The University of New Hampshire's Melee community is back with another big summer tournament! This will be a one-day, melee-specific event that will be held in the same venue that the first CHS was held in last year. This tournament will feature Doubles along with Singles Pools that will feed into Pro and Amateur Brackets.

VENUE:
100 Clubhouse Street, Durham, NH.
This tournament will be held in the clubhouse at the Cottages of Durham; you can park anywhere on the property.

FEES:
$5 Venue Fee (waived with a full melee setup!)
$10 per person for Singles
$10 per team for Doubles ($5 per person)

SCHEDULE:
11:30 AM: Doors Open, Registration Opens
1:00 PM: Doubles Starts
4:00 PM: Singles Pools Start
6:00 PM: Singles Brackets (Pro & Amateur) Start
8:30 PM: Tournament ends

PAYOUTS:
Singles (under 33 players):
1st: 60%, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 10%.
Singles (33-48)
1st: 54%, 2nd: 27%, 3rd: 13%, 4th: 6%.
Singles (49+ players):
1st: 50%, 2nd: 24%, 3rd: 12%, 4th: 6%, T-5th: 4%.
Doubles:
1st: 60%, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 10%.
100% of the pot bonus goes to singles.

TRANSPORTATION:
From Boston's North Station up through Portland, Maine, the Amtrak Downeaster rail service operates throughout the day on weekends (although transport from the train station to the venue will have to be arranged independently.) Apologies in advance if the following are stupid questions. I've never been to a tournament before, so I'm not sure how registering for it works. Is there anything I need to do before the day, or is it all done at the event?

Also, I'm not familiar with different brackets based on skill. Would you mind explaining that a little further?

Any questions are welcome. Registration is done at the door the day of the tournament. Feel free to ask around for the TOs (or Tournament Organizers) and they'll be able to give you any information you may need about the tournament. You will be expected to show up on time for whatever events you plan on entering, and you will be expected to pay to enter.

When it comes to the brackets, we're starting with round-robin pools, which are seeded but are not super skill-based. The results of pools determine which double-elimination bracket you'll be sent to - winning the pro bracket means you won the entire tournament. While winning the amateur bracket may not be as rewarding, you will still get your money back for doing so and will have something to feel good about.

It is not 18+, and as the schedule above notes, singles registration closes at 4:00 PM.

Last minute question, but how long is registration for singles? Does it go all throughout doubles, or does all registration end when doubles starts?
