1) Create US account on xbox.com
2) Sign in to US account on your 360
3) Activate online with code
4) Switch back to your Australian account
5) Play

both my housemate and I both bought US region ps3 copies from playasia for about $75 each including express postage via fedex which took 3 days to arrive.

They don't confiscate it if you import it from overseas, you're just not allowed to buy it from a store.

They actually can if they want to they just don't, a couple of people have been really unlucky
