So someone said this to me regarding B+

"Next Lan I'm going to bring some pre-made Brawl+ SD cards so you can put them into any Wii and it will automatically run Brawl+"

What does this mean? is there a way we can get b+ (and textures??) on a wii without having to softmod it via twilight princess etc?

No, that person just meant that the Bannerbomb hack will be already set up so that you can get Brawl+ all set up in just like 2 minutes (literally).

No, the one I posted is to make a Custom Stage Select Screen, like you can make a Custom Character Select Screen.

And I just realized, I have, and have been using the code you've been looking for.

here it is:

Code:
Button Music Modifier
284DE4B0 0000YYYY
4A000000 90180F06
14000076 FF00XXXX
E0000000 80008000

Replace the Y's with one of the buttons below and replace the X's
with the song's number. Holding that button while a stage loads will
play that song.
0080 - No Button
0081 - D-Pad Left
0082 - D-Pad Right
0084 - D-Pad Down
0088 - D-Pad Up
0090 - Z
00A0 - R
00C0 - L
0180 - A
0280 - B
0480 - X
0880 - Y
1080 - Start/Pause

Example:
284DE4B0 00000081
4A000000 90180F06
14000076 FF00272E
E0000000 80008000
With this code, holding left on the d-pad while a stage is loading will
play Bramble Blast. You can set a song to each button and even do
button combinations too like L+R or L+R+B+A.

Music List
Replace XXXX with one of the following (Nameless and Unused
songs will most likely NOT work)

Some throws have hitboxes. This is not the same as every throw having a hitbox. A trivial example is Luigi's backthrow - during it, he spins the opponent around. Anyone who comes in contact with the opponent during this time takes damage. This is a hitbox of the throw. Increasing the damage of it does not serve to increase the knockback of the throw (except in the context that the opponent will be at a higher % damage as it dealt more in some cases).
Very interesting! Thank you for the info. Does that mean that you can't affect the base knockback or knockback gain of a throw whatsoever? Or is it throw-dependent?

Ok so I spent pretty much most of the day hunting down this Custom Stage Select Screen code, and I'm kind of confused about some parts of it, because where I got it from, didn't really explain it/left parts out.

So I think I've pretty much figured out that the ZZZZZZZZ lines are for example, 0B0B1E18 if I wanted Norfair and Skyworld next to each other since it goes Level ID then Icon ID.

But what I don't get is what the bolded lines are for (WW, VVVVVVVV, NN, MMMMMMMM, YY and ZZZZZZZZ since bold is completely clear):
Code:

Could someone help me and clarify this, or link me to where the original explanation of the code is?
yah really

This might not go here, but I suppose it corresponds to a couple codes and ingame mechanics at one time...

What are the equations (with variables to show where character weight and such would go) that the game uses to determine hitstun and hitlag?

Man, i hate to wait weeks and weeks for seeing that anyone respond my questios. They're easy, for estimating, they would take 5 minutes of your live. But, whathever, i'll have to wait months or maybe the new Smash Bros would be released when anyone answer my questions. Thanx to much for this.

I'm not sure. I'm sure it exists somewhere. I've only ever seen the game cube controller setup. Maybe try asking the IRC, or even Googling it, because the forum search here sucks.

I have one request for Peach. To make her up b actually somewhat useful as an attack, maybe you could shorten the landing lag. Up b is actually a pretty decent combo ender, and it's disjointed, so it has some good attack properties...the only BIG ****ING PROBLEM with it is that is has so much laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

So could you guys shorten its landing lag...just a little bit? please? =3

I'm interested in putting in Roy's sword effects in for one of Ike's custom textures. Could anyone point me in the direction of a place that could further explain this process to me, or explain it to me yourself? Any help is appreciated.

Is there a code that freezes delfino on specific areas? I'll love anyone who can make delfino freeze on top of the house with a walkoff to the left.

What's the difference between PCS and PAC files for character textures?
The PCS files are encoded and are loaded directly when you choose the character on the selection screen. The pac files are not encoded and are loaded dynamically during gameplay -- for example, when transforming as Zelda, the game loads the pac file, not the pcs file.

At least, I'm pretty positive that's the way of it.

So pac files aren't requires except for characters that change mid-battle, such as Zelda -> Sheik and the regular Pokemon trainer?

So I think I've pretty much figured out that the ZZZZZZZZ lines are for example, 0B0B1E18 if I wanted Norfair and Skyworld next to each other since it goes Level ID then Icon ID.

But what I don't get is what the bolded lines are for (WW, VVVVVVVV, NN, MMMMMMMM, YY and ZZZZZZZZ since bold is completely clear):

Could someone help me and clarify this, or link me to where the original explanation of the code is?
yah really
there are almost no people answering questions on this thread...

hey, i got a couple questions.

1st, im having trouble with the melee air dodge code. ive tried like 3 different codes for it and none of them work, but yet, all my other codes work. Anyone know why its not working?

2nd, i just cannot find any working gravity codes for making the gravity heavier in brawl. anyone got any suggestions? i would really appreciate it. thanks.

