Smash 3DS nintendo eshop update question

when do games normally go up on the eshop for new releases? Is it midnight?

Nintendo confirmed the eShop version is going up at midnight. Typically they update it during the day but Smash Bros is a special exception. Basing this off a email newsletter that I received from Nintendo.

I'd like to point out that previous games that have come out at midnight for the e-shop in Nintendo have been midnight EST. Tomodachi Life, for example, I was able to download at 11pm CST, since that's 1 hour behind eastern time. I'm willing to bet Smash does this too, so I get to play the game an hour early lol... excluding download time...

Strangely enough, the game was on the Japanese eShop about two hours early... my guess is that this was a fluke, but it's still interesting to consider.

Final Fantasy Curtain Call came out at Midnight. So it's save to assume that Smash Bros will as well.

If we'll get it early like Japan is unknown.

It would be really cool if you could predownload the game like 1 day ahead and it only could be accesed at launch day.

Normally, the eShop updates every Thursday at 12:00 PM ET (9:00 AM PT). However, on weeks that a new retail game will be released, the eShop will be updated again on Friday at 12:00 AM ET.
