Okay, I know that this was an April Fools joke, but there are some things that I would be genuinely interested in seeing implemented in future editions of the game.

First, N64-style models of the entire cast would be great to see in the game, as was shown off in the video. I saw many of those skins (namely Saturn Sonic) and genuinely thought "I want to play that." I would gladly sacrifice a costume for each character if it meant that I could get them to look like they did in that video.

Second, the N64 L-canceling should be an option for the game in addition to Auto-L-Cancel. Maybe you could shift between standard, automatic, and N64 L-canceling in the menu (or even better, in the controls with your name). I doubt that this would be used at tournaments, but I really do think that many N64 fans would have a lot of fun tinkering with that ability in the game.

So, is there hope for these, or is this just a pipe dream for Smash 64 fans?

64 L cancel would completely change the game. That is not a logical option. If anything it would be a special mode type of option if anything. Also, name dependent? That would give the 64 users a complete advantage over the other players. That's even less logical. If you mixed Melee speed with 64 cancel, things would just get broken.

Dude, it would probably just be another added feature kind of like what auto L-canceling is. It isn't completely game changing if it's just an option that you don't have to have on.

I've always wanted to see a "Plus" edition of Smash 64. I didn't like how you couldn't play Metal Cavern, Battlefield, or Final Destination in multiplayer by regular means, so having a version with all those stages would be awesome. Plus, the extra characters of Project M would be a huge addition.

I would play it, no question.

You have these talented artist making awesome alternate costumes and you're gonna ask for slots to be taken up by ones of shoddy quality for a silly gimmick. Smh.

A SILLY GIMMICK? Someone didn't have a childhood did they? Plus they really don't have to replace costumes. This option would appeal so much to my casual friends to give them a boost of nostalgia.

"having a childhood" and wanting to fill your awesome looking game with low poly models because 'that's how things used to look' are totally unrelated.

Actually they are: "having a childhood" referring to having played super smash 64 growing up and loving the game, the low poly models being the models of such game, and wanting a return for nostalgia purposes. "'that's how things used to look'" is exactly the point! Even if they are low poly models. For nostalgic purposes, it is required. I could have said that nicer but whateves.

Tl;dr- "having a childhood" creates the nostalgia for wanting low poly models in awesome looking game.

Y'know, that could possibly be a way to implement an extra costume. Y'know how the characters can be altered in special so that they are metal or invisible or have the turbo glow? The same code could be applied to creating N64-style models.

They already put the time and effort into making the skins for the vid, so there is no point in not putting it in the game eventually. It's basically what happened with turbo mode lol.

Did they though? I'm pretty sure a lot of those models were already made. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I think they should at least bring back graphically updated skeleton animations from Smash 64 for when they get electrocuted. That would be sick and would be a nod to Smash64 fans.

Lol, 2nd post complaining about my font. (1st was Edel)

I think that there are people out there who are tired with having everything so fresh, so they request stuff like this. It's really nice when you get something like this that brings back memories.

The addition of 64 mode in Special Brawl would be way more fun than that damage reset mode they added in 3.6.

It's something more people would use too.