Okay... here's goes....

I apologize in advance since this question probably has been answered thousands of times. I have searched the boards but have found many answers that left me with more questions and each answer was for different methods, so in sort I need an answer that a simple person like myself could understand...

Please be gentle, I know most of you are annoyed with this, but don't know where else to go.

So here it is:

I'm currently able to run Brawl+ but cannot get the textures to work, I've checked my directories and they seem to be running fine. But everytime I load, only brawl+ plays. Any ideas?

I wanna play as Old Snake :(

Currently using:

Gecko 1901 (1.9)
Plusery 4.1 (the downloaded files provided by this site)

Using that stuff Brawl+ works fine, but minus the Textures. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time.

r u using the snap shot method to load the codes or the double gct? also make sure ur naming the pcs right (FitSnake00 would change his original color to the pcs) the name is case sensitive. also make sure you have file replacment code on in ur brawl+ codes

Uh, not exactly sure which method exactly I just downloaded the plusery from the link and did what would be necessary, so I don't know which method is what (not an experienced coder) :psycho:

As for the naming conventions this is what it looks like: (the F: drive is my SD card)

F:\private\wii\APP\RSBE\pf\fighter\Snake

and the name for the texture:

FitSnake00.pcs

I've tried multiple methods (even going to the 4.2 RSBE01.gct) but so far nothing...

Is the .gct file I use blocking the Textures?

If your directory is like that as you say and the texture name is like that (both of which are correct), then the only other possible explanation is your codes are wrong.

You need to use a code called "File Replacement V2.1a":

I guess what could be the problem is that you aren't enabling the code via the code manager when you compile it.

Uh... if you reply saying "I downloaded the already compiled GCT" then I have no idea what the problem is.

By the way, what size SD card are you using? What's your Wii's firmware (version)?

where should character select portraits go on the sd card for them to work? :O
The files you DL from sites such as kittycorp don't go on the SD. You need to run them through a program called "cupash" first. Unfortunately, the site which provides the tutorial is having difficulties and therefore you can't get it. I'm sure someone here has it though, so PM one of the more code oriented people and they might just e-mail you it.

Here's my rundown:

I have a US wii so I use the American codes
Using a SDHC 4 GB card.
Wii firmware verion 4.0
All I did was go to the provided download link and unzipped the Plusery 4.1.rar, placed the files on the root of my SD and loaded

About the code you provided...I thought that was already packaged in the 4.1 rar...

About the enabling of the codes: I have the code manager 1.1 but the lines are limited to 256, I've done some thread browsing saying there is a manager that allows up to 8k lines I think the problem is that:

The codes aren't enabled and to do so I must diable some features of brawl plus 4.1 to get the tex hacks.

Should I just format my SD card, redownload the 4.1 rar and seek out the newest code manager to enable the codes?

it cant be a SDHC card. Use one of the standard 2 GB ones if you want that much memory.

Oh, and just download the gameconfig.txt file that you need to get over 8000 lines.

K so this is what I comprehend so far (sorry, but was born a natural computer idiot)

I must purchase a STANDARD 2 GB SD card (any brands recommended?)

the gameconfig.txt file is necessary to get over 8K lines of code (may I have a link please and how does it work?)

Keep the files I have and load them to the 2GB card and things will start working.

If that's a yes then thank you thank you thank you...

yeah it has to be a 2Gig standard Sd card, and any brand should work so long as it is a SD not SDHC

the gameconfig.txt thing or the snapshot or double gct method should let you use all the codes u'll need. i never understood the double gct or the gameconfig.txt thing but this is the tutorial for the snapshot method http://www.smashbrawl.com/showthread.php?t=226649

and yes your files r fine niles, they just need to be moved to the 2 gig card

Yes, you are correct.

I recommend that you go to game stop and get one of the SD cards that are for Brawl (they will help you). It doesn't have to be a 2GB card, it can be a 1GB too, if you want. The SD card doesn't have to be standard, but it must be the correct type of SD card. So, it cannot be an SDHC card.

The reason why the textures will not work on your current SDHC card is because the game does not read that type of disc. Gecko, however, uses any type of SD card, as long as there is a .gct file named RSBE01 in the codes folder. So, all of the codes will load, but the textures will not load from your SDHC card because the game does not recognize it as a valid disc (SD card).

I hope this explanation helps.

No problem. It is pretty easy once you learn the basics.
A download of the gameconfig.txt can be found on the Nightly Builds thread in the Workshop.

Plus, i helped because I had nothing better to do :p

If you need any help with hacking at all, please pm me. I will be able to answer your question (most likely).

I have gotten very good with all of this hacking stuff lately :)

oh, and the gameconfig.txt can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?tzahjwkov2c
Download it, and then put it on the root of your SD card. After you do that, just boot up Gecko and let it work its over 8000 magic :)
NOTE: GAMECONFIG.TXT SHOULD JUST BE NAMED GAMECONFIG! DO NOT AD THE .TXT EXTENSION TO THE END OF THIS FILE's NAME!

If you want an explanation of how the gameconfig.txt file works, pm bkirch.
