ITT: We discuss mains in fighting games beyond Smash!

So we're all Smash fans here. Presumably some of us play other fighters, too. Mains always fascinate me. So I'd like to know what other fighters you play and the characters you play in said games.

I usually have a main and a couple of subs in any game, so I'll list it as such. First character is my main, separate characters are my subs.

I usually pick the shoto/jack of all trades sort of character for the most part. Some I pick because I really enjoy putting things on screen to zone and letting the opponent deal with. Ken in all the Street Fighter games (because I'm a loser) and Lui Kang in all the Mortal Kombat games (because I'm a loser).

Aside from that, there's also Soul Calibur, when my main character per game because I like SC a lot and play them seriously.

This. I picked up Tekken purely because of Leo, and DoA for Marie Rose. I did use to play a lot of both games when I was younger; as I recall, I played Yoshimitsu in Tekken and Hitomi in DoA, respectively.

Taokaka is a slightly more interesting case. I tried for ages to find my main in BlazBlue - I went through Noel, Bang, Ragna and Nu - before realising my main had found me, since no matter what I experimented with or whom I played, it inevitably came back to good ol' Tao in the end.

Whenever I end up playing a traditional fighter I have a hard time liking the characters for either playstyle or general, er, character. So I really can't get into the game either. But then again, I haven't tried the Capcom X whatever games and I'm a pretty big fan of Ace Attorney and Megaman so I could probably get into those. Nobody I know plays 'em so I don't have much of a reason to get them myself because Smash is already taking all of my spare time.
