very real possibility I'm missing something which is why I ask. Also congrats on the win

I'm looking to upload 5-10 friendly matches this weekend I'll link them here in an edit if I get around to it. They'll mostly be against my training partner Mattopia. But I might upload some random for glory matches too so I can get some critiques. friend also is looking to pick up some sheik so if he does I'll probably play purin and upload those as well. We'll see how it goes

So I have been practicing with Sheik for about a week and wanted to know if someone could help me getting better with her.
I have little to no knowledge of competitive Smash but I would like to at least get decent with the character.

Which videos? I had not discovered cancelling the lag until 1-2 weeks ago, lolol.

Got 3rd at the first smash3DS tournament in france, using mainly sheik. Decent placing but bad gameplay, but it got the job done, kinda. I'll post the youtube links in the video thread when the videos are uploaded.

That looks an aweful lot like I would play. Those Vanish uses on your first stock were amazing.
Anyway, the Sheik player seems to switch between garbage and godlike. He does some nice stuff, and then again uses some pretty silly and useless moves. Awful rolls and dashattacks, and sooo hungry for the kill. The player probably suffered alot from FG lag.

Anyways, can we get the Video with % (if its older probably not, cause 1.0.4...). And could you maybe give us the Sheik players name (And please tell me its not a japanese player with the name ちょお or something similar. that would be me then.)

Good stuff man. You got some really good strings and a nice read on the bouncing fish. I'll have to try air needles to bf now and see what percents it works on. I do think you should walk more since sheik is one of the fastest walkers in the game and you have way more options in a walking stance rather than running. I didnt see you use vanish at all, but if you're good at getting those reads in it makes for a nasty counter and kill move.

All in all, good stuff. And the circle pad sucks.

I saw this video yesterday and enjoyed the player's Sheik. It's worth a watch. By the description in the video (Nov 22), the battle happened after patch 1.0.4. You can start the video at 1:10 to skip the fluff.

Also, I don't think Sheik meant to do what he did at the end... =/


1:20 Short-hop Fair, F-Tilt, then Two short-hop fairs in a row
1:40 Bthrow to Bouncing Fish
1:45 Lucario grabs the ledge. Sheik grabs the edge and Bairs as Lucario is knocked off.
1:55 - 2:10 Needle Pressure
2:13 Predicts opponent's air dodge and uses Fair (Or maybe he didn't know the air dodge was coming. Lucky outcome?)
2:42 Does the same thing in 1:45
4:05 Nair to Bouncing Fish. More like a Falling Nair to Bouncing Fish.
4:44 I wanna highlight Lucario here... He almost defeated 51% Sheik on stage with that Fsmash O.O When Sheik was still flying away, Sheik gained 1% dmg and then another 1% also. Maybe Lucario carries a trait in his Fmash?
4:51 Sheik uses Bthrow and then uses Vanish in the air. Lucario actually airdodged after getting thrown. He probably thought Sheik was going to use an Aerial move, but nope. Vanish in the face. :)
6:09 Usmash after Lucario rolls from the ledge. May not seem much of a highlight, but Sheik took advantage of Lucario's get-back-on-stage-option. When Lucario rolled back on stage going to the left of Sheik, Sheik runs and uses USmash before he could do anything.
9:02 Bair then Bouncing Fish. Lucario could've avoided if he let himself drop more.
9:40 Does the same as 4:05. Nice...
10:15 - 10:19 NICE Fairs!
13:02 Fthrow to Uair
13:13 Fair three times then Bouncing Fish
14:55 A mixture of Wall cling, Jump, and Surprise Vanish to the face?

Had an offline session with my friend today, he only uses heavier strong characters like DDD and DK. I am never able to beat him. managed to get one match recorded. I think I am a bit too...mindless? Just wondered on some thoughts, in case there is something I am missing which will help me out.
