Smash Wii U Lag on character select screen

Hi guys,

I just got smash for wii u today, and I've been having a small issue and I wanted to know if anyone else is having it.
Whenever I play smash, I always have lag on the character select screen, as well as the credits screen. Fights and other menus have no lag though, only the character select screen. I'm currently running my wii through component cables at 1080p.

That's just the hd tv's post-processing 3-ish frame lag showing itself easier than you can see in a match. Also it does this slightly even on a crt, so the current thoughts on it are that the character select hand has a slight acceleration built into it which makes the physics of it a bit strange in comparison to what we're used to.
