This is something from the Doc boards but since Mario's uthrow has higher knockback than Dthrow, uthrow can be used to set up tech chases on stages with platforms like Battlefield.

Try it, it's not hard. Works at 0%.
This is a good 0% start up combo right? I haven't play Smash much and to let you know, I don't have Wii U, only New 3DS. But I will try it out in training mode.

Yes, definitely. If all hits connect it deals around 30% total damage.

IIRC, there are some combos/follow ups for f-throw, but I haven't experimented much with those. Maybe @ HeroMystic HeroMystic can help you out.

upthrow is better than most would like to agree. it puts the enemy directly above you to be abused by mario's superior priority at a low % , and even has some good combos. upthrow->dair->fair works (especially if theyre at a % where they bounce upon impact), and upthrow->bair works on some characters as a good startup combo and an easy way to lead to some quick offstage action. Upthrow->uair->upb is like the most simple combo and I think its like up to 26%? thats more than a smash and thats from 0% and it puts them high enough above you for you to fall safely (instead of dthrow->upb) on some characters.

fthrow->dash attack works on some, and fthrow->bair works wonders on unsuspecting people/floaty characters. near the ledge that can almost always be a stock against some characters if followed up correctly

U-throw > U-air
U-throw > B-air
U-Throw > U-Smash (only works on Falcon and ZSS)
U-Throw > D-air > Any aerial.
Why is the third combo only works on those two character's? Is it because of weight?

Weight, Height, and Fall Speed.
Captain Falcon indeed has faster fall speed. ZSS is pretty light weight as well.

Recently I saw Clash Tournament's CT Nyani video, CT Nyani is really a Mario main I can learn from!

I really don't use forward throw that much unless i want them off the stage. Is there any combos or setups that i can do with Fthrow?

fthrow->bair strings to death is my favorite combo to do in this game so far. it also looks cool. i did it in a stream one day and they all went nuts lol. dont see much of a purpose for it away from the ledge

F-throw is secretly Mario's best throw at least in specific matchups. 8% and has by far the lowest ending lag of his throws, so it's possible to combo F-throw into B-air for pretty good damage which can be optimal against floaty characters who easily break out of D-throw strings.

Also in a custom setting, F-throw Shocking Cape is amazing.

I need a quick turn after you F throw in order to perform this combo.

Oh my God, I completely forgot this thread existed. Fthrow into dash attack, fthrow into back air, fthrow into Cape, fthrow into FLUDD. Those are some things I've been fooling around with. I really don't use forward throw seriously. I guess it's good if your opponent expects a down throw and DIs accordingly.

I love this move so much. It just makes Mario's grab game that much scarier. Not to mention that with rage, it starts KOing in the middle of the stage. The main problem with this move though, is that it's unreliable. It sends the opponent at the most unfavorable angle because it's so easy to DI. Doesn't help that the animation gives them plenty of time to react.

B-throw also does 11%, and usually kills Luma instantly. I typically use B-throw at least once around mid percents for damage purposes, then at higher percents I save it until I know it's able to KO.

"So long-a Bowser!"
Basically Mario's kill throw. Not really reliable to seal stocks in the middle of the stage but near the ledge at higher percents it's really good.

On a different note for this move. In doubles, people who aren't familiar with dubs will repeatedly get hit by the hurtbox of your backthrow as they run in to try to save their teammate. Once they adjust to this though, they can run in to punish the move as its obvious and has some lag to it. This is when you can mix up with your other throws(esp f-throw, as it has exceedingly low ending lag) to create a mixup situation of sorts. Also as previously mentioned a reasonable kill throw at higher percents.

As a Rosalina main, I'd like to mention that this throw knocks away Luma, so it is the best throw against Rosalina and Luma when Luma is alive and connected to Rosalina.

Indeed. There are a lot of Mario 64 references snuck into Mario's moveset. Such as the upcoming move if it is what I think it is.
Probably since Mario 64 was one of the first games where Mario used some fighting-like moves (like punching and kicking).

The first game was also released not too long after Mario 64, so it would make sense to pull from the most recent source. I have to say, I wish the fighting mechanic would come back. Breakdance kicking a Goomba is so much more fun than just jumping on it.

Unfortunately a lot of combo moves in 64 wasn't utilized by expert Mario players so they didn't need to stay.

If Nintendo made more of an action-like platformer we could see them return, but they seem content to taking the beaten the path. Oh well, at least the RPGs are always unique.

In their defense, the last time they experimented with something, we got Sticker Star. I don't think anymore needs to be said. I wish they would try something weird or risky with the NEW series, though.

Congrates, you only make over 1000 posts but you also have 1000 likes! I did give you a lot of likes :)
About back throw, my brother likes to use a damn tatics that he stands on the edge of the stage, and then grab me and back throw me when I approach to him, is there any way to break through his tatic? Kind of stupid of him is that he rarely pummels when he grabs.

Outspace, projectiles, or god forbid roll behind and grab him. This is a really basic tactic that everybody learns
when they fight Little Macs for their first time on For Glory, it's hardly specific to Mario. Fighting it teaches you
how and what moves you can do on shield without getting grabbed in retaliation.

Well, thank you. Your contribution is noted. And your brother? Jab. As long as he doesn't have a tether, Mario's jab will beat every grab in the game. Or better yet, just don't approach. You have a projectile.

This is probably one of Mario's best moves. It catches rolls, is a decent approach option, can stop approaches, is a good retreating option, has acceptable priority, breaks combos, stage spikes, and has almost no landing lag, so it can easily be converted into a combo. Late Nair to down smash is a combo that I like to do at high percents.

The strong hit could stand to do a bit more damage, but I agree that this is one of, if not the best move for Mario. The versatility of this move is unrivaled in comparison to the rest of Mario's moveset.
