Hey all,
My name is Kyle and I only recently got into the competitive smash scene/community. I have never played any competitive matches, however I at least know and can utilize the basics during gameplay (L Cancelling, Wave dashing, other smaller skills). I have been trying my hand at mastering captain falcon, however, I'm much more consistent with either Mario or Luigi. Other characters I enjoy playing as would include Jigglypuff, Pikachu, and Marth. Overall, I'm a very new member of this community and have no idea where to even begin in finding people to play/events. If any of you want to chat, feel free to message me!

Hello & welcome to Smashboards. Is that part of your room in the pic? For me that place would be a dream. You have some good skills in Melee. That can translate to a good match up in Smash 4 and a good competition on melee in competitive. You can check the events section to check what tournaments or other gatherings are around you physically or you can use the NNID/FC exchanging section for Smash 4 to find and setup matches. That also works for netplay in brawl and melee and 64. I hope you can find matches and practice. Good luck.

Welcome! I wish you good luck with your future competitive career. Seems like you are trying to master Falcon in Melee. I main him alongside Fox, but I can't play the game anymore thanks to my Wii's disc slot not working, unfortunately.

Thanks for the all the welcomes! I'm planning to attend Shatter 2 in Waterville Ohio on July 11, marking the first Smash event I'll ever play at! Falcon is really the only character I've learned timings and spacings, well him and the Mario Bros. I've always wanted to try and pick up Falco, but I'm just not used to the faster timings and combo setups yet. In the future maybe...
