Red Rescue Team had great music too! Wow that game is good! Great spin off series until the 3Ds Dungeon game completely ruined the game by trashing mechanics and taking about any form of freedom and difficulty away from that series (like the hunger mechanic, which I liked). That series better not die lol. I was also angry you could choose your pokemon, and all of them were terrible cause they were not all the starters.

I think you're the only person I have ever seen that likes the hunger mechanic. But Yea I have to say GTI sucks. I'm really hoping for a 4th MD game. One similar to the first two But with GTI graphics and all 719 Pokemon.

Lol really? The reason I liked it is because it added another level of difficulty to the game, and it brought in an entirely unique gameplay, further differing it from the original series. Part of that reason may be because of Nostalgia, but that and other trashed mechanics were my biggest disappointments of GTI. The game's story was also never as touching as the first game (that was the first game ending I ever cried to. From the music to the completion of the story)
Yeah, I hope they go back to the classics. It would be so much better. Although, the art style of GTI could be worked on for the next game. I really enjoyed the sprites, and I felt they were poorly made into 3d. My two cents. We can discuss this in PMs though since this is off topic

Windy Hill:
Terminal Velocity Act 1 - Was originally thinking Tropical Resort or Planet Wisp... but I hate calm music in Smash Bros.
Green Hill Zone Modern - The only good rendition of the iconic tune. Get at me.

Meta Junglira - I really want a remix of this. So bad.
Angel Island Act 1 (Sonic Advance) - Like Meta Junglira, an updated remix of this would kick ass.
Back to Soul - Sonic the Fighters had a rockin' soundtrack for the many of you that never played it. I advise you to look up more of its tunes.

I had a great well coded reply for the other topic and while I was making it, it was merged so I lost all that work I put into the post. So I have to remake the post. I'll spend the time to remaking it now.

Here are some of the tracks I'd like to see used for some of the various stages, with links to the various musics on youtube or whatever so you can hear what I mean. And I'll give reasons why I chose them.

Super Mario Galaxy
Wind Garden - To me this theme (remixed many times in SMG and SMG2) is the definitive Galaxy theme. And I think it'd work well.
Overworld 2 (Super Mario Bros 3) or Blue Sky Athletics (Super Mario Galaxy) - Both are the same track just different mixes of it. I think as an alternate track it would work for the SMG stage in SSB4.

Star Fox - Corneria
Corneria (SNES version) - This theme just rocks, would be great to fight to and I think the SNES game has exponentially better music than the N64 game. (But has to be done right by Nintendo).

Legend of Zelda
Skyloft - I chose the Sky Field music for this stage as I think it just fits so well.
Hyrule Temple - Reuse the Melee version of this Zelda 2 palace remix. It's just so amazing.

Fire Emblem
Any Stage - Again I'm saying the Melee Fire Emblem theme as it's also amazing.

Kirby
Fountain of Dreams - This stage probably will not return in SSB4. But the music should. Another simply amazing track.

Animal Crossing
K.K. Mambo (Aircheck) - A few pieces would work alright I think but I feel this one would fit the best in an Animal Crossing stage. Not too fast as to take away from the laid back pace of Animal Crossing and not too slow as to bore the players.

Mega Man
Dr Wiley's Castle - Mega Man 2, Dr Wiley's Castle stage 1. This is "The" definitive Dr Wiley stage music from the classic series. A good remix of this would be perfect. (Note well I said "good" and not the "****" that is on the SSB4 official music page).

Rattle Battle - DKC2 is full of amazing music but not much of it translates to a fighting game. But I think this track would do well.

So this is the current SSB4 Wii U general music discussion thread, then...? Took me like 3 pages to find it.. XD

I'm hoping to post some additional remarks later, but here is the list (still a work in progress) of songs that have been featured in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, in case anyone wants to reference them for the Wii U version:

Some songs seem to be exclusive to the 3DS Sound Test, since each stage only has 2 songs. Apparently, you press R to force a stage's second song; not sure if the first song can be forced in any way.

