Hey Houstonians and fellow Texas, and tri-state players. Game Guys, the same people who hosted melee and PM at texas showdown and Intergalactic kegger this past July is hosting another tournament. Game Guys, houston's premiere Melee and project M location, brings to you " Smash is for Babies". "Smash is for Babies" will be our official monthly tournament series and will be hosted by myself, Mojo.

To see some of the competition for Melee and Project Melee surrounding the Houston area, you can check out:

www.twitch.tv/houstongameguys

This will also be the link to the stream for the tournament.

Rule set for Melee: Apex

Rule set for PM:

1. 4 stock, 8 minute matches
2. Stages are struck in a 1-2-2-1 manner from the 5 starters.
3. After game 1, the winner bans 3 stages, then the loser picks stage, then the winner picks character, then the loser picks character.
4. Starters: 5
Final Destination
Dreamland
Battlefield
Smashville
PS2
Yoshi's Story
Fountain of Dreams

Counterpicks: 8
Wario Ware
Yoshi's Island Brawl
Skyworld
Green Hill Zone
Lylat
Distant Planet
5. All sets will be best of 3 until Semi-Finals, which will all be best of 5.
6.Modified Dave's stupid rule: a player cannot go back to a stage that he last won on in the set, unless both players agree.
Additional Rules
A player may return to a stage he has previously banned in a set, so long as his opponent does not also ban the stage.
- Gentleman's Clause: Players can agree to any stipulations of a match (random characters, random stage, etc.) with the exception of stipulations which would significantly prolong the time of the match (no more than 4 stocks, no more than 8 minute timer)
- Mike Haze Rule: use of yelling, screaming, or gratuitous noise meant to distract an opponent is grounds for DQ or removal from the venue. If a player does or says anything that offends their opponent, his opponent may report it to the TO who will then handle the dispute.
- Dakpo Clause: if the color of a character or team is deemed by the opponent too difficult to see, the player may request them to pick a different color. If the opponent feels this is unreasonable, he may report it to a TO, who will then handle the dispute.
- Don't be that guy- If a player is rude, obscene, or generally unpleasant, the TO reserves the right to disqualify him without refund, or to remove him from the tournament without refund.
- timer clause: if a player feels his opponent is taking too long to deliberate a decision, he may call over a to, who will institute a 30 second clock. This is to be used sparingly: we will take note of everyone who calls the clock, and if you try to abuse this the to may find it grounds for a match loss or a dq.

8:00-12:00- Arrive on time/eat breakfast
10:00- Check In Starts/Casuals
12:00- Registration for both games' doubles Ends/Melee Doubles Start
2:00- PM Doubles Starts
4:00- Registration for both games' singles ENDS/Pm Singles Starts
5:00-Doubles Melee takes priority to finish
6:00- Melee Singles starts
7:00- PM Doubles takes priority to finish
7-12:00- Melee singles and PM singles finish with grand finals being streamed

No matches except Grand finals and Winners Finals for each game will have priority for stream. If matches do not get called to stream I do not want to hear any whining. If you are not in Grand Finals and would like your matches recorded, tell your friend to bring a video camera and stand behind you, otherwise it's gonna be somewhat random in terms of who gets streamed with top players having a slightly higher probability. By no means will I have a setup not being used for tournament purposes if one is available. With that being said, I want to assure you we will have OVER 30 setups in use throughout the venue.

Venue: $10
Melee & PM singles: $10
Melee Doubles/PM Doubles: $5 per teammate.
All money will be taken at venue. Cash only. There is no ATM at the venue.

I will be capping registration for Melee/PM singles at 64 and Melee/PM doubles at 32 teams. You can enter as many events as you like. Teams will need to know their teams partner when signing in, otherwise registration will be discarded.

Sidenote- Due to the installation of the ranking system and the difficulty of remembering which team had which players, there will not be team names. My sincerest apologies as that is always a comic relief in the serious heat of TO'ing on schedule.
