Chance - 0.05% - Mildly popular, but being an Assist Trophy on top of being a known divisive character would cause much hesitation, I would think.
Want - 30% - Tetra or Vaati would be my choice.
Homecoming Hijinx
Chance - 17.5% - An iconic track to be certain, but otherwise in a bit of a tough spot. More appropriate to icier levels, the DK series is more likely to get a location unfitting for the Snowmad's main theme. Of course, it's not like this sort of thing hasn't happened before (I'm looking at you, Frozen Hillside), it's still a mark against it.
Want - 90% - David Wise is a musical Genus, but there are tracks in Tropical Freeze that I want more. Any Autumn Heights music, or some of the boss battles, would make me much more happy, especially considering the current likely stage selection.

Chance: 25%
Music DLC is a tough thing to predict right now. E3 came and went, and the only new music we've seen is included with new stages. Though it doesn't entirely rule out standalone music, now it seems more likely any new music will have to accompany a stage.
Perhaps the question we ought to be asking is how likely a new DK stage is...and that is...also up in the air. On one hand, the only newcomer we've had so far came with a stage, and King K. Rool seems like a near lock. On the other, though, Ryu was a very big deal, every third party newcomer we've ever had has always brought a stage with them (meaning Suzaku Castle might not tell us anything at all), and they said they'd only be able to make a handful of stages...though that could be a smokescreen.
If there was a new DK stage, though, Homecoming Hijinx has a pretty good shot of making its tracklist. As more or less the main theme of the Snowmads, it's important to the series at the moment...and that might just be enough for it to find a way in just like how the final boss theme from Kirby Triple Deluxe snuck in to Dream Land 64.

The infamous middle aged dude who insists he was a fairy in a past life...a.k.a. the guy nobody outside of Japan likes. We've talked about polarizing characters before, ones with hatebases that have different levels of...foundedness? Is that a word?
Nonetheless...compared to how many people hate Tingle? Everything we've seen so far pales in comparison. We're talking a character whose hatebase is so widespread a trope has been named after him! To say he'd have any semblance of a support base when so much of the Smash world twitches just seeing him pop out of an Assist Trophy is...
Oh, right. I should also mention that he's already a summon. Not only have we seen no sign the developers are willing to rewrite code to make a summon playable, why would it be this guy? Even within his own series, he's outgunned by multiple other assist characters!
Okay, maybe I'm getting a little loud here. It's...pretty obvious to all of us this guy has (functionally) no chance unless Sakurai decides to be a massive troll.

An inclusion that'd leave me shaking my head. With so many other candidates out there, even if we got a Zelda newcomer before him there'd still be so many other ones that'd be so much more interesting...and less controversial.
Waluigi Prediction: 4.00%
A semi-popular pick that left some people fuming once he kept his status as a summon...but his support base isn't nearly that of Ridley's and his series has a couple solid newcomer candidates even without him.
Sami Prediction: 8.75%
Take where Andy's score is, dock a couple points for not being the face of the franchise, but then add a little back due to Project M talk putting her on people's minds.

If you are wondering why I'm abstaining from rating Tingle's chance...take a look at my want. Yeah, I don't want to give an extremely biased rating today, and he's going to keep universally low scores anyway so I'm not going to bother.
About that want...
No. I'm going to be completely honest. I have no idea why anyone could like Tingle. He's greedy, annoying, and in the actual Zelda games, he's an irredeemable burden. Even people in the actual games hate him.
He's little more than a lame joke, and his Assist Trophy fits that perfectly.
I'm OK with most Zelda characters choices even if I don't personally support them, but Tingle getting into Smash would offend me as a Zelda fan. He doesn't represent anything the series stands for.

3. Homecoming Hijinx specifically is a theme for that stage.
Instead of a "Dark Jungle Hijinx" song or other great Tropical Freeze songs like that one windmill song.

Judging by past DLC practices, it seems new music will be tied to new stage. So far, they haven't really made any indication that there will be a new DK stage, especially since the DLC stages for worlds already in the game are appearing to be from the N54 version and DK's N64 stage is already in the Wii U game. Even if we get K. Rool as a playable character, being as his series already has a stage in the game, I don't see that bringing a new DK stage either as Lucas, Roy and Mewtwo did not for their respective worlds.

I never heard the song, so I honestly couldn't care less about it specifically, but if it means bringing more music to the game for any series, I'm totally up for that. I love the stage builder and would love to have even more tunes to make stages with.

Judging by past DLC practices, it seems new music will be tied to new stage. So far, they haven't really made any indication that there will be a new DK stage, especially since the DLC stages for worlds already in the game are appearing to be from the N54 version and DK's N64 stage is already in the Wii U game. Even if we get K. Rool as a playable character, being as his series already has a stage in the game, I don't see that bringing a new DK stage either as Lucas, Roy and Mewtwo did not for their respective worlds.

I never heard the song, so I honestly couldn't care less about it specifically, but if it means bringing more music to the game for any series, I'm totally up for that. I love the stage builder and would love to have even more tunes to make stages with.