I'm hoping that all of the music on the SSB4 Nintendo 3DS Sound Test is included in the Wii U edition. My major hopes for returning tracks include:

• "Together, We Ride!" (Super Smash Bros. Brawl arrangement) (a must-have for me), whether as a track for a potential returning Castle Siege stage, or for the Wii U's Fire Emblem-inspired Coliseum stage.
• "Final Destination (Brawl)" also needs to return as an option for the Wii U's Final Destination stage, although I hope that the SSB4 Main Theme is available in a similarly remixed style.
  
• The Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal "Battle Theme medley" arrangement from Super Smash Bros. Melee is another must-have for me. If neither of the 2 Pokemon Stadium stages returns, I'll be content with just replaying this song in the Sound Test.
• "Dialga/Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!" was quite the impressive track in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so I'm hoping that it returns coupled with the Spear Pillar stage. I'm glad to hear that Generation 5 of Pokemon received a similar arrangement in SSB4 3DS with an arranged medley of "Battle! VS Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyurem" and "Dragonspiral Tower" (which I'd really like to call "Reshiram/Zekrom Battle at Dragonspiral Tower" for consistency's sake XD)!
• "Shin Onigashima", because that was pure unadulterated "No Export For You"-laced awesomeness!
• For the "Kalos Pokemon League" stage, I expect it to include "Battle! VS Champion (Kalos)" {maybe a medley could incorporate it, with the Kalos Elite Four battle theme preceding it?} and "Battle! VS Xerneas/Yveltal" within the stage's My Music selection list. However, "Battle! VS Elite Four (Hoenn)" definitely needs to be included as a pioneer for Elite 4-exclusive tracks (along with an excerpt of it cameoing in the Unova Elite Four's battle theme), and would help to reference the upcoming Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire games for Hoenn! As for other themes for the stage, the "Victory Road (Hoenn)" arrangement from Super Smash Bros. Brawl would suffice (being already made, being linked to a region's Elite Four headquarters in Ever Grande City, and providing further advertisement for Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire), in addition to the "Victory Road/Elite Four headquarters" theme for the Kalos region.
• Regarding Pokemon, I'm quite surprised that the "Battle! VS Champion (Kanto) [FireRed/LeafGreen remix]" (also known as "Last/Final Battle! (VS Rival)" theme (with the melody debuting in Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow) hasn't appeared in Super Smash Bros. series yet, given the number of fan remixes that it has. XD As an often-recurring battle theme (present in Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, FireRed, LeafGreen, Black 2/White 2, in addition to the Pokemon Stadium series and the Rhythm Hunter: HarmoKnight game from Game Freak; with unused versions apparently being located in Pokemon Black/White and Pokemon X and Y as well), I think it's time for that track to shine! I'm more familiar with the Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen rendition, although any of the powerful arrangements would do (or even a unique Super Smash Bros. arrangement).
• The Kirby "Boss Theme Medley" from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so I can potentially use it fittingly on an actual Kirby stage.
• "Corneria (Brawl arrangement)" and "Main Theme (Star Fox 64) [Brawl arrangement]" also seem like potential candidates for that Great Fox stage that was featured in an SSB4 Picture of the Day a while ago. "Space Armada (Brawl arrangement)" could work as well.

As for a new track, "The Arena" (from Kirby's Return to Dreamland) could work (it stemmed from that lovely "Kirby Nintendo GameCube trailer", and also considering that the game and its 3 previous prototype iterations went through a lot to get released!); it seems fitting with a lot of the "triumphant"/"orchestrated" music found in the Super Smash Bros. series.

With Capcom working on SSB4 in part, "Pressing Pursuit ~ Cornered" (from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) would be a fantastic addition!

Regarding long shots, I would love it if 2 Zero Wing tracks, "Introduction (Part 1)" {often overshadowed by the memetic Engrish text/dialogue of the Zero Wing intro!} and "Open Your Eyes (Stage 1: Natols)" (as if Zero Wing couldn't get any more awesome, then I heard that masterpiece <3 Many thanks to the music of the "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" video by Bad-CRC of Newgrounds for allowing me to encounter the Natols track!) made it in somehow, along with "Terrible Beat" from Revenge of Shinobi..
