Is it just me, or have the servers been a lot worse lately?

I was just having a great match against a Dedede as Captain Falcon. I was just about to finish him off.

Falcon...

[Disconnected from network during transmission]

This kind of stuff has been happening a lot more lately.

Yea It's been happening to me too, and a little more frequently than before. I'd usually have it happen once a week, and today it happened 5 times in a row, three after the battle had finished, and the other two mid-match.

A lot of it's due to Mario Kart Wii. -_-

It's done it twice for me. Against one person. Nintendo needs to fix this...

Nintendo never will. Their entire online gaming team probably consists of about 10 people. 5 of those people generate friends codes by making up new ones everyday by hand, while the other 4 sit around and laugh at the one guy who is trying to run all the servers and come up with ways to fix their online system

You forgot the 11th person.
The one who buys all the food, like their steady diet of coffee and donuts.

Seriously, it just sucks that Mario Kart is like that.
And has anyone noticed?
That game is as cheap as.....well, there's nothing cheaper than Mario Kart, I can tell you that.
I played online, looking for a serious race.
Guess what.
Blue shell -> POW Block -> Ink -> at least 2 red shells.
I got PWNed, and it hurt so bad that I lost because of some cheap items.
Why can't the person in first get at least a FEW more items?
They worked hard to get there, and they just end up being surpassed by unworthy racers.
That game angers me to no end.
Though I play it anyway.
I just think that they should turn some items off for serious play.
I'm sick of being bombarded by crappy players.
I want a rematch, NOW.

Sounds more like a poem than a complaint - especially the ending part.

I'm not getting as much lag as i use to, only some button delay that drives me nuts.

Have you tried the DHCP and DMZ settings? Its in the sticky thread.

Also try rejoining WFC if it takes to long to find a match,

Normally it took me about a min or two to a random match.

I have been busy the last 3 weeks with finals so I hadn't had time to play brawl then. But when I started playing again I noticed it takes a lot longer to find players on random, and even if it does find people it disconnects me during the game. I also have been getting even more disconnect errors than usual when waiting for people to enter. I really hope this isn't the end of my SSB days, considering this is my first SSB game.

I've been having a lot of disconnects too, but I've even been having them in friend matches. There won't be any lag or anything...just disconnects. Is anyone else having these problems with friends as well?

yes. i am, Orrax. lots of disconnects, along with 86420 and 91010 errors. the 86420s went away after I assigned my Wii a static IP address, and forwarded a wide range of ports to it on my router. this is all quite strange because Brawl WFC worked JUST FINE until recently (until Mario Kart Wii came out?).

The 91010s and error message-less disconnects have been more troubling. Nintendo seems to think that redundant friend code entries contribute to 91010s, but I have deleted quite a few people without that completely solving the problem.

i definitely feel like the Brawl QOS has changed, post Mario Kart, and it will probably be a few weeks before they get everything back on track. Until then, send the emails and write the letters, so that Nintendo knows you're out there.
