Matchup Chart Project 2015 - Calling Bowser Mains!

Hello Bowser boards,

I'm Zareidriel. Over in this thread a guy called Assassannerr made a matchup chart, and asked people to help fill it out. It seems like it would be a cool thing to have. With once glance you could have a rough idea of a matchup. It won't be perfect, but for our first go at it in 2015 we're aiming for "somewhat functional."

So here's what I'm going to do. Go to every Character Discussion board, and ask the folks there if they wouldn't mind contributing. To submit one vote, you'll have to fill out one of these:

Mark each character with a + for a match where Bowser HAS THE ADVANTAGE
Mark each character with a - for a match where Bowser HAS THE DISADVANTAGE
Mark each character with a number 0 for a match you feel is very even.

NOTE THAT I AM ONLY TAKING VOTES FROM MEMBERS WITH Bowser IN THEIR PROFILE BAR. It can be as either "Wii U Main" or "3DS Main". But if Bowser is is neither one of those slots when I count the votes on Friday, Nov 13, it won't be counted.

(Yes, for the avid democrats out there, that means you can vote for one other character as well.)

Like I said, they won't be perfect, and each board will probably be a little biased toward their own respective character. But the results should be interesting regardless.

If this thing is successful maybe we'll do a revised version in 2016.

I like my way better. Also I never really felt like 3 options was good enough since there are match-ups where Bowser's at a disadvantage but still has a good shot at winning like Peach, then there are match-ups where he's completely helpless like Sheik. But for the purpose of your chart I'll keep it simple.

Also I never really felt like 3 options was good enough since there are match-ups where Bowser's at a disadvantage but still has a good shot at winning like Peach, then there are match-ups where he's completely helpless like Sheik. But for the purpose of your chart I'll keep it simple.

Thanks, I would prefer to do a more advanced, weighted Matchup Chart [+3,+2,+1,0,-1,-2,-3] in the future, but for now we're keeping it simple like you said. One step at a time.

Because of the rating system, I classified 45:55 and 55:45 as equal. I don't think you'll have to worry much about the Bowser boards being biased. Maybe a little naive in some matchups (I kind of guessed on the Miis), but not biased... we know he's got problems.

Values are assuming players are of equal skill level and MU knowledge. Several 55:45 and 45:55 scenarios have been condensed to = since it's really up to an individual player's opinion of how equal does "equal" mean. Bowser's not a polarizing subject. He has some opponents he cannot fight anywhere near to equal terms, and a large sea of "not a problem"s from an objective standpoint.
