Hmm... Ok, then. The dwarf wouldn't be able to teach since he would be easily bribed by chunks of ore. Teachers should be of good character. The ****** could get beat up and assulted by the hot headed, not to mention dumb dwarve. That leaves both the dwarf and the ****** out.

An alien would never be able to teach since it wouldn't be able to communicate well.

The spirit is the best. It could use its powers to communicate. It cant be bribed, fought, or assulted. It could also gather information easily by flying in and out of the classroom.

My computer found those 3 in 3min40seconds.
the 1st one is easy, the 2nd one can be verified by hand without much trouble,and the 3rd one is a lot harder to check.
however even knowing the solutions, I don't know of any simple way to figure them out.

I don't think I exactly solved that riddle since I had to use a computer to do tests for every number from 1 to 30.000 to get those 3 answers, and they're relatively simple since (a+b+c) take the values 1,10.000, and 20.000.

I've tried changing the numbers 987654321 and 123456789, switching them for their equivalent in other bases than B=10.
for B=5 or 7 there is only the trivial answer (0,0,1)
for B=6 there're 2 other answers, one with (a+b+c)=7*9 and the other one with (a+b+c) = 2*6^2, which strongly ressembles the 2*10^4 we have in base 10.
for B=8 there're 3 other answers, including (a+b+c) = 8^3 and 2*8^3.

So there's a lot more to see on this "riddle", like why those multiples of B^(B/2-1) appear, and why there was no "parasite" answer for B=10 like there is for B=6 or B=8.
