Is being a spectator just watching computers fight?

Nope. They are acual people online. If they were computers that would be real bad.

Yeah, if you go on Wi-fi and click on options, they have an option called "Allow Spectators". It's automatcially turned on unless you change it, and it takes your Wi-fi Basic Team Brawls and lets other people watch it by being spectators.

Small correction, they are actual players, but its not live (nobody mentioned this), as in the match already happened. This is proven by entering spectator option, getting 4 characters, letting the timer go to about 10 seconds and leaving. Once you re-enter spectator, sometimes you'll get the exact same 4 characters on the exact stage but the countdown timer is reset.

If it was live it would confuse the actual people as to why their timer is being reset.

If less than 4 people join a match, most of the time they'll be replaced by level 3 CPUs.
Really? I've never had that happen when I'm playing. I usually have to quit after a while because no one is ever on, lol.
