Immediately got shot into losers, but I made a decent losers run into 9th place out of nearly 40 people, so I'm pretty happy with that, especially since I'm still getting used to the new shield mechanics. Made it there with only Link with the exception of one game.

EDIT:
Actually no, I only used Link throughout the whole bracket. I'm just recalling a friendly match.

I didn't compete or play last week due to midterms so there was a bit of rust. It's also probably not a good idea to go to a tourney with only the new controller you've used for only a day haha. My Link felt so awful and Bombslides were no longer natural. I used my Link for only 3/6 matches as I didn't feel like I could trust him instead relying on Rosalina.

I also went Sheik for one round after being encouraged through destroying DJTHED DJTHED . Lost that round though. Pity since I ultimately got knocked out in that round in a last hit situation.

At least my PR appearance is now secured. I'm so glad this board exists. I've learned so much since I first registered. Thank you guys :).

Third in singles and second in doubles. I wasn't feeling it today especially during the morning having overslept majorly and being late for several things. However all of these things don't matter and disappear as soon as the matches start :).

Fun night. Also the first time I beat someone in Winners then lost to them in Losers haha. Gotta keep practicing, last match I played was the most sloppy I've been in quite awhile.

Normally I post results right after the tournament but I must say I was more than embarrassed to get knocked out by two Shulks for my worst placement since September.

I feel like Link should have the advantage in this MU but I have no experience versus top level Shulks so that really hurt my performance. I was getting hit when I thought I wasn't in range :[.

Anyone have advice for the Shulk MU?

Hey guys, school's been hard so I haven't been going to as many tournaments but a few results to show:

GUMS04 (our biggest regional yet!): 17th/103 http://challonge.com/gums04s November 7
I was pretty happy with how I did in this tournament, I might post the match I played on stream where I got absolutely bodied by our top sonic (3rd on PR). I really just have no idea how to play that matchup, but honestly part of me doesn't want to post it just because I got read/bodied so badly.

Played pretty well here too, ended up taking a game off of a player I'd never beaten before and likely would have taken the set but for an SD in game 2, so I was happy about that even though i lost

Have to be careful when deciding to switch to Samus from now on. Playing Samus first against Velvet cost me my placing. Competition has become pretty fierce now. Was struggling in pools, but got 2nd seed. Damn that Rosalina matchup, and Ryu is pretty scary. LOL! Going to work even harder now.

Round 1 I played a :4luigi:and I'm pretty sure I 2 stocked him both games. The MU is really rough for them obviously

Round 2 I played QED who was 3rd in my pool and played :4zss: and game 1 I was really ahead(he was at 150% last stock when I finally lost mine) then he did like 4 up airs and killed me with Up B at 40% and won game 2 cleanly

Round 3 I played an Oos :4tlink:game 1 I won soundly, following this the rest of his squad came over and between the chants and being out played I lost game 2. Game 3 I took his first stock at 14% but I simply choked due to the pressure.

Sorry for the lack luster results I was really set on top 8

Lol gotta have a projectile or I feel empty inside. Nah but I usually use ness in the Fox mu. (Fox, pika, diddy) Although my diddy has been making some noise recently. Apparently not enough. Any advice on link v fox would be nice tho. #rekt also I find it interesting we all have different secondaries

I've been sick for a couple weeklies and missed others for the midterm periods so it's nice to compete again even if it's roughly a month after my last weekly. It's even nicer to come first and grab $57 :). With this win I've at some point come first at all three weeklies. Next onto the monthlies? Hopefully :].

That being said this win was mostly attributed to circumstances. Most people didn't come since it's crunch time for us university students. As a result the turn-out was a third less than usual and being the highest ranked PR member in attendance I was expected to win.

Oh and I forgot to mention I made PR earlier this month. I debut at 4th and got nicknamed (as tradition here) the Iceman by the PR committee. I don't think it fits me but oh well :p.
I have a lot of people here at the Link board to thank for helping me make PR. Some of you have given me very detailed break downs about my play, others have shared knowledge and many have helped just by posting footage of their play. It's all helped me become a better player and for that I am grateful to you all.
