Introduction

Alright with a Square Enix representative absent, one can assume we could see one as DLC in the future. If this were to happen we would most likely see a representative from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts or Dragon Quest. However the tables have turned, the underdogs now have a chance. The Smash Ballot is the saviour for characters like Adam Jensen. Whom have awesome personalities and strong moveset potential.

So who is Adam Jensen? Well let’s just say, he might be considered the main protagonist of the Deus Ex series, more so with the current/past-gen games of the series. The original PC games had different ones. But with the recently announced Deus Ex trailer, it’s kind of looking like Adam Jensen will be the re-occurring protagonist.

So what is the story behind Adam Jensen, what makes him unique? Adam Jensen is an employee for Sarif Industries. His job is a bit all over the place, but he is labelled ‘Head of Security’ for Sarif Industries. He infiltrates, spies and is at times a hitman for Sarif. Although (from what I remember) the main aim of this approach was to investigate some explosions at Sarif’s HQ.

So now onto what makes him unique. Adam is kind of like a Cyborg. After the explosion (mentioned before) at the start of Human Revolution, his boss placed robotic augmentations, giving Adam special abilities such as being able to analyse social conversations, punch through walls and go invisible.


So has he made an appearance on Nintendo consoles? Yes, although, I might be wrong on this, his game didn’t sell well. Basically he appeared in a game that was originally designed for the Wii U, called ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut’. This game was basically a HD remastered version of ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’. However due to lack of sales of the Wii U (we can’t deny that it’s selling as well as Playstation 4), the game was ported to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. As for the upcoming Deus Ex game (Also known as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided), there has been no word of a Wii U release date. However there was a Deus Ex game announced a while back called Deus Ex: Universe, and that might be Square’s second attempt to have success on the Wii U. In summary Deus Ex is the only game by Square Enix to get a worldwide release on the Wii U. Yes Dragon Quest X was on Wii U however it was only released in Japan.

Up-Special: Jensen uses his prophetic leg to jump high, and then drops a grenade (similar to Samus) which explodes when coming into contact with enemies.

Smash Attacks

Up-Smash: Blades from his arm appear swiping upwards

Side-Smash: Blade appears from his right arm, which he then punches with this right hand

Down-Smash: Swipes downwards with the blade on his arm


Tilt

Neutral: Punches an enemy

Neutral-Combo: Multiple punches finished off with an elbow (with the blade sticking out)

Dash Attack: Whilst Jensen is running his blade comes out facing his hand, and he does quick slash with it.

Down-Tilt: Rotates 360 degrees with a kick near the ankles

Up-Tilt: An upper-cut

Side-Tilt: A slower but more powerful punch than Neutral

Grab

Grab Animation (before pressing anything): Adam comes from behind and holds them by the neck (like 3:09 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPNK74J24KE)

Neutral-Grab: Punches

Forward-Grab: Kicks enemy in the back making them move forward.

Back-Grab: Hand transforms into weird hook thing, and begins to rotate whilst holding enemies head. The enemy is then swung in the opposite direction they were facing

Up-Grab: Flings enemy up, raises fist and blade comes out. Sending enemy flying.

Down-Grab: After the grab Adam pulls the foes down, and furthermore the blades stick out of the elbows, and he elbows the guy to the ground


Aerial

Neutral-Aerial: Does a punch

Up-Aerial: Blades comes out of each arm (facing his hand). Which then face North (opposite to Links Down-Aerial)

Down-Aerial: On blade comes out of one of his arms (facing the hand), and swipes below Adam (A bit like Marth’s Down-Aerial).

Forward-Aerial: Adam’s blade comes out from his elbow, and he elbows to the side.

Back-Aerial: Adam still facing forward, unleashes his blades from his elbow, and thrusts them backwards

Final Smash:

Basically after Adam destroys the Smash-ball a gush of water hits the bottom platform, Adam then drops an electrical appliance, making the platform deadly and enemies vulnerable to being electrocuted. Adam is immune, as if I remember correctly, one of his augmentations made him immune.

Are you kidding me? There is no chance that this character will ever be in Smash. Excluding the fact that he is almost completely unrelated to Nintendo, he's a purely western character that's completely unknown in Japan, and his design is not the least bit iconic (he looks like he could be from any sci-fi game made in the last ten years). If Smash Bros. were to get a Square-Enix rep it would certainly not be him, it would obviously be a character from their biggest franchise that has history with Nintendo, Final Fantasy.

TL;DR: A 3rd Party character who has been in 1 game and its rereleases that did nothing to revolutionize or really change the genre it's from in a 3rd Party company with dozens of fighters with more star power and Nintendo history. 0/10
