Well we'll probably wait 3 weeks for the next Friday as well, because we wouldn't want to run a Melee event on the day Smash Wii U comes out.

Its been a MONTH since our last Melee tournament because of all the holidays! I know some of you guys are in finals this week, but I hope to see the lot of you this Friday for our return!

This tournament is typically the strongest local in NJ so it is always packed to the brim and setups will be tournament-only until much later in the night when they open up for friendlies. That in addition to the cramped venue and shortage of TVs may not make it the best one for a first timer who will want to get in as many games as possible. I can suggest Jersey Japes South in Princeton as a good alternative, which runs on Saturdays, or Smash Madness in Kearny which is a monthly also on Sat.
That being said, if you don't mind a hectic atmosphere and want to see how you compare to the best of the best then by all means come down. The arcade itself is great, with tons of machines and good cheap food. There is no venue fee, only $10 to enter the tourny if you choose to. (double elim, starts 730pm and ends around 11pm). If you come a bit early (no earlier than 630pm please) you can try to get a few games in before the event starts.
