Here is why:
1. Twilight Link: To still think Skyward Zelda will be in the game after the Twilight Link has already been confirmed is just ridiculously asinine. It's inconsistent and there is a reason Twilight versions will be playable which I have mentioned several times in the past. If you have Skyward Zelda (someone who is drastically different from the current SSB version.) Why on earth would you not have Skyward Link? Someone who would not require any change at all? Logic?
2. Twilight Characters and their design represent more of the series where as Skyward Sword versions represent only Skyward Sword. Even though they are no the same person, Wind Waker Link's design represents both Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. The design from Twilight Princess represents the N64 titles as well as Twilight Princess. They are considered the main design of the series.
EX: The Link from NES is not the same as LTTP, OOS/OOA/, or Awakening. Yet the DESIGN clearly is, and thus it represents more of the Zelda series than Skyward Sword which represents 1 game specifically.
3. Sheik: I can't really imagine Skyward Zelda transforming into Sheik. It doesn't really make much sense. She isn't really the type of girl who transforms into a Ninja woman. Of course Sheik was not in Twilight princess, but it made sense for that version of Zelda to transform into Sheik.
4. This design of Zelda may be adored by many, but is not as popular as Twilight Princess.
I seriously thought people knew this, or at least considered it.
I lose hope here when people add or remove characters SOLELY because of recent appearance.
I love it when you don't ever elaborate until someone asks you to. It's really helpful.
Or, instead of following this rule that he has to be in his Awakened Forme, we could just implement him as normal so that genwunners and Melee fans alike will appreciate his appearance. Awakened Forme can be an alternate form or at the very least a final smash so X&Y representation is still there.
Is being the most recent console Zelda game at the time not enough reason? That's how OoT Link got into SSB64 and Melee and how Twilight Princess Link got into Brawl.
Of course, if Zelda U is the same art-style as Link is in SSB4, it'd be easy to see the support of Skyward Zelda immediately shifting over to the new Zelda.
Here we go again with "It was the last game that came out!" That's NOT the only reason why we had the Twilight design. And in case you didn't see the trailer for the new Super Smash Bros. Game, Twilight Link is STILL in it. You think they wouldn't use the recent Link, the one that doesn't have to be changed drastically to put in, but they WOULD with someone who does have to be changed drastically to put in?
Putting a character in for the sole reason of being the last game doesn't ALWAYS work. Maybe for less popular titles or to add a different character that people want more or is the new protagonist of the series as a whole. EX: Matthew is from a not so popular series and is now the new protagonist of that series. Mother doesn't have a main protagonist of the series and thus Lucas was considered to replace Ness. Poke'mon just keeps getting bigger and bigger so it makes sense to give each generation a turn (with the exception of Gen 1).
I'm trying to comprehend that people think Skyward Zelda will be playable after the confirmation of Twilight Link. Really???
As for Jigglypuff, my assumption is that I wouldn't have to explain something so obvious. But, surprisingly I do.
1. Jigglypuff's enormous popularity and fans. She is a fan favorite like Meowth, Pikachu, and Mewtwo.
2. Jigglypuff's popularity in the original Poke'mon anime.
3. Jigglpuff is one of the most famous Poke'mon ever.
4. That is how Poke'mon are decided. And she is still popular today. Don't believe me?:

How do you think she got IN Super Smash Bros. in the first place?
And awakened Mewtwo. Wouldn't getting the smash ball once and transforming into Newtwo make you NOT want to get the smash ball again? He's suppose to be more powerful. If you could change into Giga Bowser and stay that way wouldn't you ALWAYS want to be Giga Bowser. There is a thing in game theory: It says if you are given an ultimate method of disposing of obstacles, you're ALWAYS going to use it. So transforming into Newtwo is entirely pointless. It would make more sense just to start out with him.
