Official Character Palette Swap Thread (WINNER ANNOUNCED/NEW TOPIC!)

If anyone wants to do a Muddy Mole pallet swap with the swaps being a red (normal), blue, green, black, yellow, and a Gameboy-colored Muddy (the whole white/light gray/dark gray/black toned pixel colors), I'd be very appreciative.

I couldn't find any official art of decent quality, so I used artwork by fryguy64.

Also, because I wasn't sure if you wanted Muddy himself recolored for the first four colors, I did both.

6. Red, added back his red palette from Melee but added a cape to the mix.

This is pretty cool but I got a question... when in the heat of the battle, how are human players gonna tell the difference between a regular Pichu and a spiky-eared Pichu? Realistically speaking, no one is going to look at those ears during a match.

The spiky one appears to be a different yellow then the regular one

I adjusted the contrast of his yellow color on spiky ears, but then again it would be difficult to notice a difference between spiky ears and regular Pichu during a fast-paced match.

Thank you for the compliment. Anyway, while I did bring back the shiny recolor for Mewtwo, it's no longer portrayed as a team battle color, since my green recolor is the one that would be utilized for the green team.

Interestingly, Lucario did have an alternate blue recolor in Brawl, but it's its default color that was used for the blue team.

I updated the main OP with MSG's Mewtwo and fogbadge's versions of Link. They are all under Majora Mask Link.

As there are some people that would like to see Mewtwo's colors from Melee, I tried my hand on him as well:

Purple - Regular Mewtwo.
Green - Shiny coloration.
Orange - Melee colors, somewhat based on his sprite from Pokémon Yellow.
Blue - Melee colors.
Black - Stadium 2 shiny. For some reason, shiny Mewtwo appears black in that game.
Pink - Mew Mewtwo.

It's the 6th recolor (the one at the bottom-right) that references Mewtwo's shiny coloration.

If you're wondering why the tail isn't brightly colored green, it's a contrast reduction, just so that it's roughly similar to how Mewtwo's default palette is set up.

Love that Midbus reference. Midbus is one of my favorite characters from the Mario games.

Also, I made some recolors for Tingle (they are a bit rushed though, but get the point across):

Green - Regular Tingle
Blue - Reference to Knuckle, one of Tingle's brothers.
Pink (Red team) - Reference to Ankle, one of Tingle's brothers.
White - Reference to David Jr., who is often seen in the company of Tingle and his brothers.
Yellow - Reference to the Golden Tingle Statues you can find in the Wind Waker and Minish Cap.
Dark - Because apparently every character needs a dark version.

Those Tingle recolors are spot-on, referencing everything they need to. It's kind of perfect how Knuckle, Ankle, and David Jr. provide Tingle's blue, red, and white outfits, reflecting the like-colored tunics of Link. Then the golden and dark Tingles further counter Link's gold and Dark Link costumes. Great job splat!

Agreed, and every Pokémon in the game currently has that in some way - except for Lucario.
So I made him some colors. Original artwork created by Chibi-Pika of deviantArt.

Blue - Regular.
Red - Based on Zoroark's color scheme.
Green - Because Lucario's current palette swaps are iffy I gave him a color that's somewhat between blue and green.
Yellow - Look at him, he's so... shiny!
Purple - An alternative option to use for the Red team - same deal as the green one. Works fine as just a purple scheme, too.
Sand - Based on Lucario's white palette swap in Brawl, just a tad more colorful.

Both Squirtle and Ivysaur's 'green' palette are very close to their shiny colors.
Charizard's 'blue' palette is reminiscent (though it needs quite some imagination) of his Gen. 2 shiny coloration.

But I could've worded it differently. Lucario and Charizard don't have their respective shiny colors. Oh well.

Foreman spike was the inspiration for Waluigi

Nice ideas, but the colors on some of those seem WAY too bright.
