Smash Rookie
The 5th installment of the SSBM Michigan Summer Circuit is continuing in Harrison Township with the first installment of the Retirement Suite hosted by 401k! Due to time constraints, however, there will only be Melee Singles at this tournament. I chose to sacrifice doubles in order to make room for pools. This may change based on negotiations with the venue owner.
INFORMATION
Venue Fee - $5 per person - Required by everyone
Melee 1v1 - $10 per person
Part of the venue fee will be put towards pizza and pop provided by the bar!

Parking is all around the building, with entrances in the front and back.
We'll be located in the Pool Room. When you walk in there will be a black staircase. If you walk up that staircase and go to the right, you'll find where we're setup. You can also ask the reception desk located at the front where to go.

3:00-4:00 - Food & Friendlies/MMs Break
4:00-7:30 - Singles Bracket

Melee 1v1 - 50/30/15/5 to 1/2/3/4 - TBD by # of entrants
BRING SETUPS - $5 venue fee to be refunded if we use a full setup that you bring (CRT TV, Gamecube/Wii and SSBM disc)
I'll love you if you bring setups.
RULES:
* 4 stock, 8:00 minutes
* Items OFF
* Sets are best-of-3 except Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals, which are best-of-5.
* Ties after the time limit are determined by stocks, then by percentage.
* Wobbling is legal up to 300%
* Master Hand is banned.
* Glitches such as IC's Freeze Glitch and Mewtwo's Soul Stunner are banned.
* Stalling with Jigglypuff's Rising Pound or Peach's Wall Bomber is banned.
* Dave's Modified Rule: You cannot counterpick any stage you won on unless it was the stage struck to for the first game, or unless agreed upon by the opponent.

Stage Strike for the first match of the set in "1221" fashion:
1. First person strikes one stage.
2. Second person strikes the next two stages.
3. First person strikes one stage.
After each match:
1. Winner announces stage ban
2. Loser chooses counterpick stage
3. Winner chooses their character
4. Loser chooses their character
EDIT: Unfortunately, since I'm getting pizza and pop with part of the venue fee, I've decided to be only giving $1 back per item brought to the venue (i.e. cube/wii or crt)
I can also use power strips and extension cords if you have 'em.
