Missed Alt Opportunities/Potential Alts Discussion

This game seems to be severely lacking in cool alts, aside from LITTLE MAC GETTING LITERALLY 16. Bowser Jr. is essentially the role model for how fantastic alts should be done. Let's take a second and rattle off a few! *yakkity sax begins playing*

Princess Daisy
Protoman

Oh boy, wasn't that a hoot? Now that I've gotten those out of the way, I want to see what every else has thought of in the way of alts for existing characters which have been confirmed as playable. Don't be afraid to go into detail regarding your reasons for selecting said alt and what game it appears in. Obviously no arguing and keep the conversation somewhat relevant and nothing too ridiculous. No "Shrek alt for King Dedede" or anything of that nature.

A Medusa alt for Palutena (Palutena has a Medusa colored dress, but I think Medusa could have worked as an alt for Palutena too, just change the colors of the spells to black/purple)

Shirtless Ike (why does skinny little twig Shulk get a shirtless option but not beefcake gorilla Ike?)

Lucas and Ninten alts for Ness

I agree with Mrs. Pac-Man, but because she's third party she might not be allowed to be just an alt, plus Nintendo would have to get the rights to use her which I doubt they'd want to do just for an alt costume

8 more Villagers instead of 8 boring wireframe Macs that all look identical, 1 wireframe costume would have been great but 8 is just ridiculous

Namco is developing the game, I don't think it would've been that difficult.

Boxer Donkey Kong should have been an alternate costume, especially since Little Mac is in the game.

The recolor is stupid, if you have the time to acknowledge Roy, at least give the recolor red hair.

Surely, I can't be the only one bothered that Bowser Jr. doesn't come in other colors without becoming another Koopaling. I hate those Koopalings. There's too many of them and they take up too much space for Bowser's Jr. character profile in the CSS and the Mario Kart 8 roster.

Alts shouldn't change a character into another character in my opinion like Olimar into Alph or Bowser Jr. into a Koopaling.

I don't mind a color swap to make a character look like another (Fox with Wolf color for example) Good alts that should've been considered would be

Dry Bowser
Toon Link in his pajamas
Link with his different style of tunics from SS, TP, Ocarina, etc

stuff like that.

I'm not a fan of a character changing into another character and getting their name changed on the menu. But I'll have to live with it I guess.

Basically I wish that there had been Villager costumes that had the Gamecube-style Hat/horns.

Animal Crossing on Gamecube is easily my favorite in the series and I'd kind of wished to see it represented somehow, like with at least one costume. I would definitely always use those costumes

The only one I'm disappointed in that didn't make it was Samus's PED Suit from MP3. Am I the only one who likes how that suit looks?
Why isn't Lucas a Ness Alt? Hope that means he'll come back.

I don't play Pokemon, but I hear Shiny colorations are lacking, so throw those in there for the sake of Pokefans (same goes for costumes in series I'm less familiar with, like Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus or Mother, and so forth).

I'm iffy on having otherwise-cut characters be costumes (i.e. Fox-Wolf, Ness-Lucas). Having the Costume Clones as actual Costumes would be welcome as well (not that I lament their actual playable status, but they're all prime costume material, which is exemplified in how they were originally planned as costumes). Also, as much as Hyrule Warriors skins would have been great, I acknowledge that it's too recent to have made it in Smash 4 (though perhaps DLC costume packs won't be out of the eventual question...).

I'd love to see alt costumes with added cosmetic touches to the movesets. Some examples being:

- Daisy alt. for Peach, where the "peach bomber" sprouts flowers instead of hearts when it hits, and the items for her forward-smash are replaced with different ones, like a rolling-pin or a baseball-bat.

- Blood Falcon, with proper different details, like the spiky shoulderpad. And the Blood Hawk replacing the Blue Falcon during his FS.

Other things I'd like are: Have Olimar's Alph alt. have rock pikmin instead of purple pikmin. Marth and Palutena's colour palettes have different hair-colours too, instead of just the clothes changing. I could probably come up with something more, but this is what I can think of at the top of my head.

Most of the alt. costumes I'd like have already been mentioned, like Dry Bowser or Metal Sonic.
