After Watching a lot of Pac-Men at Apex, I noticed that they would empty jump and Z-drop their fruits to create a wall, So I started thinking why haven't we been doing this with robin that gives us so many more options!
So long story short after going into the Lab I found out that when you Z-drop Robin's Tomes and Swords they have the EXACT (and if not very close to the) same Fall speed as robin, Well what does that mean? it means you can Z-Drop your Item out of an empty jump, then Do an Aerial Smash (with the C-Stick) or N-Air and that will IMMEDIATELY! grab the tome or sword, no longer do we have to make the decision of tossing the book to do our Normals. Not only that it provides a great Mix-up if we move forward or backwards for a short-hopped aerial, sure they roll away from our aerial, but if they roll into the book we can make a nice follow up out of it. From this we have gained an option to comeback to the ground a lot easier,a nice Mix-up, and I'm hoping that soon we will find ways to keep swords and tomes with us for an entire match through juggling.EDIT: also if you didn't know if your opponent blocks a thrown Item you can grab it again before it touches the ground, those tomes and levin swords do a LOT of shield damage, don't be afraid to pressure a little. =)
I think a good way we could improve Robin, would be to copy/imitate things that other characters are trying, this is one of those examples albeit situational, but it's not that hard to do. All in all i'm just saying Robin's options aren't as limited as we think.
