Project M isn't working properly

The only thing I've done on it was replace 2 songs (which went fine), an FD stage, and a skin for a character. When I start it up it's fine, but it opens up the brawl menu for some reason. All the game mechanics are the same like wavedashing and knockback from moves but everything else is the same as Brawl. When finishing a match it crashes and you have to restart the system. What do I do? :$

Make sure the SD card isn't named "Project M". Had the same thing happen to me a few days ago, forgot that if you rename the SD card to "Project M", it messes up the way the game reads the directories for the files that change characters, stages, music, etc.
