You probably need to have a good desktop and internet connection. Also, proximity helps.

Eastern USA:

Tichinde925 - RI
PeachEater74 - NY
Games2007 - ??

Western USA:
Yamer: - UT

EDIT:

You need to use THIS EXACT VERSION OF DOLPHIN AND CONFIGURATION:

When you play, you both need to use the same Gamepad Input, either you both use DInput or you both use SDL.

Has to be the same for both players.

Make sure Final Destination is the only stage on Random Select.

After Dying, wait 5 seconds before continuing. Dying off the top is random, its either you die as a shooting star or instantly.

I got a pretty nice setup. I'll play.

PM me your IP addresses or MSNs or something, so we can smash.

They sell 3-in-1 Gamecube/Xbox/PS2 adaptors at Walmart for like 10 dollars. I have one, it's called a Gamemon.

They don't sell gamemon's at my walmart anymore. I assumed that they were discontinued.

But yeah, you either want a Gamemon Universal USB Converter

I'm fairly certain we all own melee and game cubes, so technically it's not even illegal.

Yeah but there are outsiders who may stumble upon thread site just searching for the game download. Discussion is perfectly fine.

I played with Tichinde and we could sometimes get a match without it desyncing. Anyone who lives closer to utah want to play?

Believe me if I could get it running on my computer I would be the first to volunteer. But not many people do do to the programs not being finished

I'll go and get an adapter right now. However, before doing so, I need to know if any of these devices have any driver Issues with the 64Bit Version of Windows 7. If you guys can get back to me on that ASAP!! Thanks

is it theoretically possible to get this running perfect? or would the phantasy star thing be more likely to work?

what if we all used a modded version, where they lowered a lot of the stuff that the computer has trouble running, but we could still play?

is the way ur playing decent enough that it actually plays like melee at all?

or is it not worth playing because the timing is so different it would actually hurt your gameplay in the future?

I have only played against Yamer. He lives in the West Coast and I live in the East Coast. Not compatible at all. We both want to play with someone on our own Coast so we can have at least 30 ms ping.

We had 110+ ms ping, which resulted in 20 fps gameplay.

I can play offline with Dolphin at 60 FPS, full speed, at 16x AF + 32x AA no lag.

I am pretty sure if 2 PCs were connected via LAN, it would be the exact same as playing offline.

Dude, I live on the East Coast.
It'd be awesome to have someone to play Melee with.

I once a read about a p2p client that just sends button commands to each other only and saved savestates every second. It would also compare these savestates every second, and if one mismatched, it would match the savestate so that both emulators are always on the same page. Since it's only button commands being sent, there was hardly any lag, and never desynched. That would be perfect for dolphin. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Maybe someone could develop it for dolphin.

Because we averaged 50ms - 60ms ping, we had to use Gamepad Buffer 6. Works okay for now.

Just need to find someone who is 30ms for Gamepad Buffer 3!!!!
