Did you really buy smash bros, boot up online and NOT expect to be pitted against children that have discovered the best moves and want to use them over and over again to beat you? ... Huh
Hahaha so true...and then there are the people who get their wifi from mcdonalds or walk a mile from their house while playing online.

In its early stages on the 3DS, I might have come across some projectile spammers. When the WiiU version came out, I don't think I've come across a single 'spammer'. Maybe I just don't allow people to do it, I usually keep close of my opponents.

I think people who like to play fast characters are bit quick to criticize people who play slower, projectile-heavy characters, and vice versa.

So, I've so far tried to be an advocate for Smash 4 being played competitively, and I really want to like the game, but lately I've not had any fun with it because of players who camp and spam projectiles. I'm not just complaining about the For Glory people either, one of the main people I play with has resorted to mainly playing really campy characters now, and playing against someone decently good at the game using a strat that overpowered is nearly impossible. In most of the threads I see about this everyone just says to use Fox or Falco for their reflectors. If I wanted to only play Fox and Falco I'd go play Melee. Is there really no good strategy for dealing with people like this? At first I thought it was just annoying when people played like that but a good player could beat them, but now I'm really thinking this game is in trouble competitively because when a good player uses cheap strategies it makes the game nearly impossible unless you resort to that as well.

*merged the two existing threads since they were so similar, but figured after some thought that neither deserved staying open*

-Individual rant/negative gripes/criticism threads aren't allowed. Closest thing to "allowed" ones would be these:

http://smashboards.com/threads/whats-your-john.392254/
http://smashboards.com/threads/unpopular-smash-4-opinions-v2-0-read-the-op-before-posting.358318/ (though this is arguably far from unpopular opinion)

-Camping is far from "overpowered" and "impossible" to beat, much less cheap. If you're annoyed with players willing to do whatever it takes to win, then I apologize, not really much I can say other than patience and actual willingness to learn benefits every player, competitive or otherwise.

-Gameplay advice/general strategy talk would be better suited to this thread:

If you're looking to discuss the actual implications of camping/its consequences on the current metagame, then it would be best to take it to the Competitive Discussion subforum (particularly the sticky'd threads).
