So he's 4 characters (Final Smash included) in one. Yeah, I can buy that. The movesets also seem to work well enough too. I wonder if he can still drown in water while in his Zora form.

It is not a third link. He would replace Toon Link, for I'm pretty certain Sakurai would not "Add another Link" like you're suggesting.Masked Link is NOT perfect. It is a third Link, and one from an older game that isn't likely to get a sequel. He is also not similar to Link and Toon Link in the sense that while they are both Link, they are the two types that reoccur, whereas Masked Link does not, he is just an edition of Link.
My hope is that Majora's Mask 3DS is announced/released before SSB4 so Sakurai can be inspired by Link's forms enough to make young Link a unique character instead of a smaller, faster LinkI support the masked Link idea and would really like to see it happen. Considering that the Zelda community is most interested in a 3D remake of the game, I think that just gives masked Link or a MM character a much better chance.
My feeling is that the next Zelda game (3DS) is going to help determine whether Toon Link is staying or not.this would be pretty favorable over just a link clone...i would say either give windwaker link a unique set or replace him with this.
Thanks, that's nice! ;DVicgur being amazing as usual.

I do have to thank Vicgur for the really cool animations/thread.Wow vicgur, that is just awesome. <3
Speaking of drowning. How the hell does squirtle drown?I wonder if he can still drown in water while in his Zora form.
Yeah, I think Deku Link should be able to hop a couple times on the water, but as soon as he's done hopping, he drowns. (Exactly like the game)That would be cheating, make him walk for a short amount of time, and make them swim longer.
Glad Vicgur's OP is extremely convinving :]Regret not clicking on this thread sooner due to the character choice. Fantastic OP.
Definitely would be a very entertaining addition, though I think he'd pretty much have to overwrite Toon Link for me to be okay with it. 3 Links is indeed pretty awkward, though I'd like him better than the alternatives for a 5th Zelda rep anyway.
As far as his likelihood. . .3/4 movesets for an old game? I guess it happened with Pokemon Trainer, but that's a rather special case, what with the hate on the newer games and the more specifically iconic status of the earlier ones.
Too bad that HD Majora's Mask trailer was a fake, eh?
I don't see it as cheating, and I think he should walk for the same amount of time as every other character. Some characters can wall jump and some can't, that's not considered cheating though. That would be cheating, make him walk for a short amount of time, and make them swim longer.
That's fake??? Best fake ever!
Who said Pokémon Trainer could be the only one with multiple movesets?! (:Other than having the best OP of any thread- this is not debatable- this is also the only LoZ character choice I would wholly agree with, as it'd bring back Young Link technically while giving him a new moveset. Or three (Or four if you count FDL) of them.
Good point there.Who said Pokémon Trainer could be the only one with multiple movesets?! (:
Good point there.
I think the Final Smash should be sort of like Giga Bowser. Link grows huge, changes into Fierce Diety Link, and crushes everyone in his way!
As for the "walking on water", I would consider that cheating. The reason I don't think wall jumps are cheating is that there's almost nowhere it can be used effectively, and there are many opportunities to use "walking on water" to get an advantage.
Makes Sense! That's why I suggested (since he can't swim) hopping three or four times on the water (like the game), then he drowns. It's not walking (since Deku Link can't walk) it's just a different (possibly shorter) way of staying above water before drowning.
Thank YOU for the beyond amazing OP!5 days later I return to see the nice compliments my thread received.
Thanks, guys!
I also wanna thank Onyx Oblivian for helping, by taking care of and advertising it.
I was thinking of a superpowered version of Link. But it can be anything, really, as long as it's Fierce Deity.Do you think that the Fierce Deity would be a single powerful strike, or a superpowered version of Link?
That is actually an awesome idea.Since I got Majora's Mask as a gift through Club Nintendo, I actually would not mind seeing Young Link return with Masks.
But instead of having Down-B copy Pokemon Trainer, I have a different idea.
There are 4 modes to be: Young Link, Deku Scrub Link, Goron Link, and Zora Link.
You transform by using Taunts. Each form only has one Taunt each, the Up Taunt.
Now, hypothetically, let's say Deku is Down Taunt, Goron is Left Taunt, and Zora is Right Taunt.
Alright, you start as Young Link, and pressing one of those Taunts has you put on the respective Mask.
As a Deku, Goron, or Zora, pressing the other Taunt buttons except for Up and the one that corresponds to the Mask you're wearing has you put on a different Mask.
Pressing the Taunt that corresponds to the Mask (for example, pressing Down Taunt as Deku Scrub) has you take the Mask off and you play as Young Link.