The fact he is already an Assist Trophy hurts his chances tremendously, not to mention he is one of the most hated characters in the Zelda franchise. He is quite popular in Japan though, even going as far as having an entire DS game starring himself (as well as a DSi shop title). Even then, he also faces some serious competition for the new Zelda rep slot with Impa, Tetra, and Ganon, the first two of which are particularly popular in the ballot support.

While I'm sure he could have an interesting moveset, he is not one of my most wanted Zelda characters for DLC; that title would go to Impa for 1st place and Tetra for second place.

The Zelda developers seem very fond of him considering he at least cameos in basically every single one, and he's got more cred as a potential Smash character than pretty much any of the other Zelda Assist Trophies, given his own series and his popularity in the East, but I can admit the prognosis is not good. Unfortunately too many people get very upset by this prancing little fairy man who is not serious enough for their vidya gamez. Even Aonuma seems wary to include him anymore. He has had a bit of renaissance lately what with remakes of his his two biggest appearances and Hyrule Warriors DLC, but he's going to need a lot more than that for him to get in as a DLC character with only a few spots to go around. Smash 5? Maaaaybe if he shows up in Zelda U or gets another game of his own.

There are some characters I want more, but Tingle is definitely top five for me and has been since before Brawl. I think he's hilarious, and is a perfect representative of the extensive and wonderful world of wacky/creepy/funny Zelda NPCs, something that makes Zelda what it is just as much as pieces of heart and bosses with one giant weak spot. His solo games are delightful, seriously underrated, and actually did pretty good business in Japan. He could also have a very unique moveset and would be a wonderful addition to the cast in general. I will accept no other Zelda newcomer. Tetra, Ganon, and Impa are basically all versions of characters we already have, and Ghirahim/Midna/Zant/Skull Kid/Groose/Insert one-off character here (Okay Skull Kid is a three-off, whatever) have nowhere near the presence within the series that Tingle does. I will never understand the hate he gets. I think it's entirely a bandwagon thing. He's just the Wario of Zelda, and he's wonderful. If you are like-minded, come celebrate all that is Tingle in his support thread.

Love him or hate him, he is undeniably one of the downright strangest and quirkiest characters Nintendo has produced in years. No such character has the strange and unique ability to make people want to gorge their eyes out, being a disgusting, creepy, middle-aged man child. Isn't that wonderful?

Although I am a Tingle fan myself, I do not understand his popularity in Japan and (to some extent) Europe. His popularity was enough to get him three games starring him, a really commendable feat for a side character. Tingle's popularity was important enough to get him into Hyrule Warriors via DLC, even over quintessential favourites like the enigmatic Skull Kid. As it turned out, he was the most requested characters, proving that his popularity has indeed stood the test of time. What's more, now that Hyrule Warriors in coming to the 3DS as well, he will implant himself as one of the Zelda series's mainstays in te eyes of Nintendo fans for ages to come.All according to plan.
Now, why do I want him? It's simple. Tingle is the epitome of weirdness, and I honestly prefer quirky characters like those over everyman characters like Mario or Link or über-badass characters like, say, Goku. Which is also the reason I tend to enjoy the side-characters in a game far more than the main characters, since main characters are often written in a way to attract the general audience. That's not to say I don't enjoy them, as Mario is one of my favourite video game characters. Any character who can make me laugh gets a +1 in my book over a serious character.
Also, I never found him particularly annoying. The Triforce Charts is tiresome , yeah, but my opinion did a U-turn after I played Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland which is a really good spin-off game, drawing fully from Zelda's setting while adding a clever and justifiable gimmick on top of it - Rupees are basically his life-force, and if he is robbed of his last rupee, he dies, GAME OVER. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Tingle.
Also, if Tingle ever becomes playable, you can guarantee that getting defeated by a Tingle player would be a level of disrespect possibly only rivalled by
. So that's a good reason too.

I really have no pull one way or another with Waluigi, but he (and Daisy) seem like the forgotten couple. Both are really only showcased in the Mario and Friends games with multiple playables, and have been in almost every one of those. Smash does seem a bit weird without them, even if they may only be sideshows in their host series. As overrepped as the Mario series is, they do kinda deserve to get in as well.
Unfortunately, people are going to pull the Assist argument, which is really hurting his chances for future games as well since he's getting little support.

As everyone said, this cheater is an Assit Trophy and there's no way he can cheat his way out of this. But the Mario franchise is going strong and spinoff characters like him and Daisy still have consistent roles to this day. He does get credit for having the most ballot support of every Assist Trophy that had been shot down and again, this is mostly due to him being a popular character with the Mario fandom. Even with all this fan support, that still doesn't mean that he'll make it as DLC over any other non-NOPC character that has massive support.

Expecting a number lower than 100%? TOO BAD WALUIGI TIME!
This is literally one of the best characters that camelot had ever designed and he;s essentially what makes every Mario spinoff enjoyable due to his wacky personality. As much as I love Daisy, this guy truly deserves to be in Smash over her since he had captured the hearts of Smash fans everywhere before the day he became an Assist Trophy. That being said, I really want to stop people and whack them with rackets instead of watching an Assist trophy doing all of that.
