Like every game with Mario, I play every mode as him with training mode on battlefield being the first. It's a weird tradition but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I mean, they made the Gamecube controller compatible for some reason or another, correct? Make sure you jam it in as hard as possible if it does not work at first. I heard that that was quite the common problem. With enough force, you should manage just fine.
