Is there much of a scene in Burbank, CA?

Just got into Melee and have read I need to get my ass whooped a bit. I have been looking around for tourneys in the area, but don't really know what to look for.

Not sure about the scene as a whole but iirc Westballz is in Burbank, but that probably doesn't help you much. SoCal is one of the most active regions in the world so they're bound to be a local or smashfest near you. In fact there is a series of tournaments called Smash @ BMA, here is a link to the FB event page of the last event. Also check out the SoCal Melee Facebook group for more info.
